Made reservations for three bays side by side (party of 15) earlier in week and they wanted to make sure food was ordered with reservations of this size. Night of reservation storm hits and one car of our three can't make it thru to get to location - all the whole we are trying to call place to see if they are still open but can't get thru. When rest of party gets there they explain the dilemma and the manager says no problem but then quickly rescinds that because the food was ordered and already started even though we tried to call and let them know. No big deal - certainly they will comp to a time The next day - they said they would call the next da ly to let know what time the bay that wasn't used could golf. We had a great time golfing and eating and waited for the call the next day. That day they called and said they have no openings on that day. Complete bs and bad business practice imho. Stand by what you say . Very disappointed. To get money for no service is not good business practice. Lost some Future customers with that move. Not to mention how many people will be told - hope you enjoy that extra $160 -!probably going to cost you thousands down the toad! read more

I made a reservation at 8 pm on august 4th and there was a 2 hour wait. My party and I didn't mind waiting but when we came back around 10 pm when they texted us that our reservation was ready the young man at the door informed us that we all had to be over 18 to play not just a few of us. This was extremely disappointing as we had planned our day around this and had already been waiting for hours just to be turned away for something that was never clarified when we made our reservation. I was bouncing between 3 and 4 Stars so I will go with 3 for a few reasons. I am glad they brought this to Kansas City. It's a nice addition for my adult family to go out and enjoy. This was a Father's day gift so I didn't foot the bill,. I ate before I came, good move on my part, since the food looked unappetizing. Drinks were way overpriced. And the hourly rate was $40 hour. We played 2 hours. This is just about right for a group of 4 or more. 1+ wait on the bay,. Bay table was still uncleaned, and the menu was nicely presented in the previous condensation on the previous drinks on the table,. I wiped the table with thier cloth napkin and tossed it and the menu on the ground next to the club holder in front of the employee showing my daughter how to get started. It sat there the entire time we played. The variety of games was nice,. It sometimes did not record your shot which was frustrating since I was playing against my son-in-law and I really wanted to beat him. I sure there is a way to correct that but did not flip through the screen to figure it out. We had a good time, it was a great day of fun,. I believe when I return,. Made reservations for a bay for 6 on a Sunday morning at 9AM. We got checked in and ordered drinks and breakfast then settled in to golf. The heated bays are fantastic but it was either too hot or too cold - we couldn't find that perfect temperature for the group. (I appreciate warm so I didn't Mind at all!) the food was good except the egg sandwich he's tasted like the salt shaker bay have dumped - way too salty for our likes, and we had two of them. The açaí bowl was very good - and all the fresh fruit was fabulous: kiwi, strawberries, melon, gravers, blueberries! The pork carnitas was very good and the side potatoes also delicious. We each took practice swings and then played two games. It is a great place to take a group and even non golfers can have fun and feel success! We enjoyed our morning together! We were unable to make a reservation so we repeatedly tried to call to find out if there was availability. We did not ever get through to a person...consistently placed on hold. We looked online and the site said to come on out...they only make a few reservations and leave the rest for walk ins. So, we drove out there. The site was full and they said no idea when we could get in...maybe it would be an hour, maybe two hours. It would have been nice to have found that out over the phone. They said the call center is overloaded due to COVID. How does that affect ability to answer the phone? Also, "no idea" is not a great answer when asked about the wait. Showed up at 8:10 and got to a bay right away which was the highlight of the evening. Ordered a few drinks and some nachos... waited... finally everything showed up, a few bites in realized nachos were flour tortillas (seriously who makes nachos with flour tortillas and doesn't say something in the menu?)... wife is gluten free, sent them back. Waiter pointed out that the cobb salad was marked GF, finally brought us some chips and guacamole around 9:05. The second mojito we ordered around 8:50 finally showed up 2 minutes before our time expired. We informed our waiter that we are leaving and he tells us that the last drink and the nachos would be taken off the bill. Finally the bill shows up (another wait that is longer than it should be) $72 bucks for a bay for an hour, one beer, one mojito, and some chips and guacamole... smh. Throw some cash in the folder and head for the door. Quick stop at the front desk to inform someone that the service was awful and we head to the car. We don't even get all the way down the steps when we hear (presumably a manager) ask us why we decided to not pay the bill tonight. We said we left cash, which he found tucked behind the bill when he actually opened the folder. Sad when the best service we got all night was when the wait thought we stiffed him. We don't come very often (can hardly afford it) but it will be a while before we return. read more

