Went in for a simple oil change and left with a check engine light on. After checking under the hood myself, I found a hose port disconnected. Apparently while struggling to remove the air filter to sell me a new one, they loosened the hose and never bothered reconnecting it. Very careless work and disappointing service. This was the worst experience. I would have given zero stars if possible! The main guy (young man, Caucasian, strawberry blond with big blue eyes) was EXTREMELY RUDE to me. I pulled in and asked for an oil change and an inspection because I need to renew registration. I then said hold off on the inspection because I just got it done last year and I know you can renew online with an inspection that is only one year old. He proceeded to say to me "When was the last time you got your car registered because they won't do it without an inspection because they only last 90 days". I just said I don't think that's correct but go ahead and do it. Then comes the outragious prices...I said wow thats quite expensive then the kid I am talking about says in a smart ass tone "have you had your oil changed lately because these are the prices we have had" I responded that I had it changed regularly at Lavon Tire (BEST place ever worth the drive and I will only go there from now on)...I told him that their prices are a fraction of what this place charges and he got offended and started arguing with me about the prices. Finally I just said could you change the oil and stop? I was so irritated with him at this time I wanted to just leave. I hope the owner sees this because I assure you your business is NOT doing well with people like that working for you. I will tell everyone I know to avoid this location completely. Is there a way to give less than 1 star?? My wife went in for an oil change and they royally screwed her car up. After we got the car back, it started leaking oil. Came to find out they did not install the filter correctly. What was the result? The engine seized up. When we called initailly, they tried to give us the run around and say it wasn't their fault. Eventually they owned up and decided to replace her engine since IT WAS THEIR FAULT. Great, right? Nope, they found some used POS motor in some junk yard that already had issues with it and proceeded to install that as the "new" engine. Guess what happened - that engine failed after about 3-4 days and had to be replaced as well. This time we had a professional mechanic replace the engine for us and bill them for the cost. The staff are too busy hitting on the female customers to do their jobs correctly and the result is poor service and extremely expensive and time consuming repairs. If you like a soul sucking experience, by all means visit this establishment. If you want good, quality work done, run from this place and go elsewhere. read more

Not Take5 these guys try to upsell unrequired services and they do not fix issues they create. Just recently went there and they installed the oil plug incorrectly and it created a bad leak. Took it back, they told me it was leaking before I brought it in. It was not. Took to my mechanic and he said the oil drain plug was put in incorrectly. I had also just replaced the coolant before going in and they said it was needing to be replaced according to their test. I tested it myself with two different testers and it tested full strength both times. Tried to reach out to corporate and manager of the shop and two weeks later still no response. Went there since they opened but I am done and would encourage others to avoid Take5. They overcharge and under deliver. read more

Avoid this place like the plague!!!! This is now the second time in a row that my daughter has gone there to get the oil changed and they have lied to her just to get an up sale. The first time they told her that her care requires required the most expensive oil they sale ($122.99). Then they told her that she needed some other things too and when she initially declined, they used scare tactics to convince her. Ending out being around $300 This time she went and she told them just the oil change. She requested the $86.99 one and again they told her that her maxima REQUIRES the most expensive oil. When she told them that she had talked to me and that I told her which one to use, they told her that that oil would make her motor blow up and that she needed the most expensive oil. I am done with this place. I get everyone is trying to make money in this economy but to straight out lie to people especially a young female is so disappointing. Took my new truck there to get an oil change. Shortly after I was leaking oil on my driveway. Took it back and they told me that it was just drops of oil that were around the engine that got mixed with water and everything looked good. I didn't buy it but they wouldn't admit to any mistakes. This was a brand new engine and its first oil change. Came home a week later and oil is still leaking all over my driveway. My wife went to this location today. We are driving a 2022 F150, and she was told that there is some special part that they do not have and that she needed to go get in order to get her oil changed at anyone other than the dealership. This was absolutely not true. After extensive research, and finally, of course, finding another place who could simply do the oil change, I now know that that was absolutely incorrect information. There needs to be a better training program so that your customers are not sent on a wild goose chase trying to find some mythical part that is not needed. if you do not know a lot about cars yourself, in order to question what someone says, do not take the risk of using this business. You may not get an accurate story. In order to follow up, I made several calls to the location, which got routed to voicemail. No return calls. I finally gave up. read more

