I'm SO disappointed at this place. My dog had an appointment at 10 am so we arrived exactly at 10…read moream. The place smell like pee but I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt. They told me it would take between 2 to 3 hours and I was also said that the groomer wasn't still there which was weird (why would they take appointments if the groomer is not there?). At 2pm I decided to call because I was concerned they haven't called me back nor even to tell me about the delayed. They told me that they had a big dog that had taken too much of their time but my dog was going to be next. Alright. I had to call again at 5pm because again, they didn't call me and I was even more concerned. They told me that now my dog was really going next and that they have been very busy. They also said we will give you a call no later than 45 minutes and he will be ready. My husband decided to call at 6:15 to see what is going on and to ask if at least they walk them to let them pee/poop, and they said they let them pee there (hence the smell in the place) and that he is already getting his haircut and should be ready in no more than an hour. I ended up picking him at 7:20pm. WHAT THE HECK IS GOING ON HERE? This is unacceptable and so unprofessional. Not to mention that I paid $200 for his hair cut, even thought they said they matting was not too bad in one of my calls. Not coming back!

I'm an anxious dog owner, and tend to over worry but I never do when Millie is at daycare because I always see how happy and well attended she is. She loves the staff, always takes a moment to say goodbye before heading home after greeting us, especially if it's Richmond at the desk. They have strong guidelines about vaccines, dog's health, temperament tests, crate testing for boarding, and more which always made me feel very confortable and assured that they're putting these procedures in place to keep HI-BK safe for all staff and dogs. The space is well kept and clean. It's obvious that everyone who works at HI-BK cares for the dogs so much, they are all so friendly and welcoming, and most importantly, they are so kind and well mannered with the dogs. Millie loves people's attention and she gets lots of love and attention. I wouldn't trust anyone with the care of Millie but I would always trust hi-bk to be a safe and welcoming space for Millie. I showed the nurse right away and was told it could be an initial transfusion reaction. I was terrified and pleaded for help, but was told all tests had been completed and he was still sent home. The doctor never spoke to me. Over the next three hours, I watched him deteriorate -- breathing heavily, confused, and clearly in distress -- while I was completely powerless to help him in his time of need. No words can capture how painful and traumatic it was to witness. St. James lived such a beautiful, joyful life, and he deserved comfort and dignity at the end -- not this. In the grooming room, he explained each step he was taking to ensure the process went safely and smoothly. He emphasized that he wanted to make sure our dog was comfortable but secure. He had a second groomer who was helping out when needed and learning at the same time. He also let us know that instead of clipping, they do doing nail grinding and as a plus, it's better when dogs have dark nails. We appreciated being able to view the experience and also get this insight. The process was indeed smooth and quick and our pup left happily. It ended up being an injury that no one saw. When I asked what happened they guessed it looked like a skin issue. Once I cleaned up the area and found an open wound I let them know. That lead to a very unfortunate exchange with the owner raising her voice at me doubling down on the skin issue and denying it was blood or an injury. (It healed with zero skin treatment). We are definitely not coming back.
