This place is fantastic! I went here three weeks ago for a fill on my acrylics with shellac on top and they still look incredible. I only need to go back in to take off some of the length but I have zero chips, no lifting near my cuticles, and the color is still vibrant. Wow. Just wow. Really great experience. Upon walking in the salon is in the small side. And they don't have a front desk. The ladies there just greet you upon walking in. It's definitely nothing fancy but trust me the service is fantastic. I needed to get a fill and decided to get a pedicure first. My pedicure was amazing and very quick. I love this shop! Ahn does my nails and is amazing! I get acrylic nails with shellac (this last set we also did a chrome powder) and I never leave with uneven mis-shaped nails or bubbled polish. After seeing the reviews I decided to try out Top Nails. I've been looking for somewhere in the Queen Anne/Magnolia area that can do chrome nails or matte nails. I made an appointment but had to reschedule and they were nice. My cuticles look great. Tran did a great job on them. She shaped my nails well. Thy have a ton of gel colors. I was overwhelmed at how many colors. They can also do Carter which I may try next. Price for a matte shellac manicure with the diamonds was $30. My only complaint is one of the diamonds is slightly off the tip of my nail so the diamonds don't match. If I would've notice while Tran did it I would've said something. That's really the only negative that I have and I don't think it's a huge deal. Tran was polite. I would go back and check them out again for a pedicure and another manicure in a few weeks. read more

Decided to check out this nail salon because of its proximity to my apartment, reasonable prices, and good recent reviews. Conveniently located on Roy Street next to Met Market. Scheduled a Saturday appointment for a pedicure and shellac manicure. Glad I did, though they were taking walk-ins as well (15-30min wait). Approx 4 pedicure stations and 4 nail stations. Smelled of chemicals when I walked in but they had the door open. Color selection is good, not extensive but I found colors I liked. First shellac color I picked was dried out and I needed to pick a different color. Pedicure was good, not rushed. Shellac manicure with Anh was also well done, clean lines and 3 coats. Services completed separately, I was at the salon for about an hour and a half. $50 for both services (paid with credit card). Worth noting, neither included a paraffin dip or massage (which I have enjoyed at other salons for no add'l charge). They overtly ask you to pay in cash (both in writing on the reception desk and in person if you try to pay with card). I don't mind - I get it - but others may not. Didn't have enough cash for everything but I at least tipped in cash. I'd go back if I was in the area and craving a mani pedi because the end result was good. Though I do appreciate the included massages and perks offered at other places. All in all, solid 4 stars. read more

