This brew pub has excellent beer of every type. From farmhouse to saison, extra pale to stout, I don't think there's a single bad one. The take away cans are only 12oz but I prefer to drink the draft there. Food menu is a bit limited but you're probably not here to eat. The location of this brewery was great while I was in the area. It's a little tucked away on a corner so you can look right past it if you aren't looking closely. It was a rainy and dreary day so no one could sit outside and there's somewhat limited seating indoors. I ordered an IPA and a margharita pizza. My beer was good and the pizza may need a little slat but the service was fantastic. The bar maids and servers were so good about keeping my water full and gave me extra napkins - it's the little things, ya know? I messed up the til machine when closing my tab, but the server handled it swiftly and helpfully. read more

Best stout in Ottawa; Fortitude Stout... an Ottawa classic. Not the best food, but willing to overlook because the beer is so good.

Being outside of our normal stomping ground, we had not gone in here for a sit down. Finally made it on a beautiful fall night. They have Community seating outdoors, which is a great way to make new friends. Friendly crowd. The overall noise level is on the louder side, but in a good way. A colleague of mine recommended this place, so I decided to go after work on a Friday. The place was almost completely packed full! There are a lot of tables (it's a really long restaurant), and 4 bartenders. Everyone was chatting and drinking beer. It's a bit dark but cozy inside, and it's a bit too loud for my preference; I had to talk loudly to be heard, so I couldn't stay long. Service is a bit slow; you might have to get their attention to make your order. I was sitting at the bar and I made eye contact a few times but the bartender didn't come over to ask for my order. They have happy hour until 6pm, where you can get $2 off a beer on tap! I chose the Invigorator, which is a dark beer with dark dried fruit, toasted pumpernickel, and chocolate flavors. It was indeed dark, but still drinkable and light-tasting, which was delicious! They have a food menu, but I opted not to try it, given that I wanted to grab dinner elsewhere. Cute little place in Hintonburg. Ottawa needs more of these places to cure the city of its homebody sickness. I'm sure the hours are based on the foot traffic but a bar that closes at 1am (earlier on weekdays!) is tragic. People of Ottawa - go to Tooth and Nail and stay a while. Four and half. For a micro brewery. Half star is for the tasty appetizer (nuts ,olives, charcuterie and the like.). Their beers are seven in total on this visit. From pale ales, IPA, stout and bock. Tried two pale ales. Very comparable with some of the best in the business. Service was fast and friendly. Great neigbourhood vibe. Families and friends are the patrons. I would not call it grungy. They have simple industrial decor with lots of seating. Come and try their beers. You will probably leave with a growler. My measuring stick for micro brews include Vancouver and Portland. Showed up after a long drive and checked to make sure they were open online. It said patio was open. The hostess was really rude and said they were full for reservations for the night (no reservation option on site) and the patio was wide open. Tried to get beer to go and was also turned away because they're Internet was down. I'm sure they have fine beer but I won't be coming back to try it. read more

There are many great choices of beer here to choose from and the option to take more than a fair share of the beer selection home as well. If you are hungry there are a few options including the Pretzel Buns that come with a beer made mustard. Give it a try if you are there. The bartenders were friendly and had time to throw back a few sarcastic jokes. Worth stopping in if you are in this part of Ottawa no doubt about that. I will certainly be back. read more

Enjoyed drinks here with friends on Saturday night. Really liked the interior, it's big but still felt cozy. Service and beer were both good! The beers I tried were hoppier than I expected but I'd definitely go back again to try something different. Quite a few beers on tap as well as one cider (not their own). Love this local brewery located in Mechanicsville. Seating is pretty tight especially on Fridays and Saturday. Their beer is well refined and not too hoppy. This recently opened Brew pub in Hintonburg, at 3 Irving Avenue, just off Wellington st. West, offers a friendly atmosphere, excellent, brewed-on-site beers, and a "Ploughman" style food pairing experience. Dana and her staff are friendly, considerate. and they know their beers. All in all an excellent addition to the Ottawa Craft brewery marketplace. read more

Great location, great service. Every time we've stopped in for a pint the owners have been onsite. They are really friendly and engaging with the customers which goes a long way with the locals. There is a retail store where you can buy regular cans or "crowlers" of your favorite beer. I recommend the Tenacity or Rabble-Rouser but you can get a flight of beer for those who want to a little of everything. Highly recommend this business and I hope they have a long future. read more

We drank there during their first week of operation, but already it was a terrific place and their beers are outstanding. The craft beer scene in Ottawa is getting pretty crowded but these guys are real standouts offering unique takes on classic beers across a broad range to appeal to many tastes. One interesting note was our waitress was consistently refilling a small water glass for each of us. Though they did have small plates and snack fare, including a sweet and mildly savoury candied nut medley, it was not a full restaurant. But I did find the water good for keeping hydrated and palate cleansed before enjoying another unique beer. This isn't a detraction and I think was a real testament to their staff. Though they seemed to have only one server working that night the speed of service was the best I've had at any establishment. read more

Enjoyed the ambience in there. It's sort of a grungy place, but they have put it together pretty well. The beer selection is good and I enjoyed the beer that I tried. Food selection is minimal so would recommend going there after a meal. read more
