We went there today, and it reminded me why we haven't been back in quite a while. We ordered three tacos and a queso. The tacos arrived almost as soon as we were seated, but the queso never came. When the food runner was reminded about it, she simply said, "Okay." By the time we were about 90% finished with our meal, I asked the cashier if he could bring out the queso. Instead of just checking on it, he went to the manager. Both of them then questioned us repeatedly--asking for our order number and what size queso we ordered, even though they had already verified that we had paid for it. In the end, they refunded our money because we had already finished eating. It was disappointing that something as simple as a forgotten order of queso turned into an interrogation instead of a quick apology and resolution. My wife and I were craving some tacos and we found that place near home, we had to check it! The vipe was great and they have a bar and lots of tvs showing games! We had Queso & Chips as starter and we ordered the taco of the month which was the American, it was a good mix of sweet and salty taste and I liked it. The second one was chicken fajitas and it was so delicious too! If you want a typical chicken taco then you will like that one, Finally The Matador which is the smoked beef brisket, it was a little bit heavy and juicy so if you're not a real brisket lover, don't go for it. Great quick service taco shop with the BEST queso. It's a must-have item every time! This location has a great patio as well. Torchys has a great menu, but their rotating taco of the month is our favorite part. We enjoy all of the menu items at torchys - don't sleep on their refried beans and rice, a solid addition to any taco. The tacos are large, so most people only need 2 max. The margaritas are solid, and the lil nookie dessert is a perfect way to end the meal. You can't go wrong! read more

All Torchys Taco's are not created equal! I go to this one, at least once a week. I've been to the Flower Mound, Southlake, as well as the Valley Ranch (and other locations)... the one here on 121, at the edge of Grapevine, off Glade is truly the best. They are typically very busy, but still you get through the register very quickly. Typically, our queso arrives at our table, the same time we sit down. Also, it's amazing how clean and well-maintained this location is, given how busy they are! If you're not familiar with Torchys, they are a taco truck, gone physical location. They serve higher end tacos, that range from three dollars to eight dollars (typically around five dollars), depending on what you order. Excellent quality, fast service! They even have a kids meal, called the little wrecker. I have to dedicate a special paragraph to their queso! It's not cheap at $7.50, but it's worth every penny! Especially when served with their incredible, tasty, thin chips! The queso comes with a dollop of guacamole, and a small, small dab of their Diablo sauce. Shout out to the Diablo sauce, it's incredible, and has quite the bite! Additionally, they have a full-service bar with specialty drinks, which they're known for. We will certainly be back if not again, this week, likely next! If you haven't been here at all, or lately, it's a must try! read more

The "bartender" decided to ask me (a faithful "tipping" customer of at least 3 years) to put away my own tray last week after I sat there and enjoyed my lunch. Sitting at bar to eat is something that I'd done at least 2 other times with no problem. I guess he did not want me to sit there anymore if I was not going to order alcohol. HOW TACKY!!! Torchy's has already cut down on the amount of food that's provided per order. Yes, EVERYONE notices that there has been a drastic change from the 2 taco shells and a heaping amount of meat on a single taco to 1 taco shell and half the amount of meat on a single taco. NOW WE'RE REQUIRED TO PUT AWAY OUR OWN TRAYS? Perhaps only I was required because of my ethnicity...lol! Of course I was so hurt! I decided to tell the manager what happened and all he did was simply apologized, "I'm sorry for that". The atmosphere is good, but the food is overpriced for the quality. There are certain drinks you can only get during happy hour which makes no sense. Edit to add (since I can't reply): The bean and cheese tacos were watery, salty and the cheese wasn't melted. The asada tacos were saltless and minimal flavor, the salsa was basic and tasted more of tomato than any other flavor, and the margarita that had tajin on the rim had good spice, but the pour on the tequila was so heavy that's all you could taste. Love Torchy's, but the online ordering system is a mess I really love Torchy's Tacos and everyone at this location has always been great, but I'm honestly really disappointed with the online ordering system. I spent about 15 minutes trying to order around $150 worth of tacos for an event, and the website just would not work. It kept giving me error messages, wouldn't let me access my account, and even when I tried to check out as a guest, it still failed to load. Thinking it might just be the website, I downloaded the app -- but that didn't help either. I spent another 10 minutes trying to log in and got the same error messages over and over. After wasting about 30 minutes, I had to give up and go somewhere else, even though our group really wanted Torchy's. Please fix the website and app -- it's costing you business and frustrating loyal customers. I still love Torchy's food and staff, but the online system really needs some serious attention. read more

The wife and I stopped here for lunch since it was close to the theater. The place was very clean, and the lady at the counter graciously explained the ordering process to us since it was our first visit. I had a new meal "the Catfish taco", with refried beans and rice. The taco was really tasty, I loved the cabbage and seasoning on top, and the catfish was cooked and seasoned really well. I also had a swirled strawberry & mango margarita, and it was really tasty. Really enjoyed the shrimp and chorizo taco forgot the name but it has a Santa sticker. I'll say y'all got better at labeling the tacos but the photo stickers can be a bit confusing. We like to order a variety of random tacos and then the family gets confused between the labeled tacos and picture sticker ones. That's a bit time consuming opening and closing tacos. One last stop in the DFW before heading out. Had the basic breakfast tacos #1, #2 and #3. Basically scrambled egg and cheese with either bacon, chorizo or potatoes and topped with salsa roja. Let me just say...I wanted a taco before I started this experience with Torchys but after 30 minutes of bad customer service...I wouldn't eat a taco ever again...at least not from here. Here is how it went. I attempted to order using their local phone. It switched me to an IVR automated ordering system. It kept cliching and kept repeating what I was saying. Then would say I can't help you with that. I am not sure what happened. Then I asked the IVR for an operator and it sent me to a person. The person confirmed my order but put me on hold without saying anything. Then another person picked up and asked how she could help. I asked her if she had my order. She was clueless of my order. I told her that someone put me on hold without saying anything...she said "someone here?" I said yes....she said "ohhh"...frustrated because I was driving was almost there, I handed the phone to my girlfriend. My girlfriend said we would just handle it when we got there and ended the call. 20 seconds later a man called my cell from Torchys asking if he could help...She said we would just order in a minute. He said he could take my order again...AGAIN...She said no we are there. We went in and there were two women behind the counter assisting a group of people teying to decide what to order. Both of the ones I spoke to. They saw my frustrated look. The one that initially hung up on my told the group that her other partner would finish their order when They decided what to order and the initial women went to the back. She knew that was the one she hung up but refused to help us and just coward to the back. We left...certainly not wanting a taco...or to be treated in such an uncourteous manner. We were going to get something else but realized the place we wanted to go didn't exist or rather, it only existed online through Lazy Dog's... so we detoured and went to Torchy instead, and boy did we glad we picked this! We've been coming to this location every couple of weeks for the last few years. The service has gotten so much better over the last year! The team has done a lot and gotten much better. We've eaten inside a few times and had great service. Recently, the takeout orders have been spot on and consistent, which can't be said at many other places. Taco of the month is great 11 months/12. The chips were a bit too tough, and the queso was good, but they barely filled the bowl and it definitely wasn't worth the $8 we paid, it was at most worth $5.
