I have only really had the food from here as take out, so I cannot comment on the ambiance. I can say that the food I have eaten has been pretty consistent and pleasant. I even tried throwing a curveball and ordered their apple walnut crunch salad, DELICIOUS! Aside from a classic Caesar salad, apple walnut salads are my favorite and theirs did not disappoint. For me, they were very generous with the bleu cheese which was balanced with the help of the apples and walnuts. If I want a treat of a salad, I am ordering from here! read more

Johnny's has long been my family's go-to for causal fare. Tonight, we decided to order takeout. I placed an order on the Johnny's website and was pleased to see curbside pickup was an option. It's been a long week, and I was happy to be able to stay in my car to pick up my family's meal. I placed the order and received a text that my order was ready, so I headed to the restaurant. I parked in one of the spots that is clearly marked "Curbside Parking Only," and waited. And waited. For about 5 minutes. I saw several servers on the patio, and a couple walked by me to go take a vape break. No one acknowledged me. No biggie. They were busy/on break. So I called the restaurant. This is where things went downhill. I told the young woman on the phone that I was there for a curbside pickup order and had been waiting for a little while. I asked if I was supposed to call and check in or something. Her response? "Oh. Yeah, we don't do that anymore." So I said, "Well it was an option online, and I'm parked in front of the curbside parking only signs, so can you maybe have someone remove it as an option from the website and take down the signs?" She replied, snottily, "I can tell my boss." AND THEN SHE HUNG UP ON ME. She didn't apologize or offer to have someone bring it out just this one time. Nothing. She just hung up on me. I stormed inside, got my food, and went home. When I got home, part of our order was missing. This was by far the worst experience I've had at any restaurant, and it will be a very long time before I go to any Johnny's location again. read more

Wings are very muck. The Wilson sauce is some of the most muck wing sauce in town. Not to mention is reasonably priced. #Muck-athon

A solid staple for bar dining food, this trip was a bit of a disappointment. The location is great, adjacent to the Corinth Square in Prarie Village, and the outside patio seating gives you a sheltered feel from the busy street and shopping center. To start things off we went for the Cobb Salad. Plenty of sliced mewts and cheese over iceberg lettuce was fine, but lacked anything special. However we thought the pizza special would be the way to go (we are usually sandwich fans) but it was not what we had hoped. Medium thick crust, slathered with a mediocre plain tomato sauce and dried out pepperonis and too much American cheese just didn't cut it. While the large can definitely feed 4, it just wasn't worth it. And an hour later we were gulping water from a salt explosion. Saddest of all though was the beer. Nothing worse than a near room temp beer on a hot day. We do like the Johnny's chain but this location probably needs some TLC to be on a par with their colleagues. read more

Food was not very good. I got the tank 7 burger and when it came out it was super pink in the middle, probably medium rare. They were nice though and got me a new one but it took 30 or so minutes to remake. It was alright. The service overall was below average and super slow. Grabbed dinner with my family at Johnny's on a Friday night. We tried to go elsewhere, but Johnny's didn't have a wait at 6:00 on a Friday. By the time we left, it was busy. We got the cauliflower and Brussels sprouts appetizer and the bleu burger. Both were good. The sauce that comes with the cauliflower is delish! We're in from out of town & drove by this place. When we walked in place was open & inviting. Got a spot by the window for our group of 5. Plenty of beers on tap for the beer drinker. Our server was quick and knowledgeable about the drinks and food on the menu. We did order the pretzels. The two pretzels more then enough for the 5 of us. I had the grilled Buffalo chicken sandwich with the homemade hot sauce. Which was excellent. 2 got the French dip & fries. The French dip was the usual French dip. 2 got the dodge city & fries. Which is a half pound burger with an onion ring on top. They said it was excellent also. The seasoned fries where excellent also. Tried this place through door dash this evening, got an 18 inch pepperoni and an order of mozzarella sticks. Mozzarella sticks were ok... may have been better fresh from the restaurant. But the pizza was just terrible...really big but bland and dry ... I've been trying a lot of the pizza in the KC area this past year, and I would recommend looking elsewhere for pizza... This homey bar and grill has good food that never disappoints and everyone is so nice. My grandma and I frequently come and the staff is always so accommodating to her needs which is great to see. I had the absolute worst experience I've ever had at Johnnys Tavern. Our waitress/bartender repeatedly forget to put in our drinks and food orders that left us waiting for over an hour for each item. We waited so long for the food that we decided to cancel it. I went up to the bar to get my check, and our waitress incorrectly charged me for my items. Because of this, as we were leaving she came running out of the bar yelling at us for not paying for all of our items. To which I told her I did and she was the one who incorrectly charged us. She said she didn't care and that I had to pay for my items, when I looked at the receipt she charged me for two beers that we didn't order. I don't think I'll be coming back here. read more

