    Fish Tacos

This casual spot is tucked into a strip mall by the Southlake High School. I found it in a search for local tacos and had bookmarked it. It seems that the place has a lot of regulars, which is good. Customer service was prompt. The food was good, which you can see in my pics. My fish tacos were well seasoned and stacked. The rice and beans were okay. Chips and salsa were almost $4, and were also okay. They do offer a salsa bar with a good variety of their homemade salsas, but the plastic containers for the salsa were super tiny, and the ladles for the salsa were big. I could see over-pouring into a container, and the excess salsa running down fingers right back into the salsa from whence it came . . . And from which someone else will repeat . . . All in all, not bad but not someplace I will go back to with intent.

This place does a pretty good business with the locals. I watched the Southlake high school football players each order bags of tacos for breakfast and it seemed like it wasn't their first rodeo at Austin Taco House. I got a couple of breakfast tacos togo that were good. The breakfast potatoes, eggs, sausage and bacon were tasty. I'll be buying some of these in bulk for a group soon.

Pay attention to the pricing! The menu reflects a basic taco, up charge for lettuce which was yellow, they call a "Gringo" Why not a different racial slur?? Is this the gringo way of eating a taco I suppose? Add cheese @$1.50, on top of all that is a 4% CC fee. The ground taco beef is very elementary school greasy and a slight upgrade from Taco Bell. The single bathroom has a chair in it, who is that for? Very dirty and gross! Don't be suckered by trying a mod place, this was a disgusting joke..

I love this place and it deserves 5 stars. The food was delicious and tasted very fresh, the salsa was one of the best I have ever had and the service was wonderful. The 2 lady's that helped us today were quick and incredibly sweet. The ambiance of the restaurant was nice and calming. It was also clean. I highly recommend going on a Monday to get the birria taco special it is amazing

Carnitas tacos. We also enjoy the steak tacos.

The tamales are very good. The best I've had in the area. They have them from Halloween until January.

One of our favorite places to eat! Today we had lunch when we usually do breakfast. We started with the fresh guacamole, chips and two types of salsa. Delicious! We then enjoyed tostadas, pollo ranchero and fish tacos. The service was excellent and the people here are just great people! Go, now!

Disaster. Went to Austin Taco House last weekend for a breakfast taco fix. I've never been there and the location is convenient so it was a good day to try something new. Ordered several tacos to go with no egg, and a side of potatoes. Now, I've been living, eating and ordering food for a long time and I have ALWAYS been allergic to eggs and this allergy is way before having a food allergy was considered cool. I always relay that I have an egg allergy so please remove all egg but this is the first time I was charged more for a no egg option. I rationalized that maybe the portion sizes are premixed so no egg is more work.... Ok, paying more for less but sure. I wasn't upset about the up charge, until I got home to the egg filled tacos. Literally could not eat a thing and they forgot my side of potatoes to boot. I had plans that morning and no time to drive back to complain, time waisted, gas waisted, food wasted, money wasted. Business needs improve quality control and reconsider up charging patrons for less ingredients.

Barbacoa, carnitas and chorizo taco with rice and beans

I was in the area and decide to try this place. It's pretty small with only one server and one cook from what it looked like. They have the usual dishes you would expect breakfast tacos, tacos, migas etc. I decided to try their tacos, they don't make the tortillas at the restaurant so you went with flour tacos and a barbacoa, carnitas and chorizo. I'm used to bold flavors at the tacquerias in Denton so I thought these were bland. I liked the chorizo the best of the three I had. The beans and rice was bland to me as well. The service was great and they were very friendly. It's possible that tacos need to be more bland to be popular with the people in the area.

I'm always in the search for some good authentic Mexican food here in Fort Worth and i will say this place definitely hits the spot. As some one who grew up eating authentic Mexican food, I really enjoy places that remind me of my childhood and home. If you are in the Fort Worth/ Southlake area, please do yourselves a favor and stop here! I'm definitely coming back here, this is going to be a place I come to regularly The staff was very friendly and fast! I had their horchata which was homemade as well as their salsas in their salsa bar. All the salsas are homemade. My husband and I enjoyed the food a lot. Everything was delicious, from the chips, to the food and even the salsas!

