We had our 1968 Mustang restored here and all the work was fabulous! I'm a bit OCD so I would put together task lists that would group together related tasks to be completed on our car. Top Secret excelled on every task and our car came out beautifully! These guys are craftsmen who take their work seriously like they're restoring a Rembrandt or Picasso. Everyone was so nice and they were always on top communicating with me as the work was completed. Our car is now a brand new 1968 like it's fresh off the showroom floor. I've recommended Top Secret to several friends who want quality work done. They give free tours and you will be amazed at some of the very rare cars they are working on. read more

I dropped by Secret Customs, to get an estimate on the restoration of my '65 ElCamino. Having done (or started) a bit of the restoration myself, the gentleman giving me the quote was very honest and upfront, letting me know the accuracy of estimate could be swayed- based on the quality of my previous repairs and other findings. The honesty was much appreciated and acceptable to me. The estimate was not the lowest I've received but after touring the shop that was very organized and clean, talking to the staff who were very informative and knowledgeable, and seeing their work on other projects, it is obvious to me- it is the best estimate I've received! I was very impressed with these folks and will be back!!! read more

I called looking for some assistance on getting a wiring problem tracked down after I converted my 55 F100 to 12 volt. It took them a while to troubleshoot the problem, however as agreed in their contract I was billed weekly for the work accomplished during that week, and they stayed on task and within budget. I have also called back to ask about other nuances on my older truck. Straight up gave me their machine shop contact rather than act as middle man, and add upcharges. I will continue to use these guys for the work I am continuing to do. read more

I took my car the Top Secret Customs for some cut and buff on my restored cars paint. When I picked up the car no attempt had been made to clean up the residue left behind. It was in all the cracks and crevices and around trim, and on the lights. It was clear no masking had been done to protect parts that were not being worked. I had to disassemble parts to clean the gunk out. Additionally, the paint on the edge of the trim on the doors had been buffed so there are now metal showing where it should be black. On top of that there was a section where the clear coat had been sanded through and it was touched up rather poorly with a color that did not match. This was hidden from me as I did not find it until I was able to clean the car and inspect it. There was also a spot on the door handle that was over buffed due to poor care and preparation. I contacted them about my concerns and all I got back was an offer to re buff it if I got the piece repainted. I offered them the opportunity to rectify the issue by either refunding the labor it would cost me fix it and clean up the mess they made or I could supply the proper paint so they could paint it. They did not respond. I am very dissatisfied with this companies work ethics and attention to detail. I will not recommend Top Secret Customs to anyone. read more

I contacted this company regarding a full restoration. Initial estimate was $30,000 (but could go a little higher). I sent pictures and videos of the car along with all the parts I have. I spent hours being very detailed so there were no surprises. Six months of waiting in line to get the restoration started. Now I'm being told the bodywork and paint alone will run $70,000 and the entire restoration will run $125,000-$175,000. I would not trust anything about this business. They are dishonest and shady. read more

These guys do really good work and I am a firm believer in you get what you pay for, so you just gotta make sure you line out exactly what you want and what you can afford. I had my 68 camaro painted here and it turned out virtually perfect as far as I am concerned. It wasn't cheap but I got what I wanted. read more

I stopped in about 6 months ago to inquire about a complete restoration and was very impressed with the tour of their shop. I was told the owner would call to schedule a date/time to work out an estimate. However, I have yet to hear anything from them. Also, the person that gave me the tour informed me that the owner didn't really know what he was doing or what exactly to look at for during an inspection so the estimate might not be very accurate. I know I could have called back and followed up but after the comment about the owner and the estimate I decided that not hearing back from anyone may have been for the best. To anyone at Top Secret Customs and Restorations that may read this please take an honest look at your shop and determine why an employee or employees may feel this way about the owner and his estimates? The reason for one star is because I took the time to drive an hour and half to your shop, took a quick tour and never heard anything back. read more

