I find this pretty ridiculous because literally McDonald's does modifications and it doesn't slow their kitchen down... we were not asking for anything extra, just to take things off. So we all had to pick off what we didn't want when it came, which is frustrating. Price was fair. Drinks were good but we had to wait a long time for them to come. A bar hotel will a pretty view (indoor and outdoor seating) of the river. It wasn't anything outstandingly amazing, but it was a good experience with a beautiful view. If you want a pretty river view with decently-priced drinks in indoor/outdoor seating, Top Deck works just fine. PROS: -A lovely view. We came when it was raining, so we didn't really get to use it, but the outdoor "deck" was fantastic. It's wrapped around and perfect for looking at the river. We saw a ton of tugboats and cranes and other river stuff. There are nice cushions for the outdoor chairs as well as tables to put your drinks down while you're outside. -Not a fan of outside? There's a very large and expansive indoor area as well. There is bar seating as well as table seating. The floor-to-ceiling windows still allow you to enjoy the view (while enjoying the AC at the same time) and there are multiple TVs within the indoor area as well. -Well-located. The base floor allows you to easily access the river and walk along the river. The mid-floor lobby level allows you to easily walk into the city when you're ready. A large parking lot outside serves as the hotel's parking lot but also allows for easy parking if you're the DD. -For a rooftop bar, the prices were pretty good for beers. We paid more at a restaurant the night before. And you get a bonus rooftop view here too! CONS: -Top Deck has a limited food menu, but it's particularly upscale food for a bar menu. You may or may not find food options that whet your appetite while you're there. There is a seafood-esque restaurant at the base floor of the hotel, though. read more

The view from Top Deck is stunning. We were shocked at how few people were here at sunset. We were greeted when we arrived and told we could seat ourselves. It took quite some time for someone to come and take our order. We ordered 2 Tito's martinis- up, dry and dirty with extra olives. Our waitress brought them out and said she forgot to ask how we wanted them garnished so she decided to garnish them with lime wedges. That's a first for us! She had a very good sense of humor and returned a few minutes later with dirty martinis garnished with olives Top Deck is hard to find which may explain why it wasn't packed. The music was great. Fabulous view!!!! I've been to a lot of places in Savannah in the last few years and this one just might have the best view in town. Now it's a little tricky to find. You have to enter The Cotton Sail Hotel and get into the elevator and take it to the top. Bring your ID. They have a guy at the entrance that checks your ID and gives you a stamp on the back of your hand. It's a little confusing when you get in there. There is a bar with tables around the bar and then there are tables all along the wrap around outside deck. We were inside at a table at first and it didn't seem that there is table service inside. A table outside opened up and we moved outside. That's where the best view is. Outside there are servers. The selection of beer is great. We ordered a yuengling, UFO and a Stella on draft. We were planning on going out for dinner later so we just ordered a Truffle Pretzel. It came with beer cheese, yellow mustard and hummus. The pretzel was great with the cheese and mustard. The hummus wasn't very good. The place is super busy so service is slow. Don't go when you are rushed on time. And try and go to see the sunset. You won't be disappointed! read more

I would not recommend this place even it were the last place in Savannah where I could eat or drink. We were supposed to have planned an event there. After weeks of planning or I should say attempting to plan and very little, if any response from the manager, who, by the way, would never give us his phone number, only email. We were concerned that if we did not have good service before the event, that the event would be a complete disaster. Two weeks before the event we reneged, and they still tried to charge us $500 for services that were never rendered. Contracts were never presented or signed. More often than not, they completely ignored tables with customers, and failed to clean tables after customers left. We had a great view from our outdoor seats along the edge of the roof. However, I'm not sure if they were understaffed, but we had to wait over 30 min to even be acknowledged or be able to order anything. At one point, my fiancé went to the bar himself to order drinks and some food and he was told if we wanted food, we needed to order with a server outside. We finally got drinks after flagging down a server and they were actually very good. However, we never got the appetizer we ordered. My wife and I had family in town so we decided to take them up to Top Deck for a sunset toast. When we arrived, the guy at the front podium just grunted when I said hello and we went off to find seats outside. We found a table and a short while later menus were offered. We ordered a bottle of wine and began to watch the sunset. It literally took about 25 minutes for the wine to arrive. I've been here several times and on this visit, the place was no where near as busy as I've seen it previously. After missing a sunset toast, the wine arrived. The waitress goes "oh the one you ordered wasn't stocked so I brought this instead" as she pours four glasses. We weren't offered a chance to taste the replacement or an apology for the wait or substitution. As she poured the last glass, she spilled almost half of it on the table. Her response: "Oh shit" not, "oh shit, I'm sorry" or "let me clean that up" or even "oh shit, I'm a shitty waitress." I have been to top deck many times and was so excited to bring my friends from out of town! I love the views, the mimosa towers, the specialty drinks, the atmosphere etc- but unfortunately I went recently and was disappointed. The drinks were great but the service was not how it usually is. There was a bartender that I have never seen before who was very rude to my friends and family. It was the first place we went to for the night and I was so embarrassed because of how we were treated. The bartender must have been having a bad day (she was very snappy and didn't even look at us). I tried to lighten up the mood by asking how she was doing and she just rolled her eyes at the group (short hair gal). I am disappointed because this was somewhere I usually take my friends... Will try again soon because usually a great time but sadly this time was not:(. Other than that- sitting outside with family and friends was great. Hopefully next time is better! read more

We wanted to check out Top Deck because we had been told it's one of the best rooftop views in Savannah and the views alone are definitely worth the visit alone. We got a great table outside and the patio area of the rooftop bar was pretty full for a Monday around 6pm with only a few guests staying inside where the views are still nice. The wait staff was friendly and offered up some drink selections and I took her recommendation to get the Top Deck Mojito. It had Acai Spirit, Coconut Rum, Mint, Berries, and Lime. The berry flavor makes it a little non traditional for a Mojito but overall it was a decent drink. My boyfriend had an Old Fashioned with a Savannah Bourbon which was a heavy pour (something he appreciates) and enjoyed it. We decided to split the pretzel as an appetizer before leaving for our dinner reservation. It was served with hummus, mustard, and beer cheese. The pretzel was kind of bland and dry while none of the dips really impressed us. Overall Top Deck is worth checking out for a drink but didn't blow us away by any means. Came here to grab a quick drink with my partner before we were headed to my work Charity Gala and I was pleasantly surprised that he even found this place because I was expressing how I wanted to go somewhere nice and quiet to grab a quick drink before going. A beautiful view with a spectacular sunset definitely a perfect way to kick off the night. I had a vodka tonic and he had a local IPA and we weren't disappointed.
