New to the state and one of the stressful things to do is find a good dentist. After going to a different one for our cleanings and having her tell my husband that not only did he have 14 cavities but he also needed Invisalign! He has had 1 cavity in his lifetime and has very straight teeth (he's never been told that he needed braces) Now, if she would have told me I had cavities I would have believed it without question! We felt like they were totally upselling us for everything they offer. Fast forward 6 months for our next cleaning, I started my search again. And I found Dr Park. I'm so happy I did! I had been told by the previous dentist that I would need a crown so I went totally anticipating getting one when to my surprise Dr Park told me that wouldn't be necessary (at least for the near future). I never thought I'd find another dentist like the one we had in NM but both my husband and myself are thrilled we did! Dr Parks staff is also so amazing! Me and my family have been coming to Total Dental Care for the past 4 years and we LOVE it!! Dr. Park is one of the best dentists I have seen in a VERY long time!! Let me tell why I came in to see him... I came to Dr. Park because a previous dental office told me that I had 10 cavities that needed to be filled...10!!! Never in my life have I had a dentist tell me that and I brush my teeth twice a day and floss, not to mention I always did my annual cleaning. The dentist also told me that I needed a deep cleaning which is a profound cleaning in which they even clean between the gums. Never have i needed that type of cleaning before. Something just didn't sit right with me after that visit. And after my insurance it was going to be more then $1000 for me to pay. I told myself I would never go back and would get a second opinion. Shortly after my husband told me he heard there was a good dental office in the area so he told me we should try it and see what they said. The receptionist at the time was super sweet and helpful. Now they have Jenny who is just as sweet and awesome! The visit- when Dr. Park checked my teeth he told me I only had 2 cavities and that I did not need a deep cleaning! I was so happy and relieved. Dr. Park tells you the truth about what u need to have done and doesn't want to take your money out of your pocket. He's my type of dentist!! The dental hygienist is such a sweetheart as well and knows her job well. I have even had my wisdom teeth taken out at this office and I felt no pain afterwards. It was a smooth experience! I recommend all my family and friends to go to Dr. Park because he knows what he is doing and is affordable, even for people without insurance. Dr park is a great dentist very patient w people who are a nervous wreck. He will never try to have you do work that is unnecessary like some dentist s do, if a tooth need work but can wait he tells you and he tries to save your teeth unlike some who want to get rid of a tooth or put a crown in when it was possible to save the tooth. I needed to get a crown and for financial reasons, I procrastinated. Fast forward, and now I need to have it pulled and get an implant (received 2 quotes from $5-7k!!!!!) After doing a lot of on line research, I came across this practice and called. Tye scheduled my appt and just over the phone he took so much time to explain the entire process. When he was giving me the cost of each step, I asked why they were so much less expensive than EVERYONE else.... He explained Dr Park teaches other dentists how to do implants; therefore gets them at a lower cost for his patients. I had my first appt with Dr Park and I am not exaggerating, in my 40+ years, this was the most positive experience I have EVER had at a dentist! The staff was ALL so kind and professional! Dr. Park took so much time with me. He was compassionate and thorough. I have learned my lesson- I need to take care of myself and my dental health. OK Yelpers! I am so surprised no one said anything about this dentist! Let me tell you my nightmare story & how Total Dental gave me a hope! I saw total of 5 dentists in last 2 months and here they are! 1. Grapevine dentist - heard the ad on K-love & decided to try. Took x-rays, he reviewed & told me I need two crowns. Total of $1200 after my insurance 2. W dental - Great people, very nice but as dentist work, not so good. He said no crown need it but just do filling. Bad idea. Shaved my own tooth instead of filling. High bite, instead of shaving filling, shaved my other crown on the bottom which he didn't work on. 3. Forest Lane dentist - my close friend recommended to me & she used him for 20 yrs. He did filling on molar & a tooth (#3 & #5). Gap was pretty bad, I went back & he fixed the filling on 2 teeth + a healthy good tooth to close the gap (this poor guy was stuck between other two damaged teeth). But still gap & high bite. By now, I knew it was my mistake to get 3rd time filling on my molar instead of just getting crown. Instead of going back to 3rd dentist, I checked 4th dentist to review my messed up teeth. I couldn't make myself to go back to a dentist who did filling on a good tooth. By now I am pretty much exhausted my insurance & all I got left is little over $300 coverage after last two dentists' aweful jobs. Top of that, I was starting to get teeth pain. I wasn't so sure if just a one tooth or all 3 filled teeth. It was somewhat bearable so I decided to find a dentist who can do my crown. Decided to go see 4th dentist. (Trust me! If you get so screwed by dentists, it is just hard to pick one after a bad experience) 4. HiQ dental - He was very nice & explained to me I need a crown for my molar & 2 teeth to front also need a crown. But he mentioned after we do crown & still pain, we might have to do root canal. He said the filling is too much for the molar. Filler covered about 90% of molar surface. Something told me (I will say it was a Holy Spirit!) just go see one more dentist just to confirm what I heard. So here comes my 5th dentist praying he will be a good one to keep. 5. Total Dental Care- Front desk jenny is very young but she knows what she is talking about. Very sharp lady! Dentist.... He was AWESOME! He took x-rays, explained to me what is going on, why I am getting this awful toothache. I told him I want to just pull all 3 teeth out. He pointed this one x-ray & told me "you need root canal before the crown because this!." He referred me to Dr. Chu who is endodontics specialist. The best part is Dr. Park is very honest & really cares for you than his pocket like some other sales dentists. I asked him he doesn't do root canal. He said he does it all but my molar needs special equipment to make sure no future issue. He gave me detail information why referred me to Dr. Chu & what I should expect. Started with 1 new crown & 1 old crown to be replacing to now root canal (over $1000 for root canal???? I almost fell out of my chair when I heard the price. Due to only $300 insurance coverage, my out of pocket will be over $1000) So for those who are looking for a good dentist you can trust who doesn't trying to sell you something, I would total recommend Total Dental. I still have crowns to get & my review can change but for so far, my miserable toothache is under control. read more