The one word to best describe Johnny's is "comfortable". We come here fairly often, usually on Thursdays for the Buy One Get One free hamburgers. Then came a suggestion from her: their new beer collaboration with Free State Brewery, the Blue Collar Lagar. Wow - smooth to the taste!!!! A wonderful, very drinkable beer, that if I had the day off, on a hot summer day? Yep, a pitcher of this would go down WAY to easy!!! I didn't want to eat too much, so did the $6.99 Johnny's lunch combo. Chose the Chicken Salad sandwich, with a cup of Chicken Tortilla soup (soup of the day). First, the soup. Thick, with a strong flavor profile -- how a tortilla soup should taste. Topped with crunchy tortilla strips, a very satisfying hot soup on a chilly day. The chicken salad sandwich -- meh! Fallon tried to steer me toward the tuna salad sandwich -- should have listened to her!!! Now, was the chicken salad good? Yes. My personal preference, however, is for a more savory chicken spread (usually complemented with grapes.) This version is a little sweeter than I like, but again, it tasted fine. I'm sure most people would love it. On toasted bread. I wish it had been warmer so we could have sat on the outdoor patio ... summer will return someday (if we're good!) read more

My lunch experience was very good. My roast beef sandwich with chili ($6.99 daily soup, sandwich, salad pick two lunch special) was delicious. The sandwich had a very generous amount of meat, and the chili had plenty of meat and beans. The service was friendly, cheerful, and attentive. Johnny's is a fun Sports bar located in the Corinth Shopping center in the heart of Prairie Village. It boasts a spacious interior with a large bar area, numerous booths and lots of TVs for watching the sport of your choice. Be careful though, if KU is playing you'll be hard-pressed to find a TV not tuned to the Jayhawks as Johnny's is a hot spot for local Kansas fans. Johnny's also has a back patio with plenty of seating, a TV and speakers tuned in to the Jukebox inside. Each night offers different specials food and drink specials, and Wednesday is trivia night. The Menu is that of a classic bar, but I highly recommend the pepper jack bites (probably two orders if you're with friends) and the buffalo chicken wrap (offering a low-carb option with a spicy kick). The bar was slightly empty when I visited, but the wait staff, the drink specials and the Jukebox made the night a fun and successful adventure. read more

Worth returning for the Wilson style wings. They had good flavor and the cooking methods took them beyond standard bar wings. Everything else was decent and food you could get at any bar. Sometimes they get a little heavy on the toppings, which you would think would be a good thing, but it's seriously...a lot of toppings. I just take off what I don't want, still my favorite pizza! Came here for dinner around 6pm last week and was super disappointed. The service was slow (on a weekday - not packed either) and our food took over 45 minutes to come out. Our server kept saying it was almost ready, but how could we believe her by the third time she told us that? It's hard not to compare this location with the other Johnny's in town - for some reason the food tasted worse than the same food we've ordered at their other locations! My milk stout tasted off, my husband's beer wasn't cold, and all around it was a sub-par dining experience. We agreed that we'd rather drive to the Johnny's off 95th than come back to this one, even though it's closest to our house. read more