I was in need of a mani/pedi and had been wanting to try Top Nails after passing by multiple times. I called a couple hours ahead of time and they were able to fit me in last minute. The salon was fairly busy when I walked in and I was greeted to then pick my color. I only had to sit for a minute or so before being escorted to one of the massage chairs. I believe Tran or Lan was my nail tech and did a great job! I would say the full mani/pedi took almost 90 minutes which is a little longer than anticipated. However, she definitely paid attention and ensured she did a fantastic job. Agreed with some people on here that the salon could be cleaned up a bit. However, not terrible compared to other salons I've been to. The total for a shellac mani/regular pedi was $50. I didn't notice but they charge a 3% fee for using a credit card so be wary of this when visiting. They asked for cash but I didn't see the sign until I was already there. EXACTLY what I wanted!! Ahn delivered! The reviews are true! I have not had acrylic nails in 20 years. With the resurgence of newer versions and styles back in fashion, I decided to get them again. I have been getting shelac done for years but tired of my nails getting so weak and cracking low. I have read reviews and looked through tons of pictures for acrylics, and Ahn has the most positive reviews with the happiest customers of places in Seattle. I liked the look of all of her creations and could tell she was good. I looked on Pinterest for the style I wanted, (Ballerina) and I showed her the picture, and they came out perfect! She was fast, detailed, and kept checking with me to make sure that I liked the length and the shape as she worked. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5, is I question how thorough they clean in between each client. The work station had acrylic powder everywhere when I sat down. I just wish they would take more time to wipe each work station down. Honestly though, I will go back to her anyway because she did such a good job. I was prepared that they may be too thick, but they aren't at all! And based on the other reviews I read on her, she can make them however you want! I had super thick SNS powder from a different salon (the other salon ignored my wishes to keep my nails thin & to NOT use SNS), and my nail tech was very attentive and careful about sanding it down to a more realistic thin nail for each finger. We are gonna let the SNS grow out as removal will leave my nails brittle and prone to breakage. I am SO much happier with my manicure! This review is only for a pedicure. I think acrylics might be their bread and butter, but I cant speak to that. Usually I'm a trend-follower and like things that other people like on Yelp. No so with Top Nails. Here is why: -It's tiny and dirty. Tiny needs no explanation, dirty does. There were callous shaving (you read that right) on the ground when we sat down. The waiting chairs are about 3 feet in front of the pedicure chairs (remember, it's tiny) and the callous shavings were EVERYWHERE!! That's gross enough, but as we were waiting someone began half-heartedly sweeping up the callous zest. Since it was right by the waiting room chairs, she swept some of them RIGHT ONTO OUR FEET! Gross, right? I could have gotten up to leave, but I didn't since we had walked all the way here to enjoy their 4 glorious stars. -They were slow to start on us even after we moved from the waiting chairs. The water in my footbath was uncomfortably cold by the time they began (I know, first world problem). The massage was short and meh, like other people have said. -Worn- The massage chairs here have seen some years. The cushions are worn and discolored and some of the control buttons didn't work on my chair. -Let's go back to dirty, just for a sec. The lady doing my pedicure was very nice! Not talkative or friendly, but nice. There was no sign of disinfecting liquid to soak things in... uh oh. Then my nice lady dropped a brush on the ground. On the dirty, callous zesty ground that was powdery white from dead skin cells. Without batting an eyelash, she picked it up, wiped it on the dry towel my feet were on, and continued using it on my feet. Sigh. My friend and I paid our $20 (so cheap!) and tipped $5 each because our ladies were nice enough. I set both credit receipts on the table she pointed to (I remember specifically because I made two 180 degree turns to do this. Then as we were leaving we had a bizarre altercation, where they thought one of us was trying to stiff them. They kept saying they needed the second receipt, but when I said I had left both signed copies there, they wouldn't check their drawer! They just kept asking for it. It was bizarre. My friend left her customer copy with them, wondering why they wouldn't look again. Not that bad, but after the grossness and the waiting we were kind of over it. Our nails look nice, but I wouldn't go here again for a pedicure. read more

