Was immediately welcomed with a friendly smile and grabbed a seat at the bar. Ordered a Long Island Iced Tea and a Strawberry Honey Lemonade. Both drinks were prepared by my bartender/server Michelle and were perfectly made. Side note...her eyes are mesmerizing. Ordered a Clam Chowder, steamed mussels (in white wine sauce), and Bam Bam Shrimp. All three came out when appropriate and were absolutely delicious. I was a little hesitant about seafood so far from the shore, but every dish was incredible. Between Michelle and the other server, Chelsea, I couldn't have had a more entertaining meal. They both checked on me multiple times and made sure that everything came out well. I will definitely return!

Since I could not wait to try their kielbasa I also order a plain Kielbasa sandwich. You can add sauerkraut, and Polish mustard, if you like. The sandwich was packed with meat and only $8.00. One plausible though debatable explanation is the price difference between a 1/2 and a full grinder is a mere $2.50. In any case, our combo grinder was filled at my direction with a variety of cold cuts, lettuce, tomatoes, roasted peppers and provolone cheese. In fact, it was so filled that I could not finish my 1/2 causing me to package up enough leftover meat and cheese to serve as hors d'oeuvres for the following night's happy hour. The sole negative was the grinder was so generously filled that the roll burst at its seams before I could completely fill my belly.

Welcome to the great stuffed shrimp taste-off of 2021!!…read more In search of the best stuffed shrimp in the area to serve on Christmas Eve, I posted on various Facebook pages to solicit recommendations. Of course, I can't just trust strangers on Facebook, so we did what any self respecting Yelpers would do...we did a trial run of five spots over a two day period, ordering 4 stuffed shrimp from each. We sampled them plain, with lemon, butter, and cocktail sauce, critiquing the size, quality of the shrimp, taste and quality of the stuffing, and overall value for the price. With, of course, photos of both the raw starting point and the cooked final product. Gulf Shrimp was 4th in the line up, but came with numerous recommendations. Upon arrival, I was struck by the horrific rancid smell of decaying fish. Outside!! I mean I know it's a fish market, but are they throwing fish carcasses in the woods?? Upon walking in, the smell was even worse. I wanted to walk out, but we were committed. Now remember, we went to 5 fish spots in two days - none smelled anything like this. We aren't at the docks next to the fishing boats. It's in an industrial area off the highway, and there is absolutely no reason for it to smell like this. I already knew they only sold the stuffed shrimp frozen, which was a major con as I needed to cook it that night. 4 for $28, or $7 each. On the higher end of what we had paid. We decided to try 8 cooked cocktail shrimp as well, as they had some nice large ones. Their fresh seafood selection was extremely limited though. I'm not sure why...I've seen more seafood at a grocery seafood counter than at this dedicated fish market. We get it home, I have to thaw the stuffed shrimp. We decide to eat the cocktail shrimp while we wait. Of the 8, two were not properly cleaned (nasty!) so I had to do that myself. I'd be hard pressed to pay $24.99/lb for cooked/cleaned shrimp that I then have to inspect at home before serving to my guests. That was a huge miss. They were also a bit chewy. Stuffed shrimp was good in size, but the stuffing was extremely fishy to the point where my husband didn't finish his. He ate all the other shrimp in the taste off. I also was reluctant to believe they were cleaned properly after the cocktail shrimp experience. No amount of lemon, butter or cocktail sauce saved these stinkers for us. So in summary, smelly, expensive, mediocre quality. I'd skip Gulf Shrimp and try a different spot instead. We won't be back. Gulf Shrimp came in at #5 out of 5 in the great stuffed shrimp taste-off of 2021.

I bet you've seen their products with the distinctive red, green and gold logo a zillion times. They sell over 4,000 products to retail stores and restaurants! That's just about everything and anything you'd need for cooking a nice Italian meal. Some of the products I saw on their website include sauces, meats, seafood, poultry, pastas, canned and jarred everything, cheeses, gelatos and sorbets, even storage trays and containers. We were in the Pajer Superette (one of our favorite Italian delis) in Agawam a few days ago, and bought a 16-ounce jar of Napoli sliced jalapenos for $2.89. I opened that jar tonight and tossed a few slices on both my salad and a pizza we made at home using a crust we also bought at Pajer. The jalapenos were good - crisp with plenty of zip. I'd bet the mortgage this wasn't the first Napoli product we ever bought. But it was the first time I decided to see if they were listed on Yelp. Yes, they were.

The bread was pretty soaked. I think if they used more cheese as a barrier, this sandwich could've been better. The Sicilian is basically an eggplant Parmesan. I did not care for this in Parmesan however it is edible. The eggplant was sliced, extremely thin that you could barely taste it. Instead of using melted mozzarella, there was one hunk of fresh mozzarella on the sandwich. I did feel that the prices were pretty expensive however, I probably would try the vegetable sandwich again if I eat it in person and ask them to put extra provolone around the bread . A lot of the reviews people love it here so I might try some other sandwiches however I don't eat meat so these were the two sandwiches I was interested in.