I am updating my review because within a day I had someone from Topgolf contact me concerning my experience. He seemed genuine and proactive which is rare to see in someone who isn't physically in the business. I have been meeting to try Topgolf forever, but just never made the time until this past Tuesday when I saw they are half price. I'm a sucker for a good deal, but I had no idea that every parent was taking their child for a last hoorah before school started. Ugh, I was annoyed by all of the children so maybe I need to go when school is actually in session. I realize that this is not Topgolf's fault so I'm not holding that against them. However, the service is not great. We had to wait about 30 minutes before a bay opened so we sat at the bar to order drinks and appetizers. I have a feeling there are a lot of people that wait in the bar area and don't order anything so I understand that the bartenders aren't as attentive as much as they should be. That said, we had menus out and were ready to go since we only had 30 minutes. We were approached once for our order, once for the food delivery, and then I had to wave someone down to get our check. We finished up at the bar and I ended up not ordering a drink because no one came to ask if we needed anything else. Next, we make it to the bay and sit there for 10 minutes waiting for anyone to helps us out as we had never been before. We played for an hour which was enough for us. Plus, it was also a really hot day so we were just sweating from top to bottom. It's a fun place and concept, but I don't see myself paying full price so who knows if I'll be back. read more

I am not one to do reviews. I have had this app for a long time and decided I would give back to the yelp community. This review is centered on service. I have been to Top Golf in Overland Park twice since July. While I have not been able to "play" (arm injury) I have enjoyed going with friends and my date- and watching them play. I have been on the top floor where a nice terrace type bar is, and that evening our service was excellent. In fact, I thought we had a manager serving us - he was invested and a great representative of Top Golf. His name was Derrick, he was professional, fun, energetic, top (pun intentional) quality, and on and on. The food was great and his forethought was exceptional. We did not need to ask for anything; he had it taken care of. We all agreed we would come back just for the service, so long as it is representative of the service we had with him. I also went for an event, and he happened to be involved in that same event. I was actually glad to see him again and see that he is consistent with his service. I did not share this with him- so maybe he will see it here. The event was flawless. Everyone enjoyed themselves playing, eating, and such. I am a strong believer in service. One good server can make a huge difference in your choice to go out. I don't pay money to have a lackluster experience. I pay more for the best experiences. I would reccomend Top Golf on Derrick's service alone. I will be going in again in hopes of coming across Derrick himself, or another college of his just as exceptional. read more

We went took a group of employees there on a Thursday around lunchtime without having reservations. The staff could not have been more helpful! From the second we walked in the door they made me feel at ease that our party of 18 would be well taken care of! We were an unorganized mess and the two main staff members that helped us had the patience of saints. The menu is huge and the food is great. Fun place and enjoyable. However went in on a Sunday morning and I would guess over 2/3rd the bays were unused and still had to wait over 40minutes to get a bay. Very disappointing. Staff claimed they had several large events coming in and everything was full??? Need to get their scheduling figured out as the entire time waiting bays sat unused while more and more people were waiting to get in. Maybe it was an issue not enough people working and could just be clear about that instead?? My issue was I didn't need food or drinks and just wanted to play. Sign me in and I don't need anything else from there. Seemed like basically any walk ins were second fiddle and top golf goal was pushing to get you to pay extra for a reservation. This place is fun but have some logistical issue to figure out. Set better expectations and for those that just want to play and don't need extra to get food drinks and the like, let them play. read more

Topgolf is great fun! I have been on the top floor, and the bottom floor at Topgolf before and I will say, the experience is much better on the top floor! All of the staff is very friendly and welcoming. You do not have to be good at golf to play, and you actually don't even have to be good at golf to win the different games they have because I beat my husband and I have never played golf. They have tv screens that direct you and tell you which holes will get you the most points and it helps show you where your ball was hit because sometimes it's hard to follow where your ball goes. The food is very good, so that is always a plus! We had the nachos and I'm pretty sure my husband would go back just for those alone. He also had his bachelor party there before we got married and all of the guys had a blast! I would recommend Topgolf to anyone and would love to go again sometime! read more

