The food is very delicious. I would like to see some additions to the menu but I definitely recommend giving them a try.

As far as Chinese food goes, it's not bad. Probably the only Chinese spot that serves bourbon chicken in the area which has a really nice sweet and savory sauce. Their lunch specials are priced well and it's always nice to have an egg roll to go alongside your meal. There's nothing particularly striking about this place to rave about, but I will be returning whenever I'm back in the area. read more

It is your typical Chinese carry out spot. The staff isn't always the friendliest, but the food is decent. I got veggie fried rice with egg and spare ribs. The ribs had a good, sweet flavor, but they were tough. I don't usually have an issue with them. I guess they were tough because I went pretty late in the evening. The rice was good though. Not Afraid to be Vegan Friendly I asked if the General Tso sauce was vegan so I could have it with the mixed veggies and was told no, it is bulk made with flesh broth so I could only get the white sauce. I ordered the Mixed Vegetables with the white sauce and the sauce was SO FLAVORFUL!!!! I think I have a new favorite! The food quality is good-the vegetables cooked to perfection and fresh. Top China is one of my favorite Chinese restaurants in Hopewell. Food is always fresh. My favorite dishes are chicken and broccoli in garlic sauce or shrimp egg foo young. I enjoy their egg foo young because the gravy isn't to watery or to thick. Nice flavor to it. The price is reasonable and food is ready pretty quickly, usually within 15min. Only downside is they don't deliver. I haven't eaten inside, always order take out. My bf loves the general chicken and enjoys the crab Rangoon as well. No complaints from me. read more

This is the only restaurant I order from since it's local. However, I've notice the inconsistency over the past few times I've order with them. The price remains the same, but there's been certain orders where I received less than what I should be getting. I ignored it a few times because people make mistakes and that's okay. HOWEVER. lately it's been less and less and less. I'm starting to feel like they're taking advantage of me as a returning customer. This is just my personal experience though. Good lord - I still feel the grease bomb after eating lunch here...five years ago. This place hasn't changed a bit. I stopped by thinking I would get something to eat - but after seeing the same set up, the same dishes, same menu, and same musty smell to the joint mixed in with caked in oil, I lost my appetite. Something about eating better food in DC a la Oriental East made me never want to come back here again. Went to China Wok after a trying day to order my favorite Chinese food. Began to order and then changed my mind and wanted to order something else. The worker ignored my requests to him to change my order and on the fourth try to get his attention he proceeded to scream out "YES" in the most impolite way. Went in during lunch, no friendly greeting, stood at the counter for quite awhile before being acknowledged, normally I would have left after a few minutes as I feel it's rude and not very professional to have customers at the counter and not even bother to greet or explain that it would be a few moments before someone is available. It's apparent they were readying orders that were called in already and didn't seem to concerned about walk-ins. Finally, after 7 minutes acknowledgement comes and we're asked for our order, the place is unassuming & divish, you grab your drink from a cooler that sits off to the side of the counter and pay for it with your order, we then took a seat to wait for our meal, not too long before she appears with the food, typical american chinese fare, fried rice (house) wings, shrimp lo-mein, paper plates/plastic ware, the taste was average, nothing special, it hit the spot for that moment in time, the entire experience was underwhelming, so much so I forgot to leave a tip, lol...just thought about how much I left, I wouldn't return to this joint, there are many in the area that must have better customer service/food. read more

Your average Chinese food joint. Most places don't serve bourbon chicken so that was a surprise. The food was good. Hot. Nothing was watery or needed extra seasoning. Tops has been one of my go to places for years. The chicken sticks there are the best I've ever had. They are a no frills place but you get high quality Chinese standards there. I always order the lo mein and ask them to make it spicy, which they always do. I recommend the chicken sticks, general tso, crab rangoon, and pretty much anything. If your looking for a deal, ask for the combo meal which comes with fried or white rice and some come with an egg roll. The combos are huge portions. I wouldn't say this is an eat in kind of place but definitely good for carry out. They never take more than 10 minutes to complete your order. Hard working people who are always scrambling to get orders to you as fast as possible. Food quality is great for the price. My favorite is beef and broccoli combo. You can tell those are some good quality beef. They may not always greet you properly, but you can't blame them since each person is doing the jobs of 3 McDonald's employees. They have gone up on their prices and the portions are smaller, even the shrimp fried rice has less shrimp in it than previous. Ex: chicken and broccoli combo which comes with pork fried rice and one eggroll is now $7.50. That's too much for a take out place. The food is usually pretty good. read more

Going to Top's China was one of the worst experiences I have had with a restaurant in a long time. From the moment we walked in the lady working was curt and rude. I didn't quite catch the total of my meal. She snapped when I asked her to repeat it. I felt like she clearly didn't want us there. I actually asked if we could sit at one of her tables and eat, and she said "no! Take your food and eat at home." I might add my friend and I are on a road trip and our homes are over 2000 miles away. Her sign in front says. "Eat in or dine out". The sign also said they had a lunch buffet till three. There was no buffet and we were there at two o'clock. The place was dirty, the fried rice was bland, the main dish was just okay, and the hot sour soup had no flavor. I would not consider dining at this place again if my life depended on it. They should not even be in business. read more

The service is always excellent here and they are fairly fast. The food is average, nothing to write home about but nothing nasty either. The one thing I do really like is the family meal they offer, you get a choice of four things plus egg rolls for a set price that is very reasonable. read more
