What a horrible experience at the Birmingham location. Tons of bays closed while the wait exceeded an hour. Tried to make a night and get dinner but it took forever. They took us off their waitlist twice without texting and we had to check back in 3 times, finally a manager had to get involved and would not even open an unused bay, we still had to wait another 15 minutes after 2 hours. I've been to quite a few and worst service by far at this location. Step up your game, it seems like they could be providing a much better experience if someone would care enough. Hi Fatima, 30 min later and I'm still waiting on a bay and looking at 4 bays that just left. You might want to check in on this location. Really poor service. read more

The reservation "system" has some serious flaws. 1. There is no guarantee that a bay, for which you have paid $25-50 for nothing more than the "reservation," is actually available. 2. I am looking at several open bays, but no one is cleaning them or prepping them for the next customers to use. 3. There is no way to know where you are on the waiting list, despite having paid $25-50 for the reservation. Every restaurant from Denny's on up has a better and more reliable system. 4. We ran into friends who had a 5:00 reservation, and they didn't get to play until 6:00. Not impressed. read more

Four stars for Top Golf being a REALLY cool spot for old and young alike. But I really want to give it 3.5 stars for service. I know they just opened, but there was some confusion and hesitation and a lot of "say what?" moments. They are trying though. As for the venue, there's the ground floor level with bays and outdoor seating associated with whatever bay you are assigned. Same for the 3rd level. The second floor/main level is also where the bar is located. On the third floor you'll also find small conference rooms for meetings and/or small parties. Also, bring your patience when you arrive to park. The parking lot isn't well-designed and there's really only one way in or out to park. And finding empty spaces can be a challenge. There is valet parking though for $5. So I sat at the bar to wait on friends. First thing to note, tables around the bar are FIRST COME FIRST SERVED so, as soon as you see folks making a move to leave, jump up and be ready to slide in their chairs! Lol! We chose to go Saturday night of New Year's weekend, so it was PACKED. Walking in was a bit overwhelming because you're not sure which way to go first. I bypassed the check-in table, which is where much of the confusion seemed to be. Lots of people everywhere. I mean, EVERYWHERE! Please note that if they are out of a certain alcohol, the substitute may be an up-charge if you don't want the house brand. A friend ordered one of the specialty drinks that included Ketel One Vodka, except they were out of it. Grey Goose was $6-8 extra if you didn't want the house Tito's. True story. Same goes for Absolut. Just sharing what I learned. If you sit at a table, they have servers AND runners. Servers put the orders in using a tablet. Runners are supposed to bring the food out. Well, sadly a few of the runners got a lot of the tables confused and they were constantly putting food on the wrong tables. They even have to place orders for water so it took a while for those orders to get relayed to the runners. And honestly, our server could have just poured us some water from a pitcher right? As for food, I had the wings, which are breaded. Personally, I prefer naked wings so these were decent, though probably a bit too much breading. I also had a house salad, which was a small, basic salad and was fine. Lettuce and croutons were fresh. Their food prices seem to be all over the place, but range from $6 to $15+. Same thing with drink prices. But they have a really diverse and large menu with something for everyone. Despite the service issues, I will definitely be back. It's a high energy place that plays club-like music as if there's a DJ in the building. It was fun! Some might say it was a bit loud but I enjoyed it. Lots of tvs so you won't have to worry about not being able to see one from wherever you are sitting. And they stay open until 2 am. Great entertainment venue for Bham! And you don't have to be a golfer to enjoy it. Next time we'll make reservations to play. read more

I have yet to experience topgolf from a leisure standpoint, but their meeting room with catering was top notch. They served breakfast that was spot on. They kept the can drinks and coffee filled for people to make it through the planning meeting. Went for my sister's birthday with some friends and siblings. We were all 21 or younger and we think this may have been the reason for the poor service we were given. We had to wait fifteen or twenty minutes to speak to anyone if we needed anything and at one point our heater turned off and we could not figure it out so we had to sit in the cold until we could flag someone down. It was a fun experience to play but we felt as if we were bothersome for staff because they didn't think we would tip them (we never go anywhere without also being able to tip). Being a huge fan of TopGolf in Alpharetta, GA, I was excited to hear that Birmingham would get its own facility. Watching it being constructed increased my anticipation and I was happy to visit once it finally opened in December. For those unfamiliar, this place is basically where a driving range meets a sports bar and a giant dartboard or bowling alley. You don't have to be good at golf to fully enjoy (I know I'm not). The bays are heated for cold days, although one bay I hit at on the bottom level the heater timed off on a bitterly cold day and took a while to reactivate. You have to get a $5 membership card when you start here, but it is good for every time you return. The prices are per bay per hour, so hit as many balls as possible. Overall, you can get a better deal hitting balls here than at many driving ranges if you manage your time right. This is a great addition to Birmingham's entertainment options. Operations don't seem as smooth as I've seen at the Alpharetta; for example, Alpharetta has you pay w/ card at the bay while here they have you come back to the front desk when you're finished. I'm sure they will figure out how to run more smoothly in the coming months. I can't wait to see how TopGolf impacts downtown! read more

