I certainly enjoyed my LTC course. Cody was amazing and really put his heart into teaching us this class. It was also very entertaining! He gave us his bullet points step-by-step instructions after the class and they were clear and concise on how to go about getting your license after taking and passing the course. Kudos to Cody and to Top Gun for having this young man in their arsenal. I can't wait to go back to Top Gun with my daughter and other members of my family to have a little fun. The location is perfect in the Galleria on some of the side streets off Richmond. The lanes are adequate but you definitely need ear and eye protection. Today Is September 13 2020 My wife and I came to this range to purchase ammo and were only allowed to buy two boxes of ammo a piece during the COVID crisis. That was no problem and completely understandable, but this business told us that if we choose to buy ammo we had to get individually charged a range fee for buying ammo. Basically they are up selling their ammo and that is completely unacceptable. I have bought ammo from different ranges around the Houston area and they did not force us to use their range or accept a fee. In a time of crisis I would imagine someone helping more than taking away from good citizens who barley have anything. They won't receive my business nor any from my comrades again. I went to this facility with my boyfriend and a couple friends. It was my friends first time to shoot a gun so we were excited to teach ehr. I had my own handguns so we did not have to rent. It was about 15 dollars per person and each person got a target of your choosing. The staff was very friendly and the space was great. Well organized and setup well for customers. The staff was articulate about entering the gun range area with instructions and rules of use. I have never been to an indoor facility, seeing as in Wyoming I stick to the outdoor shooting areas but Texas is TOO hot for that. I would say this indoor space was especially brisk so I am glad that I brought a little jacket. I was also happy the staff wasn't all up in our grills knowing we had a person with us new to the firearms world. They respected our space and could tell I was pretty well versed in firearms and let us to our own doing. First time shooting a gun at a gun range. I've shot guns before but always been handed to me loaded and told how to shoot. So, I was a little nervous going not knowing much. When you walk in make sure you sign the waiver forms on the two computers on the left hand side before heading to the counter. Once you do that head to the counter and get in line (which moves fairly quickly) once you are being attended they ask you about your history with guns and "test" you. Once you are good to go you can pick what kind of gun you would like to rent. Since it was my first time they suggested a 9mm and thought me on how to hold it and shoot it. All of this made me feel a lot better and more at ease. My boyfriend and I had to wait about 20 minutes for a lane to open up but we were watching the other shooters so the went by faster. Overall, the knowledge of the staff made this experience fun. The prices are affordable but it does add up. Next time we will take our guns so we won't spend as much. read more

We took the private basic handgun class with Tanner and absolutely LOVED IT. I can't believe how much I learned in an hour and a half, and how comfortable I was with everything by the end of it. He was an amazing instructor from start to finish, and was extremely professional and knowledgeable. He explained the 'why' behind all of the rules and safety measures, made sure my boyfriend and I were completely comfortable the entire time, and always told us what to expect so we were prepared and not caught off guard. This is a nice range. However, I have found some of their employees to be helpful and not egotistical and some to be the exact opposite. Now, being a gun range and store - I understand this business deals with the public and this is a place where things need to be taken seriously. I also believe they deal with a wide range of people, Some of which probably have little to no experience buying or using a gun. That being said, I purchased a long gun and had them broker the sale without a CHL and I found of the two employees helping me one was quite nice and accommodating, wile the other treated me with skepticism and asked me questions that were out of line with current gun laws in Texas. After being treated with skepticism, i was asked by the employee helping me before I left with long gun in hand: "if I was planning to head directly home and not make any stops on for my way with my gun purchase" ....this is no business of theirs and I am not a child, no are you my father and I passed all checks and therefore determined to be a lawful and appropriate owner. Why not treat people who share your same hobbies and interest with more respect and a general good will? This will bring the community of gun owners together. It would therefore, increase your business and the level of respect your business gives and receives. You should seek to educate and help customers. They usually look to you as an authority already, you have nothing to prove with your wittiness or uncaring demeanor. Please have all employees read and reread the current Texas transport laws. I was in town visiting from Cali. The facility is great compared to Cali, and vegas. I did a pistol rental, signed the wavier and was good. Guys at the counter were helpful and allowed me to try different ones and they got a good selection. I tried the MP2.0 4 inch. Love how the the pistol shot but man it jammed alot. Ive been to this facility several times now. The staff are very nice and knowledgeable. The faculty is very clean and hasn't been very crowded during the week but can be pretty packed on the weekends in the afternoons. They have a comfortable waiting area with a tv if you do need to wait. Took the License to Carry class and an introduction to handgun class. Cody taught both of those classes. The license to carry class was way better than I expected. I was anticipating a long and monotonous teacher but Cody was very informative and entertaining at the same time. He provided real life examples to help you understand the laws in place. He answered any questions the class asked (and there were a lot) and would go more in depth in areas when needed. The introduction to handguns class also taught by Cody was INCREDIBLY helpful. I have shot handguns before but didn't necessarily feel very comfortable with them. He helped me feel much more comfortable with a gun and my aim was much better afterwards. He kept thins simple and to the point, didn't inundate me with tons of information. Whether it's a class or just going there to practice, I highly recommend top gun. read more

