    Roast duck woven noodle

Delicious spot if you are looking for some authentic Vietnamese food! Menu is extensive, but lots of good options to choose from. We started with the spring rolls which were fresh and can tell they were recently made. For our mains we couldn't pass up the roast duck woven rice special. Talk about a statement platter-kind of a build your own adventure! We also had the pork steak platter. Everything was delicious and highly recommend if stopping by. Final review: 5/5 stars

Im so glad I finally tried broken rice. Their Vietnamese food is super authentic and I love the variety that they offer. I ordered the grilled pork with egg roll woven noodles and my fiancée ordered the grilled sliced pork plate with all the sides. Everything was so flavorful and the parking is super convenient.

Great experience at this hidden gem. I ordered the beef sampler because it was my first time and it offers a taste of everything they have to offer. The rice with egg on top was delicious and the spicy sauce on the side was perfect to pour on top. The beef was tender and flavorful. I can't wait to come back and get the duck sampler.

I was in the mood for pho and was excited to see that Broken Rice offered a seafood pho!! The seafood was very fresh!!The mussels were still on the half shell and the shrimp, calamari and fish balls were delicious! The restaurant is beautifully decorated, open and airy, and everyone especially the owner was so friendly! I had been here before and thought the food was good, but I thought the pho was amazing! I would definitely recommend

Delicious Food, Fun Atmosphere, Unique Menu We Ordered and shared everything, that is definitely the way to get the best experience. The Banh Tieu ( stuffed doughnut ) is more like a Runza, delicious pork inside a savory bread. There is one, so it can be shared, but also enjoyed by oneself. Banh Mi is delicious! We ripped it in half and loved it. I ordered the combo woven vermicelli and the pork and shrimp were delicious My friend ordered the Spicy beef soup ( with blood jelly ). I tied the jelly and it was good, but way too spicy ( I'm a wimp ) The Grilled Chicken with the Broken Rice was my second favorite ( the pork in the " doughnut " and with the vermicelli is #1 ). The TV's are set to random network broadcasts which are distracting... Food and service, 5 stars

I came here with the intention of trying their banh mi. As someone who used to live in Dallas, where Vietnamese food was plentiful, and as a Vietnamese person myself, my standards are pretty high when it comes to banh mi. Sadly, I'd say that the banh mi I received fell below my expectations. Not that it tasted bad - it actually tasted pretty good. My critique is that for the price, it was criminally small. For almost eight dollars, I expected a larger loaf (based on other Vietnamese restaurants I've visited in the past). Maybe it's inflation, but sadly, the days of $4 banh mi seem to be over, at least in KC. Secondly, the bread itself didn't seem quite right. When I eat a banh mi, I expect the bread to be airy, fluffy, soft on the interior, with a flaky, crackly crust exterior that crunches when you've bit into it. There's even a joke that when you eat banh mi, the roof of your mouth should feel like it's been scraped by the bread, and the amount of bread crumbs you drop because of the flaky/crackly crust should be noticeable. This bread felt less like a traditional Vietnamese style loaf, and more like a French baguette - the difference should not be missed! As for the fillings, that was fine - good amount of meat, and comes with the expected cilantro, cucumber, jalapenos, pate, and pickled daikon and carrots. I'm raising my review to 4 stars because of the pictures of the other dishes at this restaurant. It does look like the variety offered is decent, and everything looks well made and authentic. If I came back, I'd be willing to try the other dishes offered. In terms of take out service, not too bad. I think I waited 10-15 minutes for my banh mi. There's also plenty of seating inside if you choose to dine in.

I always have such a good experience here and always inhale the food too quickly and forget to post. Luckily, I was able to get some pictures of our delicious entrees this time! I love that Broken Rice has an amazing selection of Vietnamese street food. I got the sliced grilled pork combination with all the delicious fixin's . Definitely a deluxe broken rice dish! My sister got the roasted duck special and let me try a bit. It was so flavorful. The beautiful, fresh veggies on it were added freshness that brightened up the dish. Service was good and friendly. The atmosphere is good for family dining. Casual and fun. You can be alone or with a group. I can't wait to go back and try a few different dishes!

Grabbed dinner with friends on a Monday night. It was pretty empty, and we were seated immediately. My husband and I shared a short rib broken rice platter and the sliced pork bahn mi. The platter was just ok, but the bahn mi was incredible. The bread was fresh, the meat was well seasoned. If I went back, I'd stick with bahn mi! Service was kind.

I was in town for a conference and was craving Vietnamese food and who wouldn't thought this place would have me coming back for more! We came 2 days in a row. The pho was spectacular and the owner was so friendly. She was fast and efficient and food came out in a timely manner. I love how clean this place was and the atmosphere really felt like home. The food prices were inexpensive as entrees were only $10+. Ofcourse, I had to order 2 entrees. I really enjoyed the pho dac biet, the broth was tasty and so yummy on a cold day in KC. The banh mi was good as well as the spring rolls. You can't go wrong with that. I am still drooling thinking about the food!

Never disappointed when dining here, I pretty much get the sane things every time I dine in due to the food being so delicious! I come here so often everyone knows exactly what I'm going to order lol. I get the beef stew pho, and the short rib entree with a lavender lime aid. One of the best pho in Kansas City hands down. I've tried them all and they are all 10/10.

This place is a little mom and pop shop that was very welcoming from the time I walked in. I was greeted by an older gentleman who possibly could have been one of the owners- he welcomed me immediately and was very hospitable, helping me navigate their menu which had a good variety of rice, noodles and soup plus plenty of appetizers. They also sold a lot of Asian groceries; coffee, ramen and even clothes. You could tell the restaurant had been there a while and there seemed to be a lot of regulars; I could tell from the conversations they had with the owners/workers. The waiter, I believe was also one of the owners who was an older lady but very busy cleaning, waiting and maneuvering around the restaurant. She was also very friendly and apologized about the delay and said there wasn't many people who wanted to work these days, so she was the one doing most things. I didn't think they took longer than any other restaurant- I got charbroiled chicken with rice and pickled veggies and a side of egg rolls. The chicken was really good and very flavorful and hit the spot for my Vietnamese craving! I would definitely try this place again when I return. Plus I'd buy some grocery because not many Asian groceries available in the town where my family lives.

The menu has popular items in the appetizers, banh mi, fried rice, vermicelli and rice noodles sections. They also had several different types of boba and regular drinks We stared with the spring rolls and sugarcane shrimp. Both were okay. For entree we ordered the fried rice, steamed rice with grilled chicken and shrimp noodle soup. I didn't particularly like the steamed rice, as it was the dry hard grain ones. The grilled chicken also a like I usually get in other places, tasted very different. Fried rice was probably the best one. Our server was friendly. The dishes came out quickly. But overall I wasn't really impressed with any of the dishes, since I had much food taste wise in many other Vietnamese restaurants.

Seafood pho is standard. Broth is warmth, with lemon it gives the sour and rich flavor. Noodles are thin and good texture. I wish there's a little bit more seafood in there (some imitation crab meat, small fish balls, 2 shrimps). But the price is very friendly. The portion definitely reflects the price. Spring rolls and fried shrimp are not bad. But again, smaller size. For quick comfort food with lower price, this restaurant can be a good choice. Staff is friendly.