Was driving between doctors appointments this morning and realized I hadn't had breakfast yet. Found this hidden gem and sooooooo glad I did. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. The place was clean and basic which I like. Some basic decor on the walls and a chalkboard for the daily specials. I ate 2 of the Southlake tacos. They were pretty amazing!!! I grew up in San Antonio so I consider myself to have pretty high standards when it comes to Mexican food and breakfast tacos!!!! Really want to come back for lunch sometime soon!!!!!

    Simple but effective.

I hold nothing against Fuzzy's and Torchy's - but those guys cannot hold a CANDLE to ATH. I'm Chinese Hawaiian, from Hawaii, but even I can tell these guys are the real deal. At 1030am, the place was packed. I think I was the ONLY person in the restaurant that did not speak fluent Spanish. You have to wait for a minute or two more, for your food. Do it. It's well worth the fresh, hot, rich taste and texture of food truck tacos done right, consumed while you're sitting in the clean restaurant's a/c. I'm Southlakey enough to prefer that to the sounds and smells of the streets in TJ in the blazing hot sun. If you like that experience, more power to you - but eating these tacos will take you there, for a moment. Sam (waitress) and the cook in the kitchen can handle a full restaurant easily - both friendly, warm, efficient pros at what they do. A+ from me, for this super joint.

Other than that, everything was great. One thing I really appreciated was how quickly the food came out and nobody likes waiting forever when they're hungry! My friend ordered pancakes along with another breakfast item, and she enjoyed her meal as well. Overall, it was a nice brunch spot with great service, good food, and a comfortable atmosphere. Unlike other menu items, the french toast entrees do not come with eggs or sides like hash browns. Unexpectedly, I was asked about my side preference and how I wanted my eggs cooked. When I asked if the entree came with eggs, she replied, "If it comes with eggs, how would you like them?" After pointing to the menu, we both confirmed nothing else was included. That was not the only oddity. After taking my order, I never saw her again. A different waitress served my food and handed me the check. As I was not too hungry, the Sissy's Stuffed French Toast was the right portion. Not to dilute the strawberry flavor, I declined adding any syrup. Besides the french toast did not require the sweetness from the syrup; the challah bread, purée topping, and cream cheese spread each provided some sweetness.

I initially gave this place 5 stars, but after returning recently for the first time in a long while, the experience was extremely disappointing. We came in, got seated, and a guy named Omar handed us the menus. I asked if we could get two hot waters with lemon, and in a very dismissive tone he replied, "Anna will get that," then just walked away. We then saw Anna walk past our empty table three or four times before finally coming over with two glasses of cold water, which we never asked for. I told her we would've requested hot water with lemon, but she barely even acknowledged us. She took the cold water away, turned around, and later came back simply setting the hot water down without a word. When we were looking at the menu, my husband asked what the side options were. She replied in an annoyed tone, "It's right there," while pointing at the menu. My husband then asked if she could just tell us, which she eventually did. From start to finish, there was no smile, no pleasantries, no sense that she even wanted to serve us. Mind you, this was 9 AM on a Monday, and there were only three occupied tables in the restaurant, including ours. When the food arrived, one of the plates had dirt, a dead bug, or something similar on it. We pointed it out, and instead of apologizing, she took the plate away, came back, denied it was a bug, and still seemed visibly irritated. Later, I asked for extra napkins. She returned and aggressively dropped them on the edge of the table without even looking at us before walking away. Throughout the entire meal, she passed by our table several more times and never once checked on us. We left feeling dismayed, disappointed, and honestly feeling like the service did not deserve a tip--so we didn't. This used to be one of our go-to spots after church on Sundays, but unfortunately, that will no longer be the case. Suffice it to say, we will not be returning.
