The tasting itself was fantastic. My favorite was the ginger rye; it was so unique and unlike anything I've had before. The pecan rye was also delicious, with a really smooth and slightly nutty flavor that stood out. Overall, it was a relaxed, informative, and really enjoyable experience. I'd definitely go back.

The menu offerings were not extensive yet the options to pair with the "long list" of bespoke craft cocktails were perfect. The assorted shapes, sizes and shades of olives were my first delight. I wound up with a charcuterie-esque combination of sour dough that included a creamy cheese smear along the inside of the dish, a prosciutto-like ham, and the most unexpectedly delicious bowl of warm, smoky carrots in a romesco. Not a drop got left behind thanks to the sour dough. Whatever music was playing in the background, added to the swanky vibe. This is the kind of gem that is meant to be savored by every one of your senses.

Cheeseburger is delicious, patty melt is excellent. French fries so thin and crispy even Ronnie McD is blushing. This most recent trip I dove in and had myself some lemon pepper wings -- excellent. Sat at the bar and the bartenders are very attentive. No issues with the service. I had the chicken sandwich, as it was highly recommended. And this is a huge sandwich for the price. Very succulent bird. Another positive is the fact they have ponies for $2 (at least they were when we went months ago). THey also do a decent espresso martini. They had a welcome cocktail, a tasting bar, snacks, and a great raffle. Lots of benefits are offered. Staff is always wonderful. The Oak Room is a beautiful event space. Both really packed a punch, luckily we were walking to our next destination. In the store they seemed to have a flash-sale going on for one of the bourbons. It was normally around $75 or something and I got it for $45. I am sure that's not normal but it really made the selection even better, because the wall of whiskey/bourbon is also really tough to choose what you want!

Unfortunately, the food was a major disappointment. We ordered the biscuits and gravy with fried chicken, shrimp and grits, and two iced coffees. The coffee was good but the food was, honestly, borderline inedible and not at all what we expected. What was even more disappointing was the response when our server asked how everything was. We were honest and told her we didn't like the food. Her only response was, "Awww," before walking away. There was no offer to make it right, no follow-up, and no manager checked on us. When our table was cleared, our plates were still nearly full. For a bill of around $100 for brunch for two, I expected much better food and customer service. The beautiful setting wasn't enough to make up for the disappointing meal and lack of concern when we shared our experience.
