I'm just a good ole boy, wino in training, having moved here about a month ago from Silicon Valley (no place for ole men any-longer). The Trecini experience is different from what tourists seem to gravitate to, you know the disneyesque/romantic vision of a winery. Trecini is a tasting boutique where one enjoys privacy along with personal attention. Plenty of time for questions from a master at the trade. Tasting only whites, as red's chemical additives trigger a migraine, Cathleen pointed out many of their wines come from Italy with "no" additives. This led to me tasting one of their wonderful reds with no reaction. There was also a very interesting surprise when she introduced me to their Sparkling Rockpile Zinfandel. They partner with Mumm to produce this fun, delicious wine. I'm committed to the claims, purchased some. Where are they; Located on what some might call a side street from Downtown Santa Rosa. The ambiance is upscale, chic and inviting. Seating is ample - 4th St Cellars offers a two story seating area, bar area seating and beautiful outdoor patio seating as well. For our visit we sat next to the fire place and shared a bottle of Pinot Noir. The employees were both welcoming and accommodating. They offered us a cheese plate to share which was a nice touch, we enjoyed the light snacks with our Pinot. At first the wine bar was fairly empty but before we knew it there was a full house. They had live music which we really enjoyed - the music wasn't so loud it over powered our conversation. Overall I'd give 4th St Cellars a 9/10. My only reservation and slight critique was the odd experience we had when selecting our wine. We asked for tastings of the Pinot and Cabernet before selecting our bottle. We were bought one tasting of each for my friend and I to share - meaning we shared our glass. While we didn't mind sharing germs I found it a bit odd lol. Our thought was we weren't clear in how we wanted to try the wine. He explained each wine and the regions they came from in a way that was easy to understand but still really interesting--perfect whether you're a casual sipper or more into the details. The standout for us was the 2019 Zinfandel--bold, smooth, and just really memorable. Definitely the one we're still talking about. Beyond the wine itself, wandering through the sculpture gardens added something really special to the visit. We were given a delicious pour of their non vintage brut rose as a welcome pour. I enjoyed all of the wine that we tasted through.
