Our favorite local store! It is very clean, easy to navigate and has a wide range of foods including premade refrigerated dinners, to sushi, to a hot bar, and rotisserie chicken. They have an awesome bakery selection as well. The staff is always helpful and friendly and the owners are often around and willing to assist as well. I worked there for a period of time. Was lied to about an employment opportunity. That being said, the prepared foods are re-labeled when they hit the sell by date, lots of produce is rotten, and I saw conditions in the kitchen that were unacceptable, including cross contamination of cooked food and raw chicken as well as vegetarian foods handled in the same cooking area as meat. And this was not just acceptable to them it's part of the job description.... I never shopped there before I worked there because they had high prices and rotting food for sale, I won't go back after seeing the mismanaged food handling practices. I've been a chef for 25 years, it's the most mismanaged and sloppy kitchen I've been in. read more

This used to be a great neighborhood type store with good service. Been very disappointed the last few times I've been there. I was looking for a specific prepared meal that I've gotten in the past and was told to call ahead -and when I did the person who answered was very rude and not accommodating, so what was the point? I suspect Whole Foods will drive them out of business soon. read more

I am a regular in purchasing soup for lunch. and Tops had far and away the best soup around until today. I purchased a chicken with Orzo soup but no Orzo. any soup usually purchased here with chicken until today comes with natural pcs of white chicken. Today the pieces were small dark cubes the same as soup purchased in cans. the soup was extremely greasy in fact it was worse than any generic soup you buy in cans. i Will be hesitant about buying their soup in the future. read more

The butchers in the meat department go out of their way to help customers with their knowledge regarding cuts of meat and the best way to cook the item. I have never been more grateful to have their help. Also I have been going to Tops for at least 40 years for the best Holiday roasts. read more

I usually just pick up a cake that's already made, but this time I ordered a 10 or 12 inch 2 layer birthday cake by phone. I gave them 3 names to add and just said use fall colors. It was absolutely beautiful and so good! Normally we have cake left over, but this one was finished. I just ordered white cake with better cream-no fancy filling. It was ready when I came to get it. It was so beautiful, I'd post a picture if I knew how.Their cakes are delicious. read more

We just used their catering services for my sons wedding & they went above & beyond what we could've ever expected. Their prices are reasonable and the food was excellent. It was a great variety of options with something for everyone's food preferences. The staff was all so helpful, friendly and accommodating. in a pinch, this place has most everything you need for groceries so you won't have to drive a few miles to the new super big mainstream market across town. Top's is an IGA. This is what supermarkets used to be like, but this one has sushi and some other modern conveniences - but it really doesn't look like much has been updated in here - grocery flashback to the 1960s. .. i was looking for a box of Quisp, no luck .. also, parking here is not well planned - the lots is one-way and to exit you have to drive around back past the freezers and any delivery trucks and then onto a side road which leads back to the road you want to be on where you will wait at a traffic light. will they ever finish road construction here? read more

After watching grandson's ball game, we stopped here on the way home. Their prepared to go meals are amazing. We purchased three: Chicken Piccata with fresh vegetables and mashed potatoes, Stuffed Peppers, and Linguini with white sauce, clams and shrimp. All ingredients were fresh and perfectly done. This review is really for the sushi guys with the tiny counter just inside the front door. Best sushi in the county - and maybe further! I was very hesitant to buy some grocery store sushi - but these 2 men are the real deal. Everything we tried was fresh and delicious. Plus the chefs are so nice. We order catering every year for our family holiday party. They were very nice to accommodate a late order last year, and we ordered again this year. We got a veg plate, fruit tray, lasagna, chicken with sauces, salad and more. Last year our tri tip was seared, but not cooked through. We ended up cutting it into pieces and cooking it in the oven ourselves, which was fine but not ideal. The food quality is good and we will continue to order from them. We picked up our food in a big plastic warmer, which then needed to be returned within a few days, but kept the food nice and hot. read more

I visit this grocery store quite often despite the high prices, it's local and a quick in an out when you just need to pick up a few things. But this review is geared toward the manager, she is easily the rudest person I've never met. Almost every time I see her she is reprimanding an employee in front of customers, eye rolling, huffing and puffing. This grocery store has the best staff, always willing to go out of their way to help you. Yes, the store is smaller, but it manages to accommodate nearly every item you could ask for. All around, if you are looking to get purchase some groceries this store is a great place to go. To address the previous comments regarding the needed renovation, road construction and item which was unavailable, the store has improved significantly in recent years. The interior and exterior have been updated and upgraded leading to an even more improved shopping experience. The road construction is finished, though parking needs some improvement, there is not much that can be done due to current zoning. read more

I have been shopping in this independent grocery store for years, as have many of my friends and family members. It is VERY well managed, they have excellent meats and talented butchers as well as a huge variety of items. Everything you could want or need. This grocery store is very convenient and has started carrying more items for everyone, such as Gluten Free foods which members of my family need. However, in recent months, the cashiers who are working there have changed, and they are very rude. They are high school kids who look and act as though they could care less and as if each customer in their line is wasting their time. They don't say hello, they have personal conversations in front of customers, often bad-mouthing other employees, they have their phones out, and they do not even respond when customers say "thank you." To me, the convenience isn't worth the nasty, uncomfortable experience at checkout. I would suggest the owners look into this and require more from those who are supposed to be providing customer service. Yes, this place has been here forever, but that doesn't make this kind of behavior acceptable. I would think the owners, who undoubtedly take pride in their establishment, would expect the same from all of their employees. I have gone back several times in recent months and have had the same negative experience over and over again. I will now drive a little further to Stop and Shop when I need a fill-in during the week. read more