Went for a work event. There was about 20 of us. Wonderful service. We had chips with queso, salsa and guacamole. Then a fajita bar. Food was never empty and it was incredible for buffet. Beware they will rob you blind if your not careful! Make promises to fix it and blindside you later. On Friday at 6pm our party arrived to the TopGolf Overland Park, KS location, this was our second time at TopGolf. When we arrived our party was already seated in Bay 106, as a group we decided to wait for the bay 107 to open so we could split up our party. We added our members on bay 106 and before anyone played bay 107 opened up. We found a manager (Carrie) and requested if we could have bay 107 also. During this time she had deleted the player's information in order to split the party up and to have them moved over to bay 107. We were all under the assumption we could play on both sides for the remaining hours on bay 106, which was not the case. We were also unaware the fact we were charged twice, totaling $160 dollars for two hours of golf. After addressing the issue with Carrie her response and body language was well you should have known better. We explained that the front desk, waitress, and you failed to make us aware of being double charged. She offered to refund $40 dollars in which I declined because I was still paying $120 for two hours of golf at the driving range which was ridiculous. So I requested another manager to speak with and her response was she was it and any complaints would stop at her and would not be addressed. She was rude, had a poor attitude, and he unwillingness to do what was right was ridiculous. After we continued to back and forth about the situation, she finally agreed to refunding our $80 on bay 107 and providing 1 1/2 hours of golf at no additional expense. It seemed too good to be true after going back and forth for a few minutes I was shocked she would change her offer. Needless to say she returned our debit card, I immediately asked for a receipt verifying the refund which she declined stating it was all done electronically. I was apprehensive at first and decided to let it go taking her word. Come to find out today Tuesday March 29, 2016 I was only refunded $40 instead of $80. I fell for her tricks and lies, and I'm pissed. This whole experience was awful, I was lied to, disrespected, and scammed by this location. I paid $120 for a 1 1/2 of golf which is absolutely ridiculous. I could spend that money and play at a professional known golf course. I can now see how this corporation gets its money, they train their staff and management to lie and scam people that work hard for their money. Went yesterday evening with the wife. Got a card previously and went to put money on it and get a booth/lane. Was told it would be a 25-30 minute wait. After 40-45 minutes, still no call. Went to concierge to see status of our request. Was told it would be another 25 minutes. This is one of the hottest places to visit during peak times in Johnson County right now. If you're in idiot you'll go there on a weekend and battle hordes of people waiting in line and will probably complain about the long wait. Also if you're a really uppity and avid golfer looking to hone your skills practicing your swing in a quiet place, this is not for you. If you want to have a blast and have a really fun and unique experience at a driving range you will definitely want to come here. I would recommend getting in line first chance you get when they open on a Sunday morning. I went with three other people and waited in line maybe 10 minutes and was able to get a bay right away. The computerized console that tracks the distance of your balls and different targets to hit also allows you to be competitive with different gameplay options. Went to this location for a company event the staff was rude from the moment i walked in. This was my first time coming to a place like this mind you so i didnt know what i was doing. I walked up got in line to reserve a bay. The person at the desk didnt greet me they asked "what do you need" i stated i wanted to reserve a bay for a company event for 12 - 15 people. She said ok wheres you player card. I stated i wasnt sure what that was as i had never been there so she said go over there( without even pointing so i had no idea where to go) i cant get you a bay and asked for the next person in line. Confused i asked another employee who was nice. And pointed me in the right direction. After getting the card i went back to the first line to reserve. She Let me know it would be an hour to 1 1/2 hours which was fine it was busy no big deal. I went to the bar and as my group arrived we ordered drinks. The bartender was awesome at first. Until our group all wanted to pay seperately something that im sure is not uncommon. And he was visibly annoyed shook his head at us and said "Oh youre all seperate?" Very rudely. We got our bay almost exactly at the time they said which was great. Our waitress was mackenzi she was great. Then 2 members of our group went to smoke and accidentally went to the wrong door and set off an alarm. Another waitress during this time stated "Im sure glad i dont have THEM" very loudly to our waitress and then made a gesture of a fake gun and pretended to shoot herself in the head. Mind you we were not being rude or difficult in anyway as we all work in customer service. It was a simple mistake that im sure happens all the time. We spent at least $400 dollars over the course of the night probably more. Between the food the drinks and the multiple games we were paying for. We were still drinking getting food and playing. And an employee comes over with 3 other employees to tell us we need to leave because other people are waiting and rushes us out as we are still trying to pay for our tabs and hang out near us while we are signing and paying to repeatedly tell us that we need to go because other people are waiting. I will never spend ny money at this location again. I will suggest somewhere else cor our next event. Luckily my team is great and we still had fun together but we were not treated the way you would expect. read more

