Great service and the food was amazing. We had cornbread, slaw and onions for free. It was really good. I had broiled catfish and shrimp. The place was clean and comfortable.

Top marks for this friendly, local seafood restaurant for kindly staying open to accommodate us after flight delays and a long drive. Our server, Chavez, was super welcoming and happy to answer questions about the menu even though the kitchen was about to close. We were definitely the last diners to leave so we were very grateful they'd been happy to serve us. The food was really good - the combos come with hush puppies which we didn't notice on the menu. A great local Southern seafood spot!

This place is an old staple for us my husband bought me here when we were dating in the late 90s & we've gone back a time or two & have always enjoyed it we went back Saturday after a number of years to celebrate my dad's 70th birthday he chose this spot for whatever reasons but I was excited to take a stroll down memory lane the restaurant was exactly the same family oriented & busy we made reservations and unfortunately all of our families weren't on time & everyone has to be present to be seated however we all came from Birmingham & a few came from Atlanta and it was hard getting accommodations for our late guest but they did try & get everyone seated together but instead of putting us at two tables (one had been available) our 90 yr old grandma was put in a crowded booth we were able to make room at the table but the booths should've never been a option as far as the food it was subpar mozzarella sticks came out luke warm & the food was not as good as it was in the past the Cole slaw & corn bread appetizers were the best thing we ate everyone had mix reviews on their food I ordered the whole catfish which was ok & crawfish tails overall they seem to be more of a elevated captain dees than that hot fresh always delicious fish camp I remember them being ! It wasn't worth the drive but time spent with family was priceless

Weeks in advance, reservations were made for six persons at 4:30 p.m. in the main dining room…read more When I arrived, I was shown to a table in a small room adjacent to the service area; nevertheless, the table was too close to a naked wall for my visitor to gaze at throughout supper. "Well, if you want to wait, I can seat a table in the main dining hall at a much smaller table," the hostess said after asking. There goes the first item. I had boasted to my guest about how the restaurant was decorated. Then came the seating. No server, no server. Finally, STOPPED two of the many servers rushing past just to ask for water. The first server told us it was not her area. The second server rushed through, saying, "Yes, I will get you drinks." We asked if wine or cocktails were available; the response was that she would need to get an "adult to help." No adult ever came to help. No information/greeting of any type to welcome or on how to proceed with getting the food. Now for the $40 food. The appetizer of boiled shrimp tasted mushy, as it had just been poured from a container of water. Buffet: Did not know it would be an almost attempt at a country-type food buffet. Failed at that attempt, and not what would be expected from a fine dining restaurant. Black-eyed peas tasted like they had just been poured from a can, with no flavor. Dressing and mashed potatoes were good, and BBQ ribs were good. The ham had a large bone and gristle, the turkey was thick but dry, and the grease was starchy and had no flavor. The dessert was good, but we did not believe it was made at the restaurant; we ate some from Costco, and it tasted and looked the same. Very rushed and chaotic atmosphere. Staff running past 5-foot aisle along the back of our table and not once looking our way, without us waving them down to help. Used plates on the table were picked up much faster at other buffet restaurants. Maybe just a bad day for their business, but the customers paid for the fiasco. Not sure we will return; it was very disappointing and embarrassing for me to have guided my guest to the restaurant. Made me look and feel embarrassed. Do not believe this is the fine dining restaurant the Mashburns had intended. Classic on Noble Street in Anniston, Alabama, is closing permanently at the end of 2025 after 30 years in business. Owners Cathy and David Mashburn announced the decision on October 30, 2025

The restaurant it self is unassuming and very casual. You will feel right at home here in shorts and flip flops. The food is the real gym. We had the grouper, and it tasted like it came off the boat that morning. Great flavor, tender and flaky, just like it should be. The season was on point, flavorful but not overpowering. I added the fried ahumó and glad I did. They were perfect. My wife added the crab cake, and that was excellent as well. Plenty of crab meat and not too much stuffing. If you are looking for fresh, authentic gulf seafood, this is the place to go. I can't wait for my mom to come to town from Nashville this will be a must eat for her.

Inside is one open area with basic wooden tables and chairs. We were seated right away. Waitress said it was exceptionally slow evening. Service was excellent as she was attentive ensuring we were ok. Their menu had a nice variety for everyone more than what's posted on Yelp. Sorry, I didn't take an updated picture of it. Gulf Shrimp looked and tasted like regular shrimps from the grocery store. Nothing spectacular. Baked potato was good. Surprised they gave artificial whipped butter tho instead of real butter. Hush puppies were ok. One commented Mac n cheese wasn't that great but everything else was. Another commented the pasta was very flavorful but a bit watery and noodles overcooked. We didn't have any adult beverages so can't comment on it. Younger one had an ice cream sundae and said it was very good. Price was reasonable as well. We'll consider going back when in the area again. Recommend trying especially the catfish.

We pulled into Papa Dubi's around 1:45, not realizing the kitchen closes at 2:00. We apologized and said we'd come back another time because we didn't want to be "those people", but the staff insisted it was no problem at all. That alone made a great first impression. We ordered quickly and went with the Cajun Sampler--Red Beans and Rice, Gumbo, Chicken & Sausage Jambalaya, and Crawfish Sauce over Rice. We also added hushpuppies and boudin. Every single thing was spot‑on delicious. Each sampler dish had the perfect balance of rice to main ingredients, and the flavors were rich, authentic, and comforting. The boudin was the real deal, and the hushpuppies were just as good. Brandon was our server, and he couldn't have been more friendly or accommodating, especially considering how close it was to closing time. For being this far from Louisiana, Papa Dubi's is absolutely doing it right. We'll definitely be back.

Everyone was super friendly, shout out to our server Brandon. Friendly and willing to engage in my favorite activity (small talk!) lol. To the food. I have an extensive list of food allergies and intolerances. So I will always review a place where I can find a good meal and not get sick or worse. I had the burger po'boy and it was great! Perfect ratio of burger to bread. The fries were pretty standard Sysco fair but I like their seasoned fries so all good. Hubs had the catfish lunch meal and he enjoyed it. Ordered the boy the crab cake meal and he loved it. Also got the 4 sides option as part of our to-go order - gumbo, red beans & rice, jambalaya, and etouffee. I hate soupy rice & beans, so I was happy to see that these were done right. They also tasted great. I wasn't able to try the other items (pesky seafood allergy) but they also looked good and smelled delicious. Definitely see us making a day trip in the future to eat here again.
