TR has become one of my favorite designers for short sleeve, button-up shirts. Pricey, yes, but the patterns are very unique and some very striking. This store is located in a small row of shops across the street from International Marketplace on Kalakaua Ave. Compared to the branches in Ala Moana & Wailea, this one is bigger and less cluttered. The shirts were easy to browse through as they weren't hidden behind one another like in the aforementioned locales. Service was welcoming and not intrusive. While I didn't get anything for my fourth purchase (I was being budget-conscious as we were on vacay) I do have my eye on some new colors to add to my collection. read more

I like this store because I was looking for a 70th birthday gift, a Hawaiian men's shirt, and this store's products are still sewn in Hawaii. How rare is that? The design of their shirts is very appealing and a relaxed fit for wearing. Their prices may be more than some other shops but the quality explains why. Tori Richard is a Hawaiian-based clothing brand known for their unique print "resort wear". We stopped in one evening because we were drawn in by the fun prints. The store was larger than we expected and they had many different options for both men and women. The sales associate who greeted us was friendly enough and helped us complete our purchase. This store is fairly expensive but what can you expect when shopping in Waikiki? There is a sale rack towards the back of the store for both men and women. I love this brand. Every shirt I've bought (10+) has been excellent in quality, and fits well. I can not say the same for their shorts, and pants. I've bought between 7-8 pairs, and every single pair has ripped wide open within 6 weeks of purchase. Just a heads up to anyone looking. The shirts are great! Avoid purchasing shorts, and pants. Apparently, this is Hawaii's flagship tori Richard store. Located in Waikiki, it's a perfect place for tourists to get "local" Hawaiian shirts. You can buy the touristy Aloha shirts from quite a few places in Waikiki, probably even from the abc stores, but tori Richard sells the Aloha shirts that locals wear to work. Legit. The prints are a little more subtle and classy than the big hibiscus prints or surfboard prints that tourists like to wear. This is a nicely renovated store. It's clean and bright and they have a lot of merch to choose from. They have Aloha shirts in both short sleeve and long sleeve, socks and dresses. Unfortunately, if you can't find your size in a particular item, they will charge for shipping it to you, though. Tori Richard is pretty expensive, so you will be paying upwards of $50 for a shirt, but it's high quality and a good brand. There is even a small sale section in the back. Personally, I'd rather save a few bucks by finding tori Richard items at Nordstrom Rack, but that's just me :) read more

Great shopping experience here. Top shelf Hawaiian wear much of which is made in Hawaii proper! Classic patterns and up to date styles make this a great place to shop. I am a big fan of Tori Richard. Unlike other brands of Aloha Shirts they don't scream out tourist souvenir. Most of these will sit in the closet until the owner returns to Hawaii or they donate them. Just a simple fact. Tori Richard is a different kind of Aloha Shirt. The designs are more hip and subtle and can be worn stylishly in places other than Hawaii. The quality of the cotton lawn is excellent and they are made in Honolulu, not China (a big plus for me). The buttons appear to be mother of pearl but I think they are plastic which is a bit of a drag. Caveat: they do have the goofy types available, albeit in good quality. But I would recommend the more subtle styles if you want to use them back home and not look like a jerk. The staff at this new location are very attentive and friendly. There is one lady who helped me who was an excellent saleswoman. The store itself is elegant and hip with a vintage MG in the middle of it. This is not your typical tacky tourist shop and it shows. The shirts price out at $89, which I thought was fair for the quality. But at that price chose wisely as you do want something you can use when you get home. They also sell a particularly nice type of polo shirt which had very unique detailing. My wife liked the woman's purses and we ultimately bought one as a gift. I usually buy two Tori shirts when I am in Hawaii and I really like them and use them during the summer when I get home. Tip: They have a selection of sale shirts which they don't put out and frankly hide unless you ask. Make sure you ask whether they have any sale shirts and they will happily show them to you. Don't expect to see a sign. read more
