I texted AND called ahead to make sure they would transfer any photos and x-rays already taken by my dentist (so they wouldn't try to charge or anything). What happens? I get there and they throw me into the x-ray without informing me what I am doing. Secondly, this guy spends less than 10 minutes looking at my gums (doesn't even use/refer to those x-rays btw) all to give me about a $15k price tag after this brief consult. Next, as the technician who clearly didn't know what she was doing asks me what my budget is? Before any other conversation - what's your budget. THIS PLACE DOES NOT CARE ABOUT THE PATIENTS. IT IS A MONEY GRAB. Do not waste your gas or time coming here. I promise you will find cheaper options anywhere else. As the tech shows me the cost of everything needed, I literally start crying out of frustration - as I feel I am trying to be taken advantage of. I'm crying. In the office. And no one flinched. I repeat, this place doesn't care about you. Last thing I will say here is that when they gave me the pricing - they decided for me that I would pay for IV sedation (the expensive one) as opposed to a local anesthesia. So essentially me, the client, am the one who has to ASK about the other sedation options. They were not given to me or explained. Screw this place and I will never ever ever ever refer to anyone. They were very consultative in putting the treatment plan together and while I went in with a lot of concerns I left feeling very comfortable. Really have mixed reviews about Tooth HQ. I went to my normal dentist Tuesday, was told I had a toothache because I needed my wisdom teeth removed. Cool. I called up to the office they referred me to, (Tooth HQ) and no answer. I called a total of 5 times between 9 am - 2:30 pm. I knew they were open as their automatic msg the day before was "we're closed because of COVID". Now it was saying, "Someone is on the phone." This part wasn't a huge deal, COVID is impacting all of us. I get it. The doctor actually answered and let me know they were short-staffed, so again, I understood. He was able to get me booked for Thursday, which was exceptionally quick. I was happy, especially because the customer service was so good. The consultation went well. He confirmed I had 3 wisdom teeth and that they needed to be extracted. Gave me the option to be awake, or to be put to sleep. Gave me payment options, as well as the opportunity to pay it all upfront and save 3%. Lastly, they gave me a pamphlet/paper that told me how to "prepare" for the next day. A lot didn't apply as I wasn't being sedated. Today, the day of the extraction I get there at 10am, filled out additional paperwork then waited for him to begin. Again, the staff was super friendly. They turned on the TV, asked if I had any questions, and then began. He did injections to numb my mouth. I have never had injections so rough (I've had other procedures that require injections but none this intense.) At this point, my nervousness is SKY HIGH, because why is he so rough?! We get to the extraction portion and it still seemed rough. (But I have nothing to compare it to as I've never had teeth removed). They ask how I'm doing, if I have any questions and etc. Gave me mouth gel, mouthwash and more information to take home. I get in the car and realized we never confirmed the pharmacy for my pain meds. I go back in & she let's me know she's going to order them.. now. Needless to say, my prescription wasn't ready until 1:15pm. At this point, I haven't had any pain medicine and my numbness is wearing off and the pain is KICKING IN, FAST. Only to get there and Walgreens can't give me the antibiotics due to COVID-19. What?! They tell me the Doctor has to give them a 'diagnosis code' and they can't help me until then. I called Tooth HQ at 1:49 pm to speed up the process, in which they said they'd take care of ASAP. 5:15 pm I called back up to Walgreens to see what the hold up was.. Only to be told no one from Tooth HQ called, and that they left a message with them and hadn't heard back. Needless to say, I wasn't pleased with the roughness of the procedure or the way the prescriptions were handled. Hoping during my follow up I have a more pleasant experience. read more

Dr. Vadivel is amazing! I went in for a consultation after being referred there by my normal dentist, and I was not disappointed. I was very impressed that I was able to get a same day appointment and even more impressed with being able to schedule the first part of my treatment for the very next morning! Dr. Vadivel extracted one of my molars this past Saturday and I have yet to feel any pain or discomfort. I honestly didn't even realize it was out until he told me, "Hey buddy, the tooth is out now." I'm not sure how many of you all need a specialist like him in addition to your normal dentist, but I definitely recommend him. His staff is also very knowledgeable about procedures and how certain treatments can affect you in the short term and the long term. They seem like they genuinely want to help you and actually show an effort in making everything fit your budget as best as possible. I will be going back to get an implant and also to get all 4 of my wisdom teeth extracted. My mom had an assault by an inmate while at work with Arlington PD. She needed to get to someone fast and this office got her in as soon as they could. She is still trying to get work done, pending the financial approval portion with her job/insurance but so far they have been handling things perfectly. I haven't even seen the dentist yet and I am already impressed by the waiting room. There are books like one on " how things work" so you can understand lots of stuff about nature and science and tons of other stuff. It is a small thing but it made an impression on me. The dental assistant has been great and explained things to me and went over the operations that were possible. When I saw the dentist, he recommended a solution that was new to me and solved some issues. I am grateful for this suggestion and will contact the person he referred me to. read more

