Came here with 4 friends, we all love Thai food and we picked this one for a birthday dinner. It was a slow night, service was quick and our server was very nice and attentive. She explained things to us and answered all our questions. The restaurant is nice, clean and cozy. We had a good time sitting and chatting. Nice environment. The food was good, I had the pad see ew. I also tried a Thai tea the server recommended since I don't drink. I liked the tea but it was a little bit too sweet for me. My friends enjoyed their foods and drinks as well. We received our food in a timely manner. They gave my friend a sweet birthday treat. We plan on visiting again, I would love to try other things on the menu.

Really disappointing takeout experience. The rolls were okay, but the sushi itself was not good at all. The curry was extremely watery, and while the drunken noodles were decent, the bigger issue was the pad Thai, it had a piece of crumpled tin foil buried in it. We called and they only refunded that one item, but honestly the whole experience fell short. Pretty concerning from a quality and food safety standpoint.

Absolutely the worst Thai food experience we have ever had. We had the Pad Thai and the Pad See Ew. The meat was dry and overcooked. The noodles were mush. The dish was completely flavorless.

This was a charming Thai restaurant with great decor. The staff were present and very kind. The food was outstanding. You have to check this place out!

Came here one night with one of my girlfriends. I ordered the money bag appetizer and the cashew chicken. These are two very new things for me to try. I typically only order penne, curry with chicken or pad Thai with chicken. My meal was good, but it's probably something I wouldn't order again. Nothing wrong with it. I just prefer my other two choices more. the money bags were hit between me and my girlfriend. I did order a cocktail, but I have no idea what it was called, but it was very delicious. I think I would rather order takeout from here versus sitting in again. I felt like we barely saw our waitress and would sit for long periods of time when we needed more water or missing utensils.

I'd never eaten here before, but stopped in on Thursday because I'd been craving Thai and needed to start my search on where to get Thai food around the Richmond area. I came in around 1 with a dining partner and we were seated fairly quickly. I had no idea that the restaurant was decorated with a Harry Potter theme, but I was very pleased by it all because I'm also a big fan. The dining room seemed busy for a random Thursday and there appeared to be only one waitress to help at least 5+ tables (each table with anywhere from 2-5 people). I'll come back to that later! For an appetizer we ordered pot stickers to share, and for $8 we got 4 pot stickers. They were pretty good, but probably not worth $2 per PS. We ordered chicken pad Thai and received chicken and shrimp pad Thai; I wasn't sure how much of a price difference there would be by choosing 2 meats, but we received something we didn't ask for and chose to be considerate about it and not send it back. We also ordered the Capital Yumm noodles with pork. The pad Thai was pretty good, but it wasn't life changing. The capital Yum noodles were also pretty good, but the sweet soy sauce they were in was so incredibly sweet I couldn't finish my half of the lunch portion. So, back to the waitress. She was fast with getting orders in and getting people all paid up, but we were never checked on or offered any refills. I had a specialty drink and a glass of water but both were empty halfway through the meal because of how salty and sugary the noodle dishes were. I had to beg my eating partner to share their water and thankfully they did. What I wasn't expecting was the odd sort of carb/salt/sugar coma I fell into after I left. The lunch portions were decently sized but I probably tackled 40% of each one since we were sharing and had to push off the extras onto my friend. For hours after I left, I felt exhausted AND really thirsty. It was such a jarring feeling, but I know it was my body telling me my salt and sugar levels were through the roof. If you're like me and you're sensitive to excessive flavorings, but also like to have a lot of liquid to wash your food down with, I would go as far as suggesting you bring a tumbler of water with you so you have something to turn to when your table drinks run out.