I went to Top Nails a few weeks ago because they had decent reviews on Yelp for their Shellac and because they are located in the area that I happened to be in that day. Not only did they do a great job on my nails then but they lasted over three weeks and the only reason why I went back after three weeks was because I could not stand the sight of the grown out unpainted part at the base of my nails. Other than the grow out, there was not even one single chip in my nails. I know it is Shellac and that is what is known for but I have seen Shellac that has chipped or peeled or something along those lines. Beside the fact that they did such a great job on my nails, the girls working there are SOOO nice! Everyone greeted us with smiles and even though they were busy when we initially walked in, they still made sure we felt welcome and helped us very quickly for the number of people they had. So, experience #1 was good enough for me to go back for a second time. If I thought I had a good experience the first time, the second time they blew me out of the water! Not only were they just as nice as the first time but the same girl, Lan, did my nails this time as well. She did just as good as last time, if not better (if that is even possible) and she remembered small details about me from the time that I was in before. For example, I play a lot of sports and like my nails short so I don't break them and she remembered that. She also remembered things from our conversation previously and asked me specifically about how it had played out and what the outcome was. I am still amazed at how much she remembered! Talk about amazing customer service! If you are looking for a new place to get your nails done, this is it! I highly recommend Lan but from the sounds of it, everyone else there is just as good. You are not going to find a place with prices as reasonable as this ($25 for Shellac), the customer service that this place as and the quality job that you will get. I came here desperately trying to correct a bad powder manicure from *yesterday* prior to flying out here from Austin. I have a company meeting here this week and my nails were cracking and chipping as soon as we landed. I called 10 min ahead to make sure they could take me and at 5:45pm today (Monday) they sat me down straightaway. I noticed they also didn't turn away any customers that came in near closing time. Customer service is apparently important to these ladies. Ann, the manager, first assessed my awful mani. And then went to work immediately. She corrected the problem without having to redo all 10 fingers nails. . which was wonderful for the sake of time and $. You have to remember I just paid $40 for one yesterday and sat in a chair for over an hour. #vanity I also noticed that she triple checked the shape of the nails. The nail should look as natural as possible and her eye for aesthetic didn't disappoint. She made sure I felt confident when I left there. It was a huge relief. I live and work on the Eastside, so I've always gotten my nails done in my general area, and have never given up hope that I'd find a nail salon that I would love enough to make it my regular spot. I've come close a couple of times, but there's always been something that wasn't great enough to inspire loyalty on my part. I found myself wandering in Seattle with my main squeeze and his little guy last Saturday, and while they were otherwise engaged, I searched for a nail spot just for a polish change on my fingers and pedi on the toes. I have acrylic nails, and didn't think it was time for a fill. Pedicure was excellent, and the young woman who worked on my feet used a callous razor, which I truly needed, since i tend to walk around barefoot a lot. But when it was time for the manicure, I was lucky enough to be paired with Anh. She took one look at my nails and showed me that my nails needed a fill, since they were separating. She gave me a time approximation, since she knew i needed to meet up with the guys again soon She also asked me if i wanted a more natural look, and proceeded to actually rebuild the nail, and shaped it with the sander machine instead of literally clipping it with the nail clipper like my regular salon. This took longer, but was incredibly thorough, and the nails turned out GORGEOUS. Looks like total natural nails (except for the amazing purple I picked out). This one is worth driving over to Seattle for. Prices were certainly competitive, and parking was not a problem. Awesome! read more

I have tried to be a loyal customer to this place for almost two years while I have lived on Queen Anne. After an unpleasant service experience earlier this summer, I switched nail salons and then came back 3 weeks ago to try it again. My pedicure 3 weeks ago was great. However, the salon itself was filthy, with nail clippings and dust all over many surfaces of the salon and the ventilation system was either not working or not turned on so the room reeked of chemicals. Tonight was the last time that I will be a customer here. After an hour and 45 minutes for a simple shellac manicure with chrome, I left with uneven nails that snagged on my clothes, polish and chrome powder all over the tips of my fingers and underneath my nails, and an uneven and bubbly distribution of both polish and chrome powder. This is the worst and longest manicure I have ever received. I wish I had better things to say about this salon because I do like some of the women who work there, but they have lost me as a customer. Okay, I'm gonna be honest. I was originally going to the nail place just a few blocks away (pro nails I think). But I guess they are closed on Tuesdays so back I went to try Top Nails. When I walked in, there were 3 people being worked on but I got seated at a pedi station right away. Within 15 minutes, I was completely alone in the salon and had one lady (an older lady) working on my toes and one lady doing my nails. The lady doing my toes WENT TO TOWWWN! I seriously don't think my feet have ever looked this good. She worked at them for so long and made sure they were perfectly smooth. The woman doing my nails gave me the longest hand massage I've ever had but that was probably because I was the only client at the time. The woman doing my toes suggested a darker color (I had a very pale pink) and even swatched them for me to show me how much more better my toes would look with the darker color. I thought that was really nice of her to do. My nails and toes look freaking amazing thanks to these two. A mani and pedi cost me $35, but it looks like they have variable pricing. My only complaint, which is soooo minor is that I wish they had a better polish selection. There were a buttload of pinks and reds but not too many pastels or "different" colors. read more

I've been coming here for years, and even though I've tried other nail places, NO ONE does nails like Lan does. I'm impulsive, and have gone to other places for a quick fill, and have always, always regretted it, and end up going right back to Top Nails to have them fix my nails. This is the only place I've found that does natural-looking, perfectly shaped acrylics that don't end up looking like chunky, square, uneven Lego blocks on my fingertips.