I went to Dr. Vladivil (oral gum care) about 3 months ago for deep cleaning with sedation. The Dr. And his asst. we're so patient and understanding of my fears. Dr. Vladivil is so caring and has an excellent bed side manner, he really takes time with his patients. Yesterday, I went for my follow up cleaning and met Michelle who cleaned my teeth. She is wonderful, was so patient and really took the time to explain the procedure. In addition she took the time to explain the best way to brush my teeth, in a way know one has taught me in all my years. I came home with an arsenal of wisdom and tools at my disposal to ensure that my teeth and gums stay healthy. I can not say enough good things about the staff at this office... I am quite shocked by all the positive reviews for this Dr., my experience with him and his office having been so poor. I sought Vadivel's help for periodontal issues. I am a mature female, and Dr. Vadivel allowed me to believe that I was getting a specific periodontal surgery that I was seeking; yet upon awakening from the anesthesia, I had had an entirely DIFFERENT procedure done. I also had 2 extractions, and the suture work at the extraction sites was very sloppy (ex: the inside of my cheek was sewn to my gum). I had an impression taken of the extraction sight before the "surgery" started, so that I could have a temporary partial denture constructed; the impression was never sent to lab, and I never received the partial. If you are going in for any procedure that is NOT routine, it may be likely that the Dr. will not be the one performing the work, but possibly interns (as I believe was the case in my situation.) The anesthesia was never fully explained to me; I had never been fully "knocked" out during dental work or surgery before, but I was this time. I DID NOT ask for it. Following the "surgery", as I was coming to from the anesthesia, I was left entirely alone in a dark room. I was left without compresses in my extraction sites. The experience could not have been more dissatisfying, and Dr. Vadivel was nowhere to be seen following the proceedure. Very poor. read more

It wasn't a good experience. This Dentist was not gentle! While giving me the Injections he was very aggressive. It hurt really bad. Then he immediately started working. He didn't allow additional time for the numbing medicine to take effect. This office is also very expensive. They have high pressured sales tactics. I had to tell them three times I couldn't afford the $3,500 treatment plan. Then the Dentist told me I wasn't following his advice. I received an Extraction. Then I was given a prescription mouth wash and oral gel to take home. Later I found out these two items were $90 which my insurance doesn't cover! The staff is awesome, everyone from the receptionist to the doctor. They make you really feel welcome and address all your issues and concerns. They offer advice on your best course of action and payment plans that work best for you. Great location and the place is absolutely spot less. Lydia is the dental assistant and a real sweat-heart. If you have any type of surgical procedure done Dr. V calls you personally the next day to check on you. The only down fall is they are pricey compared to must places. Other dentists were either too expensive or not willing to pull my teeth "due to risk". Dr. Vadivel is an amazing specialist with wisdom teeth. I decided to get all 4 wisdom teeth pulled and the procedure was done in 15 minutes. They are very willing to work with your financial situation (especially since I just graduated college and do not have much money). Follow up and post procedure went great and smoothly as well. My college-age daughter had her wisdom teeth removed 11/19/2018 and our experience was both strange and troubling. Wanting to spread her independent wings, my daughter went alone to the consult appointment. She also made me promise to not reveal that I am an RN with 30 years of emergency/trauma experience. We arrived on-time for a 3:30 surgery and were told that the surgery would take about 1.5 to 2 hours. They took her back at about 4:25 and I sat in a corner of the room as the assistant set things up. Looking around, the room was not very clean at all. The plastic sleeve that protects the chair from shoes was torn and hanging off and was visibly dirty as was the chair itself. The assistant connected the cardiac monitor and pulse ox machine. The dentist came in and reviewed with my daughter what the procedure would entail. When asked, she informed the dentist that she had a cardiac ablation for an arrhythmia 1.5 years ago. The dentist turned to a counter and drew up medication in three different syringes. He then proceeded to lay the uncapped syringes on the treatment table that had a pad covering it that was NOT sterile. The assistant was not sterile when she placed it and in fact used ungloved hands to fold it prior to laying it down. Next came the attempt at starting an IV. The dentist took a butterfly and jabbed it in quite forcibly, withdrew it and pushed it back in several times. Not surprisingly, the IV had infiltrated. The second attempt was more successful. I was sent out to the waiting room at 4:41, where the receptionist was packing things for the night. Music off, tv off, lights off and out the door they went. The dentist comes out 30-40 minutes later and announced that the surgery was complete. That was the last I saw of him. A young man came out and provided good discharge instructions to me. When they took my back to my daughter, I was surprised to see her sobbing, clutching her chest and blood pouring out of her mouth. The two employees had their backs to her and when I asked what was going on they said my daughter reported that she was having an anxiety attack. So how about a little compassion? Sure, you can experience chest pain with an anxiety attack. You can also experience chest pain while having a cardiac arrhythmia! They wouldn't know however because they had already removed the cardiac monitor! I would not recommend this facility for any type of surgical procedure, certainly not one that would require conscious sedation. Based on my observations of poor technique, no regard for infection control and the inability to recognize a potential adverse event, I do not have confidence that the individuals in this facility would act appropriately should a patient complication arise. They also forgot to call in my daughter's medications which just rounded out a perfect evening. read more