Brandon was my teacher and I enjoyed him greatly! He took the time to answer my questions & really taught me how to hold the gun with a firm grip. This was my first time at a shooting range and my first time ever holding a gun. When I arrived it was a little busy, but someone was able to help me right away. I had to take a short introductory class to introduce me to gun safety and how to handle a gun, however the class was much needed and very thorough. My instructor was Thomas, he was very helpful and eased a lot of my fears. I was very nervous about shooting a gun, loading it and checking to make sure all the bullets were out of the chamber. But after a few practice rounds I was more comfortable with everything. The sound of all the guns going off was kind of nerve racking and scared me a little bit yet, I totally recommend this place though! read more

AMAZING. I took the handgun course and they helped me learn EVERYTHING about a handgun. I loved it so much I had to go back for a reload.

Worst Range in Houston! If you are bringing your own weapon to shoot DO NOT GO HERE! They will literally skip everyone "on queue" and prioritize people who are leasing their guns. We waited 2 hours before demanding a refund and leaving this range. There were 4 other customers who did this while we were there. They claim it's because they're "busy" but they just don't care for your 17$ range fee while they can make triple on leasing their own guns. RIDICULOUS! Also it's extremely hood. There's almost no rules once you enter. There's no limit on how many people can be at one range, and you're basically squeezing through people to move in and out of the lanes. It's actually very UNSAFE and GROSS. FYI - They charge 40$ for 50Rnds of 9mm range ammo. Never coming back here. read more

Too expensive. Other places in Houston are way cheaper. The customer service was crap. The guy was an a**hole to my Gf and my other friends. Bought a 4 person pass from Groupon: - Said it comes with a gun, ammo, eye and ear protection for everyone. - The guy only gave all four of us 1 gun and a limited amount of ammo. Had to rent out other 2 guns and buy more ammo. - Apparently still charged us tax for the Groupon deal. - Did not properly train anyone to use the gun because one person knew how to. - if you want training, it's $50 per person extra. Worst place I have ever been. Going back to Full Armor in Katy, much cheaper and better customer service than Top gun. read more

My family had a good experience at Top Gun. The staff was very friendly (although they were a bit flustered when I arrived as they appeared to be very busy) and they were trying to get to everyone. If you haven't been before / in the last year they have a new online system which you have to agree to the range rules and sign away your life about not suing etc. My main complaint is that it's a little expensive. Lane fee's were $15 a person per hour (although they can be flexible on the time depending on how busy they are). I've been to many places where it's just a flat fee of $15 per lane which is more of what I'm used to. Overall the lanes are in good shape although I wish that people / staff kept the back walk space a little more clear. There were shells all over the place which made walking a little difficult but whatever, people should clean up after themselves. I do wish that there was more space in the back to place your extra targets, bags, cases etc. I will return. read more

Went here today for a corporate outing to show some of our international colleagues what Texas is all about. Couldn't have asked for a better time! JR was super helpful in going over the safety rules and giving advice on which guns to rent. We decided on a sig pistol and a tommy gun (full auto;) ) I also brought an AR and 10/22. What i like most about this place is that rapid fire is allowed and range marshals are not breathing down your neck as long as you show basic firearm competency. JR did a great job in showing our less experienced guys how to shoot the full auto thompson. Thanks for a great afternoon JR and the rest of the top gun team, will definitely be returning! read more

I feel like August 10, 2019 was the day I officially became a real Texan. That was the day I passed the license to carry class. Cody was my instructor. Yes, he was informative. Yes, he was well qualified. Yes, he was even pretty entertaining with his stockpile of dad-jokes. But most importantly, he was passionate about both the rights and responsibilities incumbent on those who choose to legally carry a firearm. The class was lighthearted, but the subject matter was taken very seriously -- and rightly so. Cody taught us from personal experience how to properly use the new tool we would now have in our personal-protection toolboxes. It is a tool that comes with heavy responsibilities and one that can have grave legal and psychological consequences if employed improperly. I walked out of that class better prepared to accept that responsibility, and, God forbid, those consequences if necessary to protect myself and my loved ones. We owe Cody a debt of gratitude: he spent his Saturday making our society a marginally safer place for me, my classmates, our families, and our fellow law-abiding Americans. It is a good and honorable deed, so if you see him shake his hand -- and if you employ him, toss him a bonus ;) read more
