I'm currently awaiting an appointment with a podiatrist to see about just getting the affected toenails completely removed. Without warning, he started clipping them off and then used an old artificial nail to pry the remaining acrylic from my natural nail. I was looking down at my phone when I suddenly felt intense pain. When I looked up, my natural nail had been cut open and was bleeding. The technician asked if I was scared. I told him, "No, I'm not scared, I'm in pain." I also explained that this was not the proper way to remove acrylic nails. Instead of stopping, he attempted to continue. At that point, I told him not to touch my nails and that they needed to be soaked off properly. As a licensed cosmetologist and salon owner, I understand professional sanitation and safety procedures. The way my nails were being removed was unacceptable and resulted in an injury. Another staff member eventually took over, but what disappointed me most was that no one apologized for hurting me or acknowledged what had happened. Accidents can happen, but professionalism, concern for the client, and accountability matter. Unfortunately, I did not receive any of those things during my visit.

The shaping and artwork were both decent, so I think this is a fault of the products they use in the salon. She tried to show him her nails in a very low voice so that his customers would not hear her. He responded by becoming belligerent and rude. He refused to look at her nails , spoke to her in a disrespectful manner and proceeded to yell at her. So ,she did not respond to him, but returned to the outside to wait for her Dial a Ride van. While waiting for her Dial a Ride van, she began to have trouble breathing!! She returned inside, told the owner that she was having trouble breathing and asked him to call 911 or Parimetcs. He refused to call for help. She returned outside where she called and one of his customers came out and called for her. She was also kind enough to wait with her until the paramedics came and took her to the hospital. Should a person like this salon owner , even be in a public service business? Is it ok for him to treat his customers like this? Why would he not call for help for her? It can't be because of her behavior as she was polite and tried not to disturb his customers. Was it because of her age?? Her gender?? Her race?? Or, is he just a "Disrespectful Jerk"? I don't want to support a business that treats its customers as he does. Where is this man's humanity?
