Came here for a group lunch while in town. Luckily we get 3 tables for 8 on a Sunday afternoon. The cashier was very helpful making suggestions for us out of towners. Can't come to Texas and not get brisket so I got the crossroads taco and got the taco of the month. The tacos were a good size and very flavorful. Loved the grilled chicken tacos and the chicken and mango. Ask for their hot sauce if you like heat, it has great flavor. The queso dip with chorizo was excellent and the chips are perfectly cooked. Stopped by here the other day cause I heard some buzz about this place from a few folks that I golf with. I used to live in San Antonio a long time ago, so when anyone tells me about great tacos, I always have that San Antonio expectation in the back of my tastebuds. If you've ever lived in San Antonio, then you know very well, that is a place to get the most authentic Mexican food. Forget Austin, that is where to get the most overrated, expensive taco truck cuisine type food. Let's get back to Torchy's, honestly a nice mellow vibe inside, friendly staff, very informative on the type of taco's that they served, plus the taco menu wasn't overwhelming with 30 different tacos. $5 a taco, which I thought was a tad steep for the size of taco we got, but nonetheless, very delicious. We ordered the Green Chile pork, and the Fried avocado tacos, and also the green chile queso and chips. I'll have to be honest, this wasn't bad at all, taco's weren't big, but to my surprise, it really hit the spot. The chips and queso were good, not the best, but was ok. I would say I'd go back for the green chile pork taco, very delicious. I'll skip the fried avocado taco next time. Not that it was bad, it was just ok, it would definitely be for the folks who wanted a lite taco, and to not get full on, and to breathe easy on the way home. They also have a bar to sit at, for those who like to unwind after work and enjoy a cocktail before ordering. All in all, not a bad spot to hang out and enjoy a taco. I wish I lived closer, but the hubs was in the area and hooked us up with some Crossroads brisket tacos, and if you love brisket these are a must try! They are pretty spicy so if you're a tender foot like me, well I have GERD I take mine sans the jalapeños and it's still delightful, and y'all, they have the best salsa, so good! The only downside is that it felt like it was a kids serving- it wasn't filling and the bowl was giant compared to the amount of food inside. A colleague of mine ordered the chips and cheese and I wish I would've ordered one for myself because it was delicious!!! The cheese- oh my goodness!! It's seemingly ALWAYS busy, so don't expect it to be ultra orderly in the refill center, but they're okay if you're not a stickler for that sort of thing. I can't say I'm a fan of the "bus your own table" thing, meaning take your basket back to the tiny-hole trash can. I don't mind being helpful, but it's not as thought-out as typical fastfood when you can dump it all into a wide can with a tray to do all in one trip. The self-basket-hole-by-hand technique is a bit "pft". That aside, their salads are actually particularly good, a good mix of stuff and pretty decent on the health points if you need to watch it. They have a really nice outdoor seating area and indoor seating. The tacos are delicious and the sauces are flavorful and spicy. The churroscoe taco was my favorite. I cannot overstate just how much we love Torchy's. We just moved to the DFW area from Hawaii and this place is way better than anything we could get on the islands. We have even started doing Taco Tuesday again! The menu is bit eclectic, but holy tamole the tacos are all delicious! I've tried about 75% of the menu so far, and I have enjoyed everything I've ordered thus far. My favorites have been the Crossroads and the Brushfire. The Ace of Spades is on the secret menu, and it easily rounds out my top three. Street corn, queso, and breakfast tacos are all things to get too. I think this is the third or fourth Torchy's location I've been to, and while this one now my closest, they have all been consistently great. All Torchys Taco's are not created equal! I love Torchys in general, however this store can be hit or miss... both on service as well as food quantity. I absolutely love their queso when it isn't runny... I like it thick! The guacamole is also outstanding, never gotten a bad serving of it. The chips are also always excellent! Love Diablo sauce, order it with my meal, but most of the time they forget to bring it out. I found the majority of the stores, on average, to be about a 4 to 4 1/2 stars... However this one, typically is not that good, as covered above. I would highly recommend Torchys in general, as being a great place! read more

On a trip in Dallas, so we ordered Door Dash Torchy's to our hotel and it did not dissapoint. I never go to TX without getting Torchy's! The food was prepared very quickly! Can't speak to the service at the actual restaurant as we did delivery. Even after delivery time, the tacos and queso were warm. The Green Chile Pork taco was outstanding - the carnitas were very tender and the poblano top on sauce was delicious. Many of my Texan friends say the Torchy's queso is the best (affordable and easy to obtain anywhere) queso in the state. The green chile queso was out of this world. Gratefully, I have folks in the Southlake area and we make it a priority to get some food whenever we're in town. First of all their queso is the best I have ever had in my life. I could have sat there eating my body weight in queso and never made it to my actual tacos, which were pretty good but the queso stole the show. My friend encouraged me to get the queso after I looked at her as if she was crazy because I'm always about my salsa but thanks to her and torchys I am a queso lover now. Tacos were large and they did not skimp on the eggs, meat, cheese avocado or the other toppings. Served hot and fresh with friendly service.
