I was considering 4 stars, but I have to be fair. This was my standard poodles first time at this…read moresalon and it took longer than usual. With that being said, I'm sure it took some time for the groomer and "Benny Boy" to get to know each other. Benny is 11mo old and 50lbs. He still has a LOT of puppy in him and can be a wiggle worm so I have a lot of respect for groomers and trainers patience. The groomer listened to my specifications and followed them perfectly. I really appreciated a call from her when she wanted to be sure about what I requested for his head and muzzle. Reception was professional and patient with all my questions and concerns. I didn't feel rushed, which made me feel confident about leaving my dog in their care. I'm very pleased with his groom! Benny is so handsome! Thank you Kiki's Pet Spa! I'll be sure to book Benny with the same groomer who's there Monday and Wednesday. So sorry I've forgotten her name, but call and ask for the same groomer that Benny Dickerson had

We had a morning reservation and arrived on time to drop him off and explain a few more details like length, teddy bear face, etc. they said it would take about 2 hours, max 3 hours, and would call when ready. After 4 hours we didn't get any call from the groomer so we called and the lady said they are also tending to another dog but should be done in about 45 min and would call. After another hour, they haven't called so we had to call back again for status. Same story they were tending another dog and they only had 1 groomer in today. Our concern is now our dog has been there waiting for over 6 hours doing nothing, with no food and couldn't go out to pee or poo. In the end they said to come at 7pm which is when they close and he'll be ready. Even then we had to wait until 720 until they brought him out. Super disappointed with our first visit as potential new customers. $150 quoted but charged $200 for matting which was slim to none. Would not recommend and definitely not coming back, sorry!

HI-BK is a wonderful and great place if you're looking for a good, reputable and professional…read moredaycare. Our dog Millie, has been going to hi-bk for over two years and has loved it since day one. I'm an anxious dog owner, and tend to over worry but I never do when Millie is at daycare because I always see how happy and well attended she is. Her tag starts wagging the second we mention she's going to daycare, and scratches the door to get in if the door isn't opened fast enough. She loves the staff, always takes a moment to say goodbye before heading home after greeting us, especially if it's Richmond at the desk. They have strong guidelines about vaccines, dog's health, temperament tests, crate testing for boarding, and more which always made me feel very confortable and assured that they're putting these procedures in place to keep HI-BK safe for all staff and dogs. The space is well kept and clean. It's obvious that everyone who works at HI-BK cares for the dogs so much, they are all so friendly and welcoming, and most importantly, they are so kind and well mannered with the dogs. Millie loves people's attention and she gets lots of love and attention. I wouldn't trust anyone with the care of Millie but I would always trust hi-bk to be a safe and welcoming space for Millie. Millie has been to HI-BK for daycare, boarding and grooming and I would recommend all three to anyone who's looking for a place for their pup.

Update July 26: We ended up at BluePearl again, this time because Ruben's breathing rate was…read moreunusually high. He had recently stopped taking his heart medication after his cardiologist determined that his heart condition had resolved. Once again, the staff quickly took him back and stabilized him. Then began the wait. BluePearl appears to triage patients based on urgency, and they were not noticeably but apparently busy that day. As a result, Ruben spent much of the day in an oxygenated cage, from about 9:30 a.m. until 6:30 p.m. Thankfully, I did not have to stay there the entire time. In the end, the diagnosis was somewhat different from what we initially expected. Ruben does not have early congestive heart failure, as was suggested by the remote radiologist's preliminary interpretation. However, the team did take seriously the possibility of asthma, which had been raised by my cardiologist over the phone. I'm reducing my rating by half a star, bringing it to 4.5 stars. Overall, I believe Ruben received excellent care. The veterinarian listened carefully to my concerns about sedation and treated him thoughtfully. My main concern is staffing. It appeared that there was only one very busy veterinarian on duty, and she was unable to interpret the X-rays herself. As a result, several hours passed before the imaging could be completed, and then additional time was needed to obtain a reading from an off-site radiologist. I understand that Ruben was stable and that other patients may have required more urgent attention. Still, from my perspective, increased staffing might have allowed him to be evaluated sooner. Ruben is a good patient, but he does not enjoy veterinary visits, and spending nearly the entire day there was stressful for both of us. That said, BluePearl remains my first choice for emergency veterinary care. The staff are compassionate, and I continue to trust them when Ruben needs urgent treatment.

St. James, my 9-year-old chihuahua, died within three hours of a blood transfusion at BluePearl…read more When he was discharged to me, he was acting strangely and struggling to breathe. I showed the nurse right away and was told it could be an initial transfusion reaction. I was terrified and pleaded for help, but was told all tests had been completed and he was still sent home. The doctor never spoke to me. Over the next three hours, I watched him deteriorate -- breathing heavily, confused, and clearly in distress -- while I was completely powerless to help him in his time of need. No words can capture how painful and traumatic it was to witness. St. James lived such a beautiful, joyful life, and he deserved comfort and dignity at the end -- not this. We are left completely heartbroken and still without answers as to what caused his death.