I must rave on Dr. Park and his staff. I am a nervous patient at the dentist. Dr.Park made sure I was informed of my insurance and my choices. Dr. Park has been my primary dentist for about 5 years and I will say with confidence I have never had any complaints about his abilities or the staff he has or works with. Very patient and kind. Works well with older ones and young ones. If you are looking for a great office then do not hesitate to come. I have visited other dental offices before coming here and by far this one surpassed the others in customer service and patient treatment. Total Dental Care accepts most major insurance companies but also work with those who don't. This is another reason I kept coming back. Also, the front office staff does very good with calling the insurance company and working with them. I appreciated that specially after where I work did a MAJOR change in insurance companies. Plus, I have family that do not have the luxury of having insurance and Total Dental Care was willing to work with them. I also appreciated that they were not trying to sell me or push treatments, braces or products on to me. So yes, this place should be 5 stars on yelp. read more

The last reviewer said front desk Jenny knew what she was talking about, but Jenny is a total dweeb who doesn't have a clue! Jenny has got to go! I was denied even making an appointment until they received pre-treatment authorization which according to my insurance company is ABSOLUTELY NOT REQUIRED! Jenny completely cost Total Dental Care a new patient by arguing with me over this. Moreover, she even refused to have her office manager call me as I had asked. I'll never go back. Unless you want to fight with some know it all creep who doesn't know crap, DON'T GO HERE! I'm posting the lies she said via email for all to see. I was told TWICE by my insurance company that what she's saying is untrue. My next steps are to forward her emails to MetLife and ask that they remove Total Dental Care as a plan provider/ I sincerely hope the Total Dental Care staff reads this review and realizes what a mistake it is to have this school girl ruining patient relationships! From Jenny: As we spoke earlier, according to insurance Repersentative the treatment codes for Bridge (D2950 Build up, D6751 Crown, and D6241 Pontic) require pre-authorization for Insurance to determine if this treatment is necessary [LIE #1]. Also pre-authorization will help us determine the actual amount of patient portion and insurance portion. Since pre-authorization is require from Metlife [LIE #2\ we would like to take their protocol [LIE #3} to be safe where you don't have to pay full cost of the treatment. Like I said it is still under process I'll call the insurance office on Thursday and update you on the process. I'm sorry to hear you are upset, unfortunately our office protocol is to submit pre determination for bridge, implant, denture and crown services. I did major work on my tooth which took me few months. I have been to many dentists before. However, no one did a better job than Dr. Park. Very friendly, sociable, and you won't feel much pain even for root canals. All staff are kind and I feel comfortable to be here every time I visit now for teeth cleaning. read more

This is a very comfortable office. The Hygienist was very nice and thorough. I had to get a filling last week and the Dentist was so gentle that i barely felt any pain and was numbed in no time. I also paid $83 after insurance but the total owed was $102. They let me pay what i could today and the rest later. Great place! read more

Dr Park is the finest dentist I have experienced in a really long time. He saved me from having bone graphs. I had 2 other dentists tell me in the past I had to have Oral surgery with possible bone graph etc....when all I needed was a deep gum cleaning and that was probably 5 years ago. I've been using Dr Park since then and will continue until I die. Seriously. He actually cares about you and the health of your teeth and gums. And he does exactly what you need without cheating you out of hundreds of dollars for something you didn't need. I had 2 crowns done yesterday and another about 2 years ago because some sorry dentist in the past put cheap crowns in my mouth I had to have redone because they chipped off. My husband also had a bridge done and the work was exceptional with no pain involved. Totally highly recommended this dentist and at my age of 54 years old, this is the first review I've done for a dentist because he's worth it. And he works with all dental insurance. read more