I love this place! What a nice change up for something fun. I went with some friends who are really good at golf & some who have never played. We all had a blast. Skill level does not matter. You also get a waiter/waitress while you golf so you can enjoy some cold ones and food. The food was surprisingly great. My only complaint is that our waiter would not shut up. Don't get me wrong I love them to check in often for refills, but he would not leave or stop talking. Other than that, we had a blast. One tip: get your players card before you go. It is $5 for a lifetime card, but you need one to get on the list to golf. You will avoid going in the players card line if you already have one. read more

Tonight was my first experience at Top Golf ever! Heck, it was my first time holding and swinging a golf club since I was in high school! And that was just once! But I seriously had a blast! And this was just a weeknight date! I can't wait to get a bunch of friends to go together when work is not on the horizon! Checking in and getting the card that you need to play was super easy and fast. The parking lot looked really full so we figured there would be a wait (good thing there's a very large bar downstairs with food on the menu too for just that reason!), but there was no wait and we even got the 3rd level which my date told me was easier to make the ball go farther. Being a first timer I just took his word for it. Everything was easy, from setting up your game play to a waitress being readily available to take our order. Their menu had quite a few things to choose from including cocktails to yummy food! We had the chicken nachos and they were fantastic! I can't remember the name of the cocktail I had but it was made with whipped orange vodka, orange juice, and sprite. Tasted like an alcoholic dreamcicle! Having this be my first time here, my overall thoughts were this; This is a great place for a community group (wether it be a church based one or not) to get together or even to have a family gathering for a birthday! But do be careful about how much you are paying per hour (prices are on their website)! The costs can add up! I've only had one problem (and it was a technical issue) while I was there. Overall (and if you are wanting food, eat before, it gets pricey after awhile) it was a great first time! The nachos are fantastic however the quesadillas were not up to par. The guy who served our bay actually stayed to watch me hit a shot. One recommendation would be (so players wouldn't get overheated) to have small fans in addition to the AC you guys provide. Came here with 4 others. We had lunch and golfed during the hour we rented a bay. Our waitress "Ashley" was very friendly and offered us many options. She could tell that we were cold and offered us warm beverages to start the day! She gave us a few minutes with our menus and we ordered two flat breads, one was the Prosciutto, artichoke & olive as well as the char grilled steak. A few side salads and a turkey wrap in salad form was a new option. The artichoke flat bread was great! Char grilled flat bread was OK. Great atmosphere for groups and tons of young employees walking around but service is slow and this comes from multiple viaits. Private events are not cheap and wait times for non private events can be long if you don't get here early to reserve a bay. Checked in and was told there was a 90 minute wait so our group ate dinner to pass the time. The restaurant/bar was loud but food was good and beer was ice cold. Our number was up at just over 2 hours and by that point we'd decided to leave. We were disappointed the wait estimate was off by so much. We ate, drank and had a good time but ended up leaving because of the ridiculous wait time to play. Staff was curt, said other people had waited that long. Told me " you checked in at 5 and my system shows you only waited an hour". It was 8:30 when we were having the conversation so that clearly was not correct. Will not go back or sing many praises. Crappy experience and felt like the whole " if you pay an extra $50 you get to cut" was kind of schemey. Set up so you will eat, drink, etc and spend lots of cash while you wait. Spent $310 between 4 people, we ordered dinner our last 10 min of play, they asked us to move in side, no problem at all as it was hot and there was AC inside, our food was not there for 45 more min and not a single server addressed that we were there for 25 min, and after notifying them, it took another 20 min for food or drinks to come. We planned on hanging out and watching ball games and drinking post golf, but not with that poor of service. They should find a new manager cause that guy was worthless! read more