Paid over $100 for my synthetic oil change for my Lexus. I usually get 5k miles out of this. My new sticker showed I needed to change it in 3k miles.... I confronted the lady and she said "the 3k miles reminds you to get a top off at that mileage but yes you come back in 5k miles." I looked at it again and it said "reminder for oil change" and so I asked her AGAIN just to get clarity..... she said just add 2k to the sticker she gave me. I'm 32 years old. I've been getting oil changes for how many years now? I go by the mileage the sticker says not reminding myself to do math every time after looking at the sticker. She also asked if I wanted to change my filter if she gave me $10 off. I said yes and she never took off the discount. Please hire more educated people. that was probably the most uncomfortable oil change I've ever had. it was my understanding that the guys working had not gotten a lunch break which is understandable but as a customer who is already in the bay, it was not my fault. I would have rather been told to come back in 30 minutes and they take their break than for myself and child in the car to have to listen to all the ways TAKE 5 screwed them over sometime using words I would not have liked my child to hear. It made me very uncomfortable. Hoping it was an isolated incident and they can get their scheduling figured out. read more

Had a fantastic experience today. Drove up and was in and out in 10 min as promised. Noah and his partner were friendly and honest. They were not pushy about new wipers or a new air filter. They showed me both and advised they were still good. Took the time to explain the different oils and made his recommendation based on my driving habits. DO NOT GO HERE! Would give 0 Stars if possible. My 16-year-old son went here for an oil change and inspection. He came home with a $300 bill and telling us Take 5 told him to add brake fluid to be able to pass his inspection. After talking with my son, this location told him he needed a coolant flush on his older car and if he didn't do this service his car would either not turn on or ruin his engine. They also told him he wouldn't pass inspection but to go top off his brake fluid and he would pass. When I went up to talk to the manager, they said he looked at their reading for the coolant and approved (Which he did) but could not provide a failure sheet for his inspection (So we could see why they failed him). He basically gave me some bogus number to call which I haven't been able to get ahold of anyone or received a call back. We took it to Kwik Kar 30 minutes later, and they passed it with no issues and said we shouldn't top off the brake fluid as we probably needed pads replaced in the next 6 months and that was why it looked low. They did point out all the spilled coolant and oil in the engine compartment and oily handprints all over the hood, so I got to spend the afternoon cleaning up Take 5's mess. Overall, just felt like they took advantage of a young kid by scaring him. Good lesson for him as there are dishonest people all over and to find a mechanic you trust in the future. read more

Took my car to the sachse Take 5. I peeled off the old oil change reminder as I was several months past due. Bryan asks me puzzled - when was the last time You had your oil changed? I was embarrassed and admitted it was waaaay over due. He looked puzzled again and said the oil was super clean. He even asked another worker to take a look. They both agreed it could not have been more than several weeks. I called my son and asked him. He said his dad changed it for me a few weeks ago! Ha! Who knew? On January 9th we took our car here for a simple oil change. On January 25th, while driving the skid plate almost came off completely. Pulled over and it was barely held on with one screw. The metal skid plate has to be removed to access the oil filter, so we know that this was negligent on the part of people that did the oil change on Jan 9th. They obviously either did not replace all the screws or left some/all of them loose. We called immediately during business hours and left a voicemail. Called again, the following morning and spoke to an associate. She tried contacting the manager, and it went to voicemail. She said she would make a note, and he would call back. Later in the afternoon (still no call back), we called again and another associate took our information down again. Still no call back. Either they have no manager, no ability to contact their manager, or their manager just does not care. I do not recommend this location. read more

I had one good experience here but when I went back the next time, I decided I was done. I went to have my car inspected. I waited for awhile to have my car inspected which I was fine with at the time. When I got in for my turn, the first thing I had to do was step on my brakes to make sure the lights worked. However, when the boy came around to my window he said I failed because my license plate lights did not work. I drove away confused and baffled because I have never had a car with this issue EVER. As I thought about it, I figured out that they didn't light up because my lights were not on! I didn't need my headlights on since it was daytime so when he walked around my car, they were not on. I went home and immediately turned my lights and the license plate lights were on! I am shocked that a mechanic at this store didn't know that and failed me. A week later I went back to have it inspected again. I told another employee what happened and he told me no one would have told me that. He completely dismissed it. Anyway I decided to try and get it inspected again. BUT this time their inspection machine was down and I was told it would be hours before it rebooted. So needless to say, I moved on and will not be going back. I like a bit more knowledge from the people changing my oil and/or working with cars in general. read more