It's pretty terrible. Don't plan a date or anything to this place. Made a reservation online for 2:30pm on a Saturday. Arrived early and were given vague advice from the host that we would not be able to get in early. Ok so we went to our car to wait as there was no room at the bar. So we've been here now over 1 and a half hours and still no bay. We have to leave because our babysitter can only stay until 4:30pm. Looking thru the other yelp reviews this is not a covid thing. Waited 20 minutes for someone to take our drink order and we ended up going to the bar to order both food and drinks because we had yet to be attended to. When food came out 30 min later, it was all cold. We were excited to try the smokehouse burger but it was room temperature/coke along with the rest of the food. We were not checked on again until the end of our meal, so we didn't have a chance to let them know our food wasn't good. No drink refills either. While the environment is great and the staff are very friendly, the food is pretty bad. I had the worst burger I've ever eaten in my life there. It felt, looked and tasted like charcoal. My wife ordered the nachos and they looked and tasted like they'd been sitting under a heat lamp for 30 minutes, which is entirely possible because it took 47 minutes to get our food from the time we ordered. Missed/forgotten/late orders all night and that was IF we could track the server down. After the fact, God help you if you need a copy of your receipt. Another review said don't worry about bringing anything - and it's true you don't "have too" but you can. AND they don't have golf gloves to use. They sell them but not loaners. I had to wait a day to give this a review, in order to give an honest review. I was highly disappointed with my visit. Topgolf is so much fun and a very nice establishment, however they really need to work on their their food. The price of their food is too pricey to not be good. Everytime I have visited I have not enjoyed my food. This time I decided to try the fried chicken sandwich. It came out dry, overcooked, and without slaw. I was not pleased. The waitress was very nice and replaced my food with three smoke house burger after I expressed my displeasure in my food. The smokehouse burger appears to be the best thing on the menu. I would recommend you try it so that you won't be disappointed in your selection. No one in my party was satisfied with their food, except the ones that ordered the burger. The wings wasn't seasoned or cooked good. If you want to have a good time please go to topgolf. If you want a delicious meal stay far away. read more

What "topped" it off was our great server, his name is Dallas! He is so kind and did an excellent job taking care of us. Any issues we had, it was taken care of thanks to Blake! They might as well give me a bed in the back, because we've been spending a lot of time at TopGolf! But let's be honest what could be more fun!? This has become our go to to take friends and family to whenever they are in town. You have your own climate controlled bay and the staff is always so nice and polite. The food is priced nicely and the portion sizes are fair. The drinks are good. Just don't try the caramel coffee with the donuts. It's terrible. Hahaha! The Mac and cheese egg rolls are one of my favorites & if you are with a group for $10 more you get to play golf for an hour! Best new addition to Birmingham. The staff are always friendly and helpful. My favorite entree is the nachos with chicken. Always delicious. The little pizzas are also pretty decent. Drinks are a bit pricey to me but what can you do. I love that their app keeps track of your scores. They take online reservations now which is convenient. read more

I went on a Friday night around 7:00 it took about 30 minutes to get a bay on the top floor. The bay attendants seemed pretty busy at the time and did take a little longer than normal but understandably so, it was packed. Me and my coworkers golfed for about two hours and had a good time. The bay attendant was nice but they did bring me cheese fries with bacon that looked delicious but I ordered bacon cheese tatter tots, at that point I just had them take it back and take it off my bill because of how busy it was it would have taken them forever to correct my order. Birmingham is so lucky to have a Top Golf. I have been to many other locations from Tampa to Vegas and even though they are all the same this one has a different feel because it's in my hometown. The Top Golf experience is great for family and friends. We usually take a groups of 5-6 and spend at least 2 hours playing the games and drinking. The food is amazing from the burgers to the wings to the apps have haven't disappointed at all. I was really impressed with Top Golf when a group of my friends purchased the New Years Eve package is it was great. The staff was friendly, they provided us with a buffet that had prime rib that tasted as if it was from an high class steakhouse.
