They kept my car for two days and charged me $200 just to "run tests." After that, they told me I needed a start sensor, new spark plugs, and an engine carbon cleaning -- with a total estimate of over $1,300. I specifically asked them to tell me only what was necessary to get my car running properly. Their response was, "We can leave the spark plugs and it will still be $800 for the sensor and carbon cleaning." At that point, I felt extremely uncomfortable and pressured, and it seemed like I was being overcharged. I decided to get a second opinion from Elite Exhaust & Brake in Plano, and the difference was shocking. They quickly diagnosed the issue and fixed the problem by replacing the start sensor for $280 -- that's it. No upselling, no unnecessary work. I had to be towed an hour to get there. They diagnosed the problem quickly, had the parts brought even quicker and I was out there door with peace of mind for my holiday travels. They advised future issues that might come up, honored their parts and service with a warranty and have a very nice waiting room where I could work. However, the other guys did not install my manual shifter correctly after 2 attempts & having my car for over 1.5 months. The shifter when installed correctly, is supposed to prevent anyone from going to into reverse instead of 1st gear. I was told to drive it a bit & bring it back, that happened twice. The problem was never fixed. You would think they would work on it right away since they had already received my payment but my car was thrown to the back of the line. After literally being bribed by one of the service managers, which I provided proof to the manager, the shifter installed incorrectly & being without my car for a long time due to all of the errors, I regret the day I let them work on my car.

Turns out it was the water pump, and it was throwing a code for the fan clutch, so he suggested I replace that as well - since it had to come off to get the new water pump in anyway. The new fan clutch was unbalanced and failed after driving for a day, ripping its own harness off, causing a short that prevented the vehicle from starting once I arrived home. I called and talked to Elite Performance, and they had my vehicle towed back in to repair it. They switched to another brand of fan clutch and replaced it at no charge. Stand-up guys! I will be taking it back to get the engine tuned soon.
