He suggested I get it done before the end of the year, but he had no availability to extract the tooth. The x-rays and consult was $190. He recommended Dr. Moe, an oral surgeon to extract the tooth. They scheduled an appt. for me today and Dr. Moe's office called me yesterday. They said they will need to take x-rays, as the ones they received from Dr. Makram's office weren't good enough (seeing a theme here) and they might need to do a "360-panoramic?" x-ray? Dr. Moe's office said they will need to charge me another $210 for a consultation and x-rays and I will have to come back for the extraction. The recovery of oral tissue from clenching trauma requires a three-to-five-day healing window that would have been compromised by the proposed 1.5 hour deep cleaning; such invasive procedures on already inflamed tissue would have significantly increased soreness and represent a breach of clinical standards when presented under high-pressure administrative conditions.
