I took my car to Dalton's in Snohomish for several years before they closed that location a year ago, or so. I was always very pleased with their professionalism, pricing, and work. I took my Jeep into the Snohomish dealer a little over a year ago when they were still open and they had replaced the head gasket and it was a very expensive and extensive job, but turned out great. A couple months ago I called up and spoke with the manager Chad in their Marysville location, and discussed with him how I was a regular customer in Snohomish for years, and that I had some major work done a year earlier and some concerns had come up recently relating to coolant and a sensor potentially relating to the head gasket I was told by another mechanic. Chad was very cool and helpful, and offered to take my Jeep in up there and do all he could to get my Jeep issues solved. Upon picking it up after he informed me it had been repaired, the Jeep issues were all solved, and he even fixed another a-arm clanking issue at no-charge, and never charged me at all for the sensor issue. It has now been almost 2 months now since they fixed it and not 1 engine light has come on, and my Jeep has run perfect ever since! The service at this place and customer service is second to none, and worth every penny! I would send my grandma in their without a concern! Good people. read more

This is a fantastic shop. My wifes car radiator blew and was stuck on the side of the road. I called and talked with Dana the manager who recommended a great tow service and got my car in and fixed in less than 24 hours. They did excellent job. I found this shop on the Jasper Engines website (http://www.jasperengines.com) because they are a recommended installer for Jasper. I'm SO glad I took my car to them. DeWayne is a true professional and he does his work with integrity. While other shops I talked to about doing an engine replacement wanted to nickel and dime me to death with this and that and gave me crazy high estimates, DeWayne gave it to me straight. His prices included all the typical items replaced during a motor replacement and the price was considerably less than other shops. Not only that, he gave me a reasonable estimate on how long it would take. His workmanship is first rate as well. He cut no corners, but also did not replace anything that did not need to be replaced. He even cleaned and painted portions of the engine compartment to make things look nice and went the extra mile for me. He not only treated my car like his own, he treated it like MY car. I appreciate that. If you want to take your car to a pro that you can absolutely trust and not get ripped off in the process, you really should take your car here. I trust Daltons with both of my cars. They are honest, affordable, and don't try to take advantage of me by selling me something I don't need. As a woman, that can happen at times. I had all new brakes/calipers installed on my 2004 Tahoe, and they also let me know what will need to be fixed in the future, but overall in good health. I also brought in my Pathfinder for Oil changes. Great fast service, and not overpriced like the dealerships. I really like these guys and refer them to my friends and family. I have been a customer since at least 2010 at the old location on Highway 9 and 180th. I haven't gone anyplace else for service because this shop has taken such good care of my vehicles. They have been super patient with explaining things to me, answering questions and making sure my cars are road worthy. I travel quite a bit for business and depend on Dalton's to be proactive, check everything, and do preventive maintenance as needed. Prices are fair, no surprises, and a great crew. These. Guys. Rock. The building isn't much to look at: it's at the intersection of 180th and SR9 next to a mexican grocery store/taco truck (which is also excellent, by the way). You might just drive past and go "man, that looks like a dump that time has forgotten". But you'd be wrong. The folks at Dalton's are awesome. I took my '95 Ford Ranger here once based on a recommendation by my neighbour. The truck had an odd squeal coming from a wheel when driving at high-ish speeds. They quickly diagnosed it as wheel bearings that needed repacking, then fixed them for me at a great price. I was back today with my '01 BMW, which needed the air conditioning system evacuated and recharged. They charged me $99 for it. $99! I called five other places around town, including BMW specialty places, and the lowest price I found was $245. Holy doodle! And to make it even better I got to hang around and chat with everyone about cars and such. Oh, and they had a box of plums near the cash, fresh picked from the trees out back, that you could snack on. Great conversation. Great prices. And plums. What more do you want in an auto repair place??? (P.S. Apparently they also have the cheapest propane prices around. I don't use propane, but when I was there the price was $1.60ish a whatever. At least four different people stopped by to get propane while my A/C was being serviced. Need propane? I guess this is the place!) read more

I left after an upsale diagnostic test that I OK'd but didn't really want, especially not knowing I would be charged $236. I will return a loyal customer to Tall Guy Small Guy. read more

I am the kind of guy that would much rather do repairs which are within my abilities, myself. Rather than pay someone. Eventually, I will run into repairs which are too difficult for me. Which is when I turn to the professionals and there is no one I trust more with my car than the guys at Daltons. I have been going to these guys for years. When something on my car breaks, they fix the broken part. No fake stories about how, while trying to fix the problem they discovered that I need a new blah blah blah, or my car will burst into flames. When a legit problem is actually found, they take the time to explain the situation, how critical is it, realistically. Then show you the broken part/issue on the car. Finding a good, honest mechanic is difficult. So these guys are truly a gem. The labor is pricy, in my opinion. But I feel the extra cost is worth it! read more

I'm sure I'm like most people and have a hard time trusting any auto place but I've been bringing my old truck here for years for various fixes.. Today they quoted me for a pretty expensive fix that I reluctantly approved but figured I needed to fix my rig. they called me back several hours later and determined the problem wasn't as bad as they thought and the total was less than half of original quote. My guess is there are many auto shops that would have gone ahead with the more expensive repair anyway. I'll keep going back knowing that they didn't gouge me when they could have. read more

