They seated us before 11am. The $3 champagne was a hit! The server was a nice young lady that remembered all I asked for and checked on us a few times during our visit. Oh! The food was fantastic! Portions were large. Also, the $4 Bloody Mary's were on point! The place seems like it's been there for over 20 years and a little wore. However, they still keep the quality of service an important factor. It was a nice experience.

Tope La was an okay restaurant. The food wasn't horrible but the actual restaurant was not the best. The inside of the restaurant had a strange smell and the service took very long. The bathrooms smelled like sewage and the mirror on the wall by our booth was dirty. I got the stuffed redfish and it was okay. I liked the spinach dip on top but wouldn't say it was worth the 30 dollars.

We took my wife's best friend out for her birthday dinner and set the reservation for 730 pm. We got there and got seated. Our waitress finally made it.to greet us around 10-15 after we were seated. Took our drink orders and appetizer orders. We ordered the blackened grilled applicator and it was melt-in-your-mouth tender. Great flavor. The crab and eggplant stack was also a hit two fried eggplant stacked on sauteed spinach topped with a crab sauce. For dinner we had the 6 oz bacon-wrapped filet minor, boiled redfish topped with a lump crab sauce and pecan rice, and the top la country fried steak topped with an andouille sauce on mashed potatoes. All were a hit and cooked to perfection. For dessert, it was the favorite of bread pudding with a side of bananas and topped with a bit of infused sauce and the chocolate mousse cake with a raspberry drizzle. Again, these were awesome. My only issue was that our server seemed to disappear a lot and was hard to find, these were the four stars. Service wasn't bad but could have been better for the price we were paying. All in all, this was a great experience, and my wife's best friend had a great bday dinner.

My friends and I gave Tope La a try last week as a post Christmas treat. And what a treat it was! We went midday so we're able to order from the lunch menu. We started with red bean queso as an appetizer. It was something new for us. So delicious. It was made with puréed red bens, smoked sausage and cheese. This came served with a plate of fresh tortilla chips. I ordered the sugar cane salmon which was grilled salmon drizzled with cane syrup. It was tasty. The atmosphere of the restaurant was pleasant and inviting. All staff members were quite friendly. I will definitely be back.

In Hammond for a downtown festival/street fair featuring - among other things - the amazing Marc Broussard. I'd heard about the place through the 'vine and am so glad to have had the opportunity to try their menu. Loved the vibe walking in and landed at the bar - where else, right? Bartender made a nice cocktail and ordered the "Crabmeat Stuffed Redfish" - with an artichoke, sun dried tomato, spinach and Pepper Jack cream sauce. This was very nicely done and I did everything except lick my plate before it was all over. Great meal and would highly recommend this spot for any Yelpers out there!

Food was all around amazing from appetizer to dessert I enjoyed everything I put in my mouth! Our service was 10/10 wish I could remember the young lady's name that waited on us she was awesome. The atmosphere and ambiance was also very good had a great time and very much enjoyed all aspects of our meal!

One of the best meals I've ever had. Tournedos Lafourche. If you are in Hammond you should definitely check out this place.

    Is this place dog friendly?

The inside is not, but I'm sure it wouldn't be a problem if you sat outside. I would call and double check though.

If you're going to eat here the red bean queso is a must, it's by far my favorite thing I've had here and I will most likely get it every time I come here.

There is a full bar. I was able to get the most delicious bloody mary while my husband had a crown and 7. There is a cool selection of liquor to browse. We bought a couple bottles that we had never seen before. The guy working seemed pretty knowledgable about the bottled liquor and was quick to answer any questions they had. He gave us prompt and courteous service. They also had a cooler with wines and a separate cooler that actually had some steaks and cheese. My husband and I joked about it being a one stop shop for Valentine's day! It did lose one star because it was a bit dusty in there. It could use a good cleaning.

Gorgeous wood bar, pictures and mementos behind the bar the regulars have given to them over their 75 years of operation, along with the nicest bartenders you'll ever meet. Decent beer selection, great wine and liquor selection, and a retail section up front with steaks and other items for gifts. My advice to you is to hit this place up on a Saturday afternoon, order your cocktail of choice then just observe the regulars sitting at the bar around you. The character of each of these people is often imitated but never quite duplicated and it makes this place unique and somewhere I'm proud to call home.

We started with the Coastal Crab Dip, which was just okay. I also tried the Lighthouse fish with a side of potatoes. The fish itself didn't have much flavor, but the sauce on top helped and had a decent taste. The tacos were probably the best dish we ordered. Overall, I'd come back and try something different next time.

I have been wanting to try this place out, so while visiting Louisiana we came to lunch here…read more The interior of this place is very beautiful and different from the other restaurants in the area. I love the open windows in the front of the restaurant, makes for a different feel when the weather's nice. The service here was a 3/5, the waitress was very sweet but she wasn't very knowledgeable with the menu and wasn't sure on questions that were asked. Also we had to call her over a bit rather than her coming to the table. Price wise some items were over priced but others were reasonable. For the selection and prices of drinks I was surprised they didn't offer a bottled water of some sort, like Aqua Pana. The normal water served did taste like that Louisiana faucet water. The menu had a great selection, presentation was decent, the whole aesthetic was very beautiful. Taste was overall tasty. The bread they serve with the balsamic/oil was amazing, hummus was great, the crab stuffed mushrooms were so good, probably my favorite thing we had there. The Peruvian ceviche was a tad disappointing, it wasn't true leche de tigre, it was missing the corn and correct juice; it just tasted like normal ceviche with sweet potatoes added. The ones we've had before the leche de Tigre was more milky in color and the flavor was so different with the aji limo peppers and delicious accompanied with sweet potatoes, Peruvian corn roasted and soft with onions. My husband got the pork chop, he said it was a 4/5, I got the roasted chicken with one side which was cooked great, the chicken was tender and juicy but it didn't have a lot of flavor like I was expecting. I had it flavored with the aji panca. I did not care for the aioli, it just tasted like mayo. The potatoes were great, the seafood paella was decent, and our friends said the chicken Parmesan was tasty. Overall the meal was good. This place has lots of potential, I feel a few things should be more elevated if they're wanting to stay at some of the price points. Not sure if I'll ever go out of my way to come back, but I'm glad we got to try it. Nice little addition to downtown.