Since day one it's been a disaster. First off when we got there they had a tariff charge of 200.00 that got added on the bill right off the bat. Then due to trump with the tariffs he says, comes a 30-45 day wait for shipping, it's shipped from China they're a local business I figure ok I'm in no hurry I can wait. So on we proceed everything is down to signing and we wait in the lobby. While waiting in the lobby to sign the order sheets for purchase, we find out the order had already been billed to my debit card except now there was a frame rotisserie added on for another 1000.00 and no tariff charge. We tell the lady that we didnt order a rotisserie and dont want one. So we get the rotisserie taken off the bill after, the lady looking at us and giving us this look of inconvenience, disapproval and dismay that she had to do this. I figure ok mistakes happen but I'm getting a lift. So we get home, my wife checks the bank account and low and behold not only did they not refund us the 1000.00 they actually charged us for another rotisserie and the tariff charge. My 2100 lift has now cost me upwards of 4500.00. My wife goes off the deep end shes livid, so she decides she is going to call them and figure out what the hell is going on. The lady on the other end proceeds to argue with my wife and lie to here saying no they didnt double charge us and since they forgot to add the tariff charge they just decided to go ahead and rebill our card for that as well with out talking to us or notifying us of any thing. By the end of the day my bank account is down 4500.00 + and I'm 30-45 days wait for a lift. Monday rolls around my wife finally gets everything straightened out with top secret customs and we finally get 2000.00 credited back to our account. 47 days go by, no call no email no nothing not a word from top secret customs. I decide well I'm out and about I will swing in and see where my lift is at it's got to be ready to be delivered....... WRONG. I go in to the office of top secret customs and talk to the guy in charge to figure out what's going on. He then proceeded to tell me that not only am I not getting my lift soon, it's still in China and hasn't even shipped yet, the only answer I get from him is this irritable dont inconvenience me response of...... Yep it's late. That's it nothing else just an annoyed look and a all I can say is it's late. So I ask him what happened and how did it now become 65-70 day wait for my lift. For that i get told well it's on crate 14 but i have these other 9k lifts that will be in, in 2 weeks so i could switch you to that one. I said no thanks i will wait out for the one i ordered. 30 days later no calls, no emails, no contact what so ever. I decide to call top secret customs to find out what the hell is going on. I get the head guy at top secret customs on the phone only to find out that nope no lift for you again with the disgusted and not giving two shits attitude I get again yup it's late. At this point I'm pissed its damn near 3 months late did it fall of the fucking boat on it's way here ? After a few minutes again he says well I can get you this other 9k lift next week for sure they are coming in and I will have one out to you mid week. I ask him so I will get my lift mid week next week for sure ? Yes I will have them in and get it out to you next week. So I agree to take the cheaper lift which will be at my house next week. At this point I'm fed up I'm sick and tired of dealing with these clowns but I've waited this long might as well finish it out and get my damn lift. So here we are Friday of the following week fri July 19 @6:20 PM and guess what.....No fucking lift, no phone call, no emails, nothing not one thing from the clowns at top secret customs. At this point I would never set foot in that building again unless I'm going to get my refund or a lift. I can only assume hes using my money and buying lifts but when one comes in if someone wants to not wait for the 20% discount he sells them what he has in stock and tough shit for that guy. Sad that a local business is this shady I wish I had cancelled the order after the first 3 screw ups they did. And just to add insult to injury he shorted me 30 dollars on the exchange price for switching lifts. 82 dollar difference got a check for 52 and some change. read more

We needed some upholstery work done for a couple large deck pads and a few smaller ones. The local boat upholstery companies were too busy to fulfill our needs in a timely manner. Luckily I passed Top Secret and saw their sign that included upholstery among their services. They were able to complete our job in three days, did beautiful work, and kept us in the loop every step of the way. Their customer service specialist, Greg Clark, is outstanding in his customer care role. We highly recommend them! read more

The work I had done by them was of very poor quality, I was billed without being told what for, no attempt at all was made to stay within budget, even though they made a big deal about that up front and agreed to contact me before going over. They missed parts of the welds that were done on the roll cage, many of the screws installed on the header cap were completely stripped and could be turned by hand, the convertible top has many huge wrinkles, is not lined up on the front header and is not adjusted correctly at all, and in general looks terrible. They didn't even attempt to put on the trim strip that hides the slits in the top, nor did they adjust the mechanism at all, and the top is about 1" short of closing correctly at the front. There are also scratches in the clear coat where they buffed it out, and lots of residue left in all the crevices from the wet sanding. The velcro strip they applied to the rear well liner was glued in and just all fell off within days of it being done. Why it was not sewn in like proper upholstery is beyond me. I ended up being charged more than twice what we agreed on up front. And even though they asked what my budget was, and agreed to talk to me before they went over it, I received no such communication. Charges for large amounts would just show up on my credit card. The worst part was that even though it cost twice what they estimated, I would have been okay with that if the work had actually been done well. It was not, and I am having to have it redone by another shop that specializes in convertible tops. And had to hire a welder to finish the welding that was missed. In a nutshell: 1. Original estimates from owner (not including parts) - $400 to finish the wet sanding and $1100 to install a convertible top. This was right in line with the other shops I had talked to, such as Hoglunds, who wanted $1500 to install the top. 2. Final bill: Way, Way more..... 3. Work quality: Some welding on the roll cage was good work. The rest looked like it was done at the voc-tech by high school students who had never worked on an old car. And in case anyone doubts I know what I am talking about, I do 90% of all the work on my own cars and have done so for 35 years. I have been friends with Art Rasmussen and other top line fabricators and builders so I know good work when I see it.