Dropped our car off this morning after noticing our crankshaft pulley was broken. They were able to fit us in and have us back on the road by the afternoon. I took my car into the dealership for an oil change previously, and they told me I needed a whole new brake job. I needed new rotors and needed to resurface the rotors in the front, new calipers, and new pads as well. I also got an estimate from Les Schwab with nearly the same results. Today however, I took it in to Dalton's Midway and they took the car for the day did the brake job and found out I only needed minimal work. I was out the door for less than 50% of what the dealership told me I would have to spend. These guys were honest and fast. They will definitely be getting my repeat business. read more

Dalton's Midway has some of the best service, even better than the dealership. Had a check suspension light come on my Lincoln Navigator, decided I should take it to the Ford dealership to have it worked on. After receiving a 2500$ estimate, to replace air ride suspension with conversation kit or replace my air compressor and pump 1500$, I decided to have a 2nd opinion. Took the car to Dalton's Midway way and with a complete thorough inspection, it was discovered an o-ring split inside the compressor. O-ring replaced and compressor working fine, car back to riding for pennies on the dollar. I will always recommend Dalton's Midway to anyone and everyone. Take your car to Dalton's and know they are going to give you a detailed thorough work and NOT over charge/rip you off. Everyone is very knowledgeable and explain everything that is going on. My wife loves dropping the car and knowing she is not getting ripped off. read more

I recently took my 2012 Chevy Cruze to Dalton's for an oil change. Dana at the front desk was awesome! Got me an appointment within a day, and when I arrived to my appointment time, he was able to get my car in and out quickly and get me on my way! Days later the car started leaking what we thought was transmission fluid. My husband and I went up on a Saturday to talk to them about getting it in, Khan was awesome and got us an appointment for the Monday. Well, after getting home and realizing the leak was more worrisome then we thought, we called Khan and he said to bring it up right away and he could take a look at it! On a Saturday at Noon we thought that was unheard of! Khan called hours later and said it was a coolent leak and he could get the parts in by Monday. Dana called on Monday with a rundown of what was going on and was insanely helpful in helping us understand where the leak was coming from, and that he was able to save us some money here and there! We recently purchased a 1989 Toyota 4runner and Dana was able to get it an appointment to have the entire car looked over. Dana called a couple hours later with a list of items we should look into fixing! He has never once sold us on something we didn't need ( like a lot of other places), he is honest and up front with what the cars need to be safe and reliable vs what we can wait to fix when money allows! I have started using Daltons for all my cars and don't plan to use anyone else! read more

When I posted on FB that I needed to find a reliable, trustworthy, affordable mechanic in my area, because I needed to pass my emissons test I was referred to Dalton's. They fixed my problem at that time. Then this week when I had an urgent situation (cracked water pump) and my old mechanic couldn't get me in for 3 weeks I called Dalton's and they got me in the next day and had it fixed. I've been going to dalton's midway for over 20 years... was bummed when they tore down the old building at 180th/SR9... but relieved to find out they moved down to 164th & SR9, across the street from the old Berry Bowl... they sit on the NW corner at that light. So much easier to get in and out of their new shop. Very nice shop, clean, organized... I liked the old building though... it was pretty cool... but I see the same mix of cars, old and new in the new place. I've known some of these mechanics for years and have known the new owner for years, he's a real gear head... has a really old Mercedes Diesel and he's building his own custom Diesel Mercedes sports car, so he understands weird problems... building something like that requires a lot of research, and hands on knowledge, so his mechanics have to know what they're doing, or he'll spot it. These folks were recommended to me over 20 years ago, and have never disappointed me, old or new owner. They are priced fairly, and won't do unnecessary work. They're real people who know how to troubleshoot and repair, they're not parts swappers and you can actually talk to the guy working on your car. If your car is out of warranty and you're bringing it to a dealer, why? Really... do some comparative shopping and let these guys have a shot at your business. I apprenticed as a mechanic in a shop like this back in the '70s, it just feels good to work with these guys. I can send friends or family members here without fear. Clean, safe shop with really nice people. They can do custom exhaust work, which means if your muffler blew out, they can replace the muffler if that's all you need, and not the entire system. If one part breaks, they can fix or replace it and charge you for things you don't need. They sell and install AMSOIL lubricants, work on carburetors, brakes, even differentials! They'll swap an engine for you and sell you a good reman unit, and do it quickly. If you have some out of the ordinary mechanical work that you need help with, these guys will work with you. If you're doing something out of the ordinary and need professional help, this should be on your short list for a solution. They are flexible and not subject to some inane corporate policy. If you have a problem, talk to them, they'll work it out. Local shop, local wrenches... support businesses like this, we need folks that add value and solve problems like this. read more

Not satisfied with their service. I was a prospective buyer on a used car and called to inquire about having a pre-inspection done with their company. I left my credit card information for them to bill me when the inspection was complete and to call me to let me know the condition of the car and to send me the report so I could make a decision about purchasing the car. I waited a week and did not hear from them and assumed the car seller never dropped off the car. I got my credit card statement and they charged me for the pre-inspection on the day I inquired about it. Upon calling them to let them know they need to refund me for work that was not done, I first got the runaround and getting a couple different answers from different people, I find out that the car buyer DID bring in the car 4 days after my credit card was billed and they GAVE HIM the pre-inspection report that I PAID FOR. Needless to say, I never received the report and never heard from the car seller. I am shocked that they charged me for work that they did not do yet, and that they gave the seller MY REPORT. Shady business practices or incompetence? Either way, they will not get my business again. read more