Im giving a star because the nurse was nice but I just didnt have a good experience with this place. When i first went to speak to the nurse, her first question was how committed was i to the procedures that I needed. I should have taken that as a bad sign but i told her I knew i will need major work done that would cost a fortune but i was as committed as my salary could afford. She proceeds to give me a form to sign and put in my information. Luckily i didnt as i notice it was a form to get a loan from a bank they partner with. I told her this was something i would not do so recklessly. She then goes to tell me she will try her best to get me a 0% interest rate. I told her again its not something i wouldnt do without thinking and out of curiousity what was the interest rate on it. She hesitated and then said 28% but assured me quickly she will do her best to get 0%......for the first year. I said no thank you and she took my xrays and brought in the dentist. After checking me over he begin to tell me about my condition. Of course i was expecting already that my teeth were in horrible conditions. I knew I was going to need major work but then he begin to ask me do i understand him and is he making any sense as if I was dumb when really I was listening to all of what he was saying. I told him i understand everything he was saying but really he was asking me this because a second later he put the loan form in my face and says I NEED to sign it so he can begin the work (which was to pull out all of my teeth and put in a fixed denture) I told him this is something i cant do, a loan is a huge responsibility, the rate was too high and it was something I wouldnt do without talking to my husband. He then insist i call my husband then and there or ask if i can bring him tomorrow so he can begin working and that my health was on the line and asking me do I understand that all of my teeth would need to be pulled and that his nurse will fill out the form if i just give her the info. I became overwhelmed with the forcefulness that I politely said again I will not do anything without speaking with my husband. After I left i spoke with 3 other dentist who said this doctor plan for me was absolutely unnecessary considering my age and though my teeth were bad, they never would recommend his plan. I found another dentist who gave me a great plan consisting of surgery, grafting, and implants (7k lesser than this doctor plan) and not throwing loan papers in my face or using fear tactics to sign. Thankfully me and my husband saved enough for the surgery and taking the first step to a healthy smile. But I would never recommend this dentist to anyone who ask me. read more

I've been noticing that Dr. Kumar have been receiving 5 stars, but from my own personal experiences I'd only give 1 star. Reason being, I visited Dr. Kumar's office/clinic back in April of 2017. I went to him for Dental problems. He took a few X-Rays & said "I would need oral gum surgery (deep cleaning)". I was told that before having the procedure done, "I would have to pay $700 out of pocket & my dental insurance would cover the rest". The day of my procedure all of that changed. I must say I am not a big fan of needles. Dr. Kumar tried to numb my mouth, but it didn't work. He then stated that "he'd have to start an IV for sedation in order to help" I proceeded to ask the cost for sedation, because I wouldn't be able to afford anything extra. His words to me were "Don't worry about it, it is on me" I Thanked him & let him know how appreciative I was for that.I went back a week later for a follow up, and everything was fine. Fast forward a year later, I go to check my credit report & see that Dr. Kumar has charged me $842 for sedation. Please be careful with Dr. Kumar so that this doesn't happen to you. I am now considering taking this to court. read more
