Get the queso... it is extraordinarily good. It is a spicy queso topped with chorizo- very hearty, warm, and delicious. I had the Democrat taco (shredded beef) along with the shredded pork taco. Both were great. They are fairly traditional, with chopped onions and cilantro on your choice of corn or flour tortillas. My only complaint is that it took way too long to get my drink. They are supposed to bring it out to your table, but ai has to go remind the bartender that my order had not been filled. The food made up for it! read more

Absolutely atrocious service! The bartender (Jenn) needs a crash course in basic manners and customer service. Not only were they rude to me, but they treated their own employees with disrespect too. Management needs to address this immediately if they want to keep any customers. She was short and unprofessional with every person that approached her including myself. Unbelievably abhorrent and has no place being in a position having to do with speaking to customers until she cleans up her attitude. I always love torchys food- best is their queso and chips- they have delicious tacos of the months which are always worth checking out! I also enjoy the shrimp taco. They have an excellent kids meal!! Super good deal- I recommend the One with two fried chicken strips and two fried avocado. The main reason that torchys doesn't get 5 stars is because their curbside is kind of a mess- they regularly get things wrong or forget things in the bag. You MUST look every time you pick up here!!! I had food ordered delivered and of course the queso wasn't in the bag and torchys doesn't even taken phone calls right now so that was $6 just down the drain.... along with the fact that their queso was the thing I was craving the most... it was a sad sad day for a foodie. They always seem quite chaotic and it doesn't seem that they can really keep up with how busy they are- they definitely need a second location in town. I ordered the Democrat "barbacoa" and the Brushfire "jerk chicken". Daughter had the Mr. Orange "blackened salmon", wife and friend had beef fajita tacos, and we got an order of guacamole. Pros: 1. The tacos were very good. Everyone enjoyed theirs. Both of my tacos were good, but I preferred the barbacoa to the jerk chicken. Loved the diablo sauce. The jerk chicken was tasty and had a nice warmth, but did not remind me of Jamaican jerk chicken. 2. Guacamole and chips were very good. The guacamole has a little heat. Cons: 1. Service was slow. It took over 15 minutes to get our food. The restaurant was crowded, but not overly. They left our guacamole off, and we had to ask two different servers to get it. 2. I usually love Torchys and I was so excited to eat it but while eating my taco I kept getting the taste and whiff of vape juice (I don't vape but all my friends do). Torchy tacos I should say is more like a combination of the new school and old school tacos! College station is the home of the Texas A&M. I visited my sister and she brought me to different restaurants and one of it was Torchy Tacos. This place is like other taco place around here where you have to order first then when you get a number you can pick your table. This restaurant has a lot of sitting inside and outside! The restaurants have a great variety of alcohol and foods menu. I ordered the brushfire, baja shrimp and the crossroads. I forgot what my sister's order is. These taste so good! I was in love with the tacos, especially the brushfire. Their service is pretty nice, but it is a little bit too slow for a taco joint. And actually! Before I left college station, I went to this place again to get a breakfast taco! It taste good too, but I am not a fan of breakfast taco in general! Wow! My husband had mentioned this place when we went to Dallas for a work trip... I thought he was just hyping it up because his friend recommended it so it never really caught my attention. Today a colleague suggested this place to myself and someone else at work and since I wasn't driving I couldn't be picky lol. I decided to get the trailer park which had the option to "make it trashy" by taking out the lettuce and adding queso instead. I also opted for the Baja shrimp minus the onions. I WAS NOT DISAPPOINTED. I'm actually more disappointed at the fact that I've had multiple opportunities to try this place and never did! The trailer park was just amazing especially with the poblano sauce and queso. The Baja shrimp was also so good! I loved that my taco came with five or six good sized shrimp, to literally have one shrimp for every bite. Torchy's understands! Torchy's Tacos in College Station does not accommodate Special needs/disabled people. Went there for the first time ever today with my children. My youngest is Autistic. The line was out the door. Knew my child would not only be extremely frustrated by waiting in line but would have also bothered all in line. From parking lot I called Torchy's. The automated message said they were no longer taking phone orders and instructed to download app and order online. Did just that but kept getting message that this couldn't be ordered online at this location. Mind you we have been out on parking lot for going on an hour. I call Torchy's back, explained situation and was told app had crashed. And they have the best tacos I have ever eaten. I enjoyed the Alabama Shake and the Green Chile Pork tacos. The former was a little bit salty but both were delicious. Yum! Went there today for lunch with some friends and I see what the huge lines were all about. I had the fried avocado and the trailer park. Both were delicious but the avocado one was life changing. The place is cute and I like that they have adult beverages. She gave great service even though she was super busy. If you like spicy ( hot) food and cilantro in everything that is the place for you ( and not for me) First we ordered the chips and cheese, we asked to take the cilantro and the bravo sauce off ( bravo is the hottest sauce they have there) The guacamole that comes with the dish comes inside the cheese dip (?) and it comes with cilantro, of course If you are sensitive to spicy food don't order this cheese, it is HOT. For tacos,my husband ordered the one with fried Avocado ( I forgot the name, is the vegetarian option) and I ordered the imperial ( it's with fried mushrooms ) it came with some sort of mayo inside ( tasted like spicy mayo) and it was hot for me. Even if it wasn't spicy, the taste of the mayo there didn't match with the dish, but that is just my opinion. My husbands "mayo" came on the side, so his wasn't spicy and actually wasn't bad at all. 2 stars because every Torchy's experience I've had is normally good, but today I went to grab a quick lunch. I arrived and ordered at 11:15 when there were only around 6 guests in store. They brought my food out in a Togo bag, to which I just said "oh I'm sorry it was for here!" A new girl was taking my order so thought nothing of it, just a simple misunderstanding. They said it would be out shortly. 35 minutes go by and nothing. I went to the bartender (who was busy, but the line had gotten crazy at the counter and there were no food runners around.) to tell her and ask for help. She said she'd be happy to help, after she got a massive line their drinks. So I tried to find someone else and eventually found a food runner, who said she'd go check on it immediately. 10 minutes later, I've heard nothing, but I have to go back to work and forfeit my money I guess. I'm sure this is a fluke, but my main concern is the lack of urgency that my order got forgotten and there was no reconciliation. I had another great lunch here last Monday with my son. He ordered 2 chicken fajita tacos, chips and queso, & I had 1 fajita taco. We arrived way before regular lunch hours & there weren't many others yet. The parking lot is small, but we both got prime places. The queso arrived immediately & it was so good! The food started off good here a couple of years ago but now it's not good. The tacos used to be yummy and cooked to perfection but now they are messy and over cooked. Today there was a mix up with my "salsa" on my to go order and when I called the manager was rude and would not swap out the mistake even when I offered to drive up there.