I was googling Thai places near me and chose Capital Thai because of their good reviews. Ordered takeout - an order of curry puffs, sticky rice & and fresh summer rolls. Got home to open it and was underwhelmed with the amount of food. Two in each order & the rice was less than half full in a sandwich baggy inside the box. It was $20.00!!!!!! I'm not one to write reviews, but I couldn't believe I paid that much to still be hungry & it was just okay. The curry puffs were overcooked and that made them extremely dry. Disappointed :/

Wife and I went out for a date night. This place was not busy on a Thursday night, which when you walk in, you wonder. BUT. Staff is friendly and very nice. Wife had been craving chicken pad Thai for awhile now, but outside the city, it's hard to find. Last takeout we tried was disgusting. This place was so yummy. Tried their special for appetizer, a portobello stuffed with spicy salmon and shrimp. Really good! Wife got her pad Thai and it totally was everything she was looking for. I had pad ka pow and that was also delicious. Super fresh flavor, and nice spice level. Definitely will be going there again. Very reasonable prices and they have a bar!

Bad experience.... To be clear, the food is great. I dined in alone for lunch at 12pm on a Tuesday. Ordered soup and the drunken noodles. When I received my check, I was charged for the dinner portion. When ordering, each selection was offered for lunch and dinner. I assumed since it was noon on a weekday, I would receive "Lunch". At no point did the server ask which I would prefer. When brought up when I received my check, the server said most people like the dinner portion because of the size vs. the lunch portion. They did not want to rectify the issue. I know restaurants are hurting but felt taken on this one. Not sure if I'll ever return...

Been here a few times and always satisfying. Service is friendly and timely, and each of our dishes have been tasty, well prepared, and as expected. Very nice selection of dishes, especially with the added sushi options. Still "fairly new" restaurant still working on their ambience, but a very nice relaxing place nonetheless.

This restaurant is OK. It's definitely not authentic asian and the food is subpar. The location is convenient but I wouldn't recommend it.

We had a very underwhelming, near disappointing, visit to Bluefish Grill several years ago and was…read morerecommended to give it a try again recently. Definitely wanted to go in with a clean slate, knowing how many things for a restaurant can change in three or four years. I have to downgrade to one star though based on this week's dinner. I really don't see where there's a quality of food, flavor, friendly service or atmosphere that doesn't register as a fail. We were dining with a few other families (the place holds about 8 or so tables max) and another guy I could tell totally loves this place - it's an understatement to say that I don't get it. I really don't. I honestly feel like Gordon Ramsey's "Kitchen Nightmares" needs to go in and explain to them everything they doing wrong - because where do you start... Everything we ordered was overcooked, or cooked incorrectly and was not delicious, much less impressive. Let's be specific - the fried calamari was heavily battered and over cooked, the octopus balls were overcooked on the outside and offered an overly hot unidentifiable soup on the inside, and the fish & chips were basically two overcooked large triangles of thin fish and thick breading so the experience was a crunchy, dry thin processed piece of fried something that, whether visibly or by flavor, had no real indication there was fish present inside the deep fried breaded triangle. Service is beyond blah, it's indifferent. I dont mind the small dive atmosphere whatsoever, but at that point there's actually nothing I can point out of pleasure, value or reward for going here. What a place. Not a single smile, no warm greeting or any sentiment that anyone's glad you're there. No time for you. Just tell me what you want. Despite being a tiny place it does not guarantee your table might be walked by a dozen times while youre obviously ready and waiting to order. It always strikes me when a place is slow to serve you or give you proper attention but quick to bring you your check. I'm glad some people like it enough to keep it in business, but I don't get it. All I see is room for improvement , by which I mean needs for improvement - everywhere. I wish I took pictures of our meal but I didn't want to denigrate or erode the time we were having with a friend of ours. Taking pics of this food would have been too obvious and I really wanted to focus on enjoying our company regardless of the fact that I'm definitely going out again tomorrow night to reset my palate and have a total do-over. *Update, we did head over to The Flying Pig the next night where we can always count on having a high-quality friendly experience - and great good. The next day was Saturday and we went for dinner at Penny Lane Pub, again where we could count on a delicious meal and a welcoming, friendly environment. At that point I had mostly forgotten the regret I had held over from the second and final time we'll ever give Bluefish Grill a shot. The owner's attitude, of saying "then why do you come back", rather than being curious about what they could do better tells it all. An owner who stubbornly asserts everything's perfect, it's the customer who's the problem I've seen before - and in the long term it doesn't bode well for the business.
