Happy Motoring is a very trustworthy mechanic with great service and quality of work. I first used them over a year ago and they replaced an electronic control module (ECM) on the car. I hadn't had any issues with the vehicles transmission since and the price was very fair. This week I had issues with power steering where it would work intermittently. I brought the vehicle in worried I might need to drop hundreds or more on a 13 year old car. The shop identified the issue as a loose connection on the battery terminal and tightened it down at no charge. For all I knew, they could have easily said it was something else and charged hundreds to fix or at the very least charged me for 1/2 an hour of labor, but they didn't. The name Happy Motoring is new to the Wylie area, But Brian the owner and lead mechanic has 30yrs+ working on all type of vehicles. His shop is very clean and if you need to wait for a repair he has a very clean decorated waiting room. There are lost of cool model cars in his front cabinet and really awesome art deco style automotive pictures on the walls. I have several vehicles that he has done work on. They have had all kinds of differant problems like, wiring , brakes, complete front-end rebuilds, check engine diagnosis, and things I thought I could do myself but ended up needing him to fix and repair right(lesson learned stick to what you know!") The great thing is He's honest and WILL NOT try to sell you something your vehicle does not need. When he if finished with your vehicle he always says "HAPPY MOTORING!!" hence the name. If your in business for yourself you know how hard it is to get started and grow. Another update. We still go to Happy Motoring for everything we need when it comes to car repair. We are still very happy with the service and the prices. I don't pause in enough in life to be thankful for the good things, so I'm taking a moment now to say that I'm thankful to have an excellent place to take our vehicles, with skilled mechanics that do a great job for a great price. I pulled into this shop, thinking I had a front end issue. One of the mechanics spotted my bad tire, instantly. Instead of putting it on the rack and finding several hundred dollars worth of repairs, they directed me to a tire shop. I replaced the tire and the issue was resolved. First, let me start off by saying I don't normally do positive YELP reviews. I'm guilty of being one of those that expect good service, but will complain about poor service. Second, I know enough about cars to work on them myself. I'm not a mechanic by trade, just for hobby. I can count on one hand how many times I've taken a car to a mechanic (not counting oil changes). So it was difficult for me to find a mechanic for my 2003 civic. A local parts house suggested HAPPY. I think the comment from the guy behind the counter was "I don't let anyone work on my truck, but I will take it to HAPPY." I called them at 7:30 Monday morning, half expecting to hear something like "can you bring in the car this afternoon?" or "i'm booked right now, bring it to me tomorrow." Instead I heard "bring it to me now." I told him I would drop it off sometime in the morning. When I arrived the owner (Brian?) was already walking out saying "is that the mis-firing civic?" He took me into the office to get the keys and info. But more importantly, he wanted to know what was wrong with the car. HE ACTUALLY LISTENED to everything I told him what the car was doing, and what I had done. He asked questions! Many mechanics will just get the info then say "ok, leave me the keys and we'll take a look at it." You want your doctor to ask a lot of questions, so why wouldn't a mechanic do the same? HAPPY works on all types of cars. He had everything from a new, exotic Lotus, a Honda Odyssey minivan, and a classic El Camino. He was fair and honest. I hope this review helps someone like me, who hesitates taking their car to a mechanic because they feel a mechanic will just try and get more money from them and not do a good job. Give Brian and HAPPY automotive a try. I guarantee I will be returning for even jobs I may feel comfortable doing myself, but I know my money will be well spent having it done at HAPPY. read more

I will literally not take my vehicle to anyone else. Brian is a fantastic mechanic - was able to think outside box and find the problem that we were having with our Tahoe. While others continued to try and sell me a variety of parts that may or may not have been the issue, Brian took the time (and had the necessary knowledge) to discern what the root of the problem actually was and had me back on the road with no further problem. Plus, he did it at a more than reasonable price and was super fast. I have called him in trouble on a couple of occasions and his response is ALWAYS, "Bring it over to me." He works us in and gets us back on the road quickly. Unlike so many national franchise garages, he has never taken advantage of the fact that I am a woman who knows absolutely nothing about cars and tried to up-sell me extra unnecessary parts or services just to make a buck. Brian -- What a great guy and the other workers there also are nice. I pulled up at 4:15 yesterday without an appointment. Never been here before but have driven by many times. I have a little not expensive battery cable problem that needs fixed. So, I pop in, expecting to have to bring the car back so they can look at it, and expecting the well if this then this $$... Brian and his worker came out right away, looked at the battery cables, cut a few pieces of tape off, clean it up, put a new connector on the battery or something. All while I waited, very nice and 20 mins later the cost was only $20. I know my first experience was not major work but Brian and his team were great, quick and seemed to know what they are doing. I will take my old Honda Accord there for any small fixes and I'll give them an oppty to fix the big stuff also, fingers crossed no big stuff is necessary! We went back there recently because the air conditioning in my vehicle went out and he took a look at it and gave me a call back to tell me that I need to check the factory warranty on the vehicle since he believes it is still under warranty. WOW is about all I can say about this place. It is not your typical sleazy car shop. From the moment I walked in, it was a great experience. Rex met me at the counter and asked what was going on with my car and said he could take a quick look, and I was like...."NOW? Really? I don't have to leave it?" Within a couple of minuites, Brian came back in and had diagnosed my problem, and it wasn't the starter or the alternator as 2 other mechanics has told me, but just needed a new battery. That was fantastic news. Not only that, he said he had already ordered the battery, and it would be there within a few minutes. Another WOW..."I DONT's have to leave my car for hours on end for you to fix it moment." I had several other questions about repairs that mechanics had said I needed. His answer was "your car has 160K miles on it....you don't need to fix those things unless you REALLY wanted to spend the money." My car quit on me on a Saturday night. Luckily at a major Auto Parts Store. The Technician took a look at it and immediately diagnosed it. He charged me up enough for me to make it home and I had my car towed on Monday to Happy Motoring. I spoke with Brian over there and he fixed me right up. Great service!! We were referred to see Rex and Brian when we had an issue with one of our cars. We took it to Happy Motoring and they did a great job! A couple weeks later, we took another car in to have them look over it. My husband and I couldn't believe the price! Any where else it would have been double...or triple!
