The wasabi and a really nice kick and I just love the flavor profile of the bowl. The avocado is another really good part of this bowl as I think it pairs really well with the salmon and the rice. I feel that the serving size was a little smaller than I expected as I chose the largest option. It didn't seem like that big of a bowl for the price. One thing to note here is the small parking lot next to the building. It's just part of the deal with going to a place in the River Market. If you can't find a spot in the lot, there are a few others close by. One other thing to note is the business does not allow changes to its bowl recipes on app orders.

The fish taste fresh, there are many options for toppings and it literally taste like a walk on Lewers (street in Waikiki). I didn't go in store, I doordashed however the employees provided me with utensils, napkins and soy sauce which I did add to my poke bowl. I can't say how the restaurant necessarily feels but based on this poke bowl, like a salty, warm breeze in a tropical paradise, again Hawaii.

Located right off Metcalf, this hidden gem offers an impressive variety of fresh, flavorful options in a fun and modern atmosphere. We started with appetizers like dumplings and egg rolls--crispy, well-seasoned, and perfectly cooked. The boba teas were also super refreshing, with great flavor options. The star of the show? Their signature sushi boat! You get to choose 4-5 specialty rolls from a delicious lineup, and every single one was a hit. Beautifully presented and packed with flavor--this is sushi done right. They also offer customizable bowls and specialty Hoki plates, with a variety of proteins like teriyaki chicken, beef, and more. Whether you're going for a casual lunch or dinner with friends, Hoki Bar delivers on taste, portion size, and value. Definitely adding this to my list of go-to sushi spots in Kansas City! You can also order ahead of time online. I ordered - guava boba and it was fruity and sweet. Boba had good texture. - Chili Crisp Shrimp Dumplings. Good amount of shrimp which I was surprised by, nice flavor and sauce - 3-protein poke bowl (cooked shrimp, salmon, tuna) with mango, seaweed salad, atop lettuce. Very customizable and fun. Very filling. Lots of protein and fish tasted fresh. - spam musubi for a snack the next day on my flight. Solid. The interior was bright and airy. Fun music plays and I like the art. They also sell cute kitschy gifts from local artists. Nice healthy option which I needed after having some barbecue!

Definitely doesn't appear to be ADA accessible, but if you are able to walk up the steep flight of stairs, it's a cute little space. There was nobody in there when we went just prior to dinner time which was nice for us, but I hope not bad for them. The offerings were fairly standard and yummy! Nice big servings but I had hoped that both the tuna and salmon would be prepared the same way. Ultimately I can't complain about the food or the location and would return if I were in the area. Would be cool if they did something to differentiate themselves slightly from the other poke places nearby!

The restaurant was very nice--tastefully decorated with authentic touches that felt intentional and refined. The large canvas artwork added character without overwhelming the space. It struck a perfect balance: elegant but comfortable. The staff was attentive, welcoming, and knowledgeable about the menu. They were patient and accommodating, especially with our little one, which always makes a difference when dining out with family. We started with the sampler platter, which included fresh spring rolls, crispy spring rolls, and a variety of other traditional bites. Everything was prepared well--the fresh rolls were vibrant and clean tasting, while the crispy rolls had a satisfying crunch without being greasy. For entrées, my wife ordered the Vietnamese pork chop with the perfectly runny egg over broken rice. The pork was well-seasoned and cooked just right, and that egg brought everything together beautifully. I ordered the Bánh Mì and a bowl of pho. The pho had the perfect level of spice--balanced, aromatic, and comforting. The broth had depth, and you could tell it was crafted with care. The Bánh Mì was equally impressive; the baguette was toasted just right--crispy on the outside, soft on the inside--holding all the flavors together without overpowering them. What truly stands out is that Broken Rice delivers this level of quality without being overly expensive. It's a great value for authentic, well-executed Vietnamese cuisine. And most importantly--our niece enjoyed herself too, which says a lot. I would absolutely recommend Broken Rice to anyone looking for a satisfying, authentic dining experience in a warm and welcoming atmosphere
