We got nearly all we needed here. They did not have provolone cheese (but neither did the other Aldi we went to in the area so maybe it was a supply issue... or everyone in the ROC loves Aldi provolone. Haha) Love the self checkout! We don't have that in Houston! Prices can't be beat!

Later in the evening, my gf said the fridge smelled funny. By morning, the fridge smelled really bad of spoiled meat. I placed it in a plastic bag and attempted to return after leaving work early on Wednesday. (I had a doctor appointment Tuesday afternoon an hour away and couldn't complete the return.) The customer support person was very courteous and said she needed a manager and called for the woman in the office behind her. She, too, was courteous but paused to say she wanted to get approval from the meat department because it was over $20. Note she made a face when she opened the bag regarding the smell. (Purchase price $20.48). A woman and a man can up, and both smelled the product. Then the woman proceeded to tell me she would not complete the return because I didn't call the store the day I purchased it. Then, she went on a second defensive path to avoid a return. This involved telling me that the product smelled fine and was fine when I purchased it. Really??? Shortly thereafter, she identified herself as an owner. After a few minutes she offered a refund but only via store credit. I have never had an issue with buying any products in this store. However, I will NEVER shop at this store again. This is NOT how you treat your customers if you want to stay in business.

My late father in law was a store owner back in the 50s, 60s & early 70s and cut all his own meat. He worked at Bliss's as a meat cutter in the early 90s. I remember him talking about how great the quality of meat Bliss's had. So, now we drive there to get all of our meat each week! It is still good quality, fresh & affordable!

They have a lotta nice products but you'll pay a premium for them. You can also return your Amazon purchases here to considering they are owned by Amazon now if you have a prime membership you can get a discount. They have plenty of parking.

Most importantly though, the restrooms were clearly marked. The food prices were way more affordable than i'd have thought. Pretty comparable to Wegmans or Tops. Out of the Last two remaining wholesale club stores in rochester..BJ's would be the second…read morebest...But there are definitely some great reasons to have a BJ's membership. First they accept coupons. Both BJ's and Manufacturer coupons, and you can use 1 manufacturer coupon and one BJ's coupon on 1 single item. So if you are really into savings..BJ's is the club where you are going to save the most. Especially when you have a coupon and a product also happens to be on sale(which I find happens often) Those savings really start to pile up. Keep in mind that these clubs sell almost all the same products you buy at any wholesale club(minus the house brand name products) Second They have a Deli where you can get cold-cuts for probably the best consistent price around..I'm talking domestic prosciutto where every deli in rochester sells it for 20 dollars a pound..BJ's sells it for 7.99lb. In My opinion that alone is enough for me to keep a membership. (I love prosciutto) And most of the other cold-cuts they sell do not go over 8 dollars a pound. Third they do not ask for your Membership ID when you enter the store which is a minor thing but it's nice. They also have 4 locations in rochester. Which makes it super convenient to live fairly close to one. Now for the bad part. First their bakery items have gone down hill since the 90s and early to mid 2000's when I used to go here. I guess for me it's not a big deal now as I don't really eat sweets anymore..But if you expect the bakery items to be as good as Costco or Sams Club..You might be disappointed. Sometime in 2010 or so they stopped baking their bakery goods in store..and had them shipped in and I really noticed the difference for the worse. Quality just isn't there anymore. They No longer have a food court(at east at this location) which could be a deal breaker for some..But in my opinion their food court was never very good. Even with these negatives I feel BJ's has enough positives to give it 4 stars.

Stood in line to pick up my prescription this evening at 7:55. Watched an employee finish her shift…read moreand leave and another come in. There was a woman chatting about schedules- asking people if they were off the following day. She finally came to wait on me and I explained that there was a product that I was unable to find despite searching for it. She said Aisle 18. Since there was NOONE behind me or waiting, I asked her if I could grab the product quickly so it could be rung up together. She said "no! We are very busy"... BUSY? No. I stood and waited and listened to you chatting- if you were so busy then why weren't you working rather than chatting about your weekend plans? Plus you couldn't be bothered to show me were the product was? Terrible service. I will be changing my pharmacy!
