This place is amazing! I recently moved to San Jose, California and was hoping to find ramen as good as this and it doesn't even come close! I will be coming here every time I visit Minnesota. Literally the best ramen I've ever had. The ingredients are fresh and the culinary artistry that is put into the preparation of the ramen is creative and out of this world for your palate! We were ecstatic when we head the news that Tori was moving into our neighborhood and had been waiting months for it to finally open. The space was incredible, I had been in there a few times while a different restaurant was there and the difference was night and day. Wonderful spot that's serves amazing ramen. I had the dramen and the depth of flavor in the broth was incredible, it had all sorts of wonderful aromatic flavors going on. The broth was also rich and creamy, just delicious. The noodles had a nice bite to them and soaked up the flavor of the broth well. The worst dining experience in awhile. The food, the service and the atmosphere have all Significantly declined from previous visits. WhT I loved about this place was the incredible broth which soothed my soul. What we got in both dishes was flavored water, not broth. While they tried to improve the broth with add ins, there is no substitute for a slow simmering texture and flavor. The previous bowels also contained amazing noodles which were homemade, clearly the mechanical machines and big box touched these noodles. My hope is that this team finds the old magic... until then it is a firm pass on coming back! read more

It was... um... okay. Went on a colder night in December and not sure if the temperature of the air had anything to do with it (cooling the bowls as they sit) or if the pre-made broth was not boiling when they served up the ramen- but the bowl that was served was slightly above room temperature. Couldn't get past the temp to determine if the flavor was really good or not... I think it was. I thought it was just mine, but found out that the other bowl at my table was just as "cold". I've had some ramen in my life and it did not pass the temperature test. (This could pose a food safety issue) A few thing definitely went wrong. Not sure if the bowl sat at the expo station for too long? Also, had the server checked in after the first few bites- they would have known that we would have wanted it heated up. I was able to get most of it down, my date on the other hand, had two bites and was done. We ended up going somewhere else to finish her dinner. The server was nice about it and apologized when he gave us the check asking us then how everything was, but did nothing or was not empowered to do anything about it. He did mention that they keep the soup at a 100 degrees. (Perhaps that's the issue?) I would recommend: -Keep your soup base hot (above the danger zone, if not, near boiling) -Keep your soup bowls warm (especially during winter months or preheat them with boiling water before serving your food) -Have food runners or everyone runs food out to one another's tables so the food doesn't sit out (hot food hot; cold food cold) -Do a one minute or first bite check-in -Make sure your first timers have a great experience Otherwise, they'll likely not come back because they will feel like they are rolling the dice and potentially going to waste time and money. Just some advice and suggestion. Take it or leave it. read more

Came here while visiting family and the service was not great. There were only a couple other people in the restaurant and the waitor seemed preoccupied. The food was good, it was seasoned well and I love that they had so many vegan options. The ambiance was interesting as well, it was so dark I could barely read the menu hah. I really wanted the food to be good because the ambiance is great! Although it came out quickly, the food was a miss. We got the Shoyu ramen which just tasted like chicken broth and the Miso ramen which did not taste like miso. Both were extremely lacking in flavor, as if they had been diluted with water. The price may have been worth it if it was delicious, but for what you get, $17-$22 for this ramen is a bit overpriced. Disappointing but maybe their other food is better! read more

My husband and I happened upon this restaurant serendipitously. We had just gotten in to town for the long weekend, staying in a nearby AirBNB, and we walked in to Tori around midnight looking for a drink. We were thrilled when we realized they were also serving food. We ordered the Korean cucumber salad and the Com Saw Mi Da, a spicy ramen. Wow. The flavors were bold, rich, and fresh. Both dishes were delicious. On top of the excellent food, the servers were friendly and attentive, and the vibe was relaxed and cool. We especially loved the hip hop mixes the in-house DJ was spinning. I don't think we could have picked a better spot if we had planned in advance! read more

Ohhhhhh yum! What a gem. We are usually disappointed when we try a new ramen place, so I didn't dare get my hopes up too high. They are doing a great job with distanced dining if you choose to eat inside. Also have some cute outdoor seating or take yours home from the walk-up window. Our Korean ramen was so delicious and nuanced. The presentation was stunning. They also have beer, wine, and an interesting cocktail menu. Really, what's not to like about this place? I was excited to to get back here since I just found out that there was a Tori in St.Paul again. I used to go to the old location and really liked the food and the service. The ramen is still good, my rating is lower because we had a server who was slightly rude. There were two servers at the time, one who was very engaging to customers, and ours, who seemed ok at first, if not aloof. She would say her piece, but would walk away after she was done, without asking us if we had any questions or further orders. She would continue walking away even WHILE we were talking to her. This was at 5PM on a Saturday, where there were only 2 tables of customers, and 2 people at the bar, so I'm not sure if she had more responsibilities at the bar/kitchen that she had to take care of. I loved Tori Ramen's old location. Loved it. It was a treat every time I ate there. Sorta got to know some of the staff. After the fire in the old location I stood in line for almost an hour to buy several (delicious) ramen kits to help them out. When they closed I was sad and when they reopened in the old Chris and Rob's location I was so excited. With the shadow of COVID-19 I made sure to be a patron to support them in their new location. And every. Single. Time. The staff have nasty. I kept waiting to write an updated review until I had a good experience but after three tries I'm done waiting. Most recent trip is typical. Ordered to pick up at 5:50. The text I get says "your order will be ready at 5:50". Show up at 5:55 and get an eye roll. "Did you get a text that your food is ready?" I had not, but the message said it would be ready at 5:50, and I ordered a couple of hours ago. "That time is just an estimate." Said with exasperation, even though I ordered and set the time two hours ago? "It's gonna be a few minutes," and then they walk away. I'm clearly wasting their time and couldn't be more of a bother. 20 minutes later I walk back up to the window, watch the staff person walk away from an interaction with a customer, go barehand some food without washing their hands, see me at the window, ignore me for several minutes except to shout - "your food is ready, I'll get to you in a minute". (Note, I did not receive a text that my food was ready.) So food was 30+ minutes late and somehow the reason is me, and the person working could care a less that I was waiting or that it was massively late. No sorry for the wait. No thank you for your order. Nothing. Handed me my order, walked back to the kitchen and started bare-handing food again without washing her hands. You've broken my heart, Tori. I was a HUGE fan. We had a crazy experience at Tori a few weeks ago! We walked in to the beautiful, calming atmosphere and were met with a kind waitress who informed us that their head chef had been in a car accident and was unsure when he would arrive, telling us we should consider eating elsewhere if we did not want to wait. After some deliberation, we decided to stay and boy, are we glad we did. The waitress was extremely apologetic and attentive, and made us the only dish available as everything had yet to be prepped fresh by the head chef. Korean pickles are a must have - spicy yet complex. We also ordered a cocktail, a bloody mary, also delicious - and also spicy. At last, the chef arrived, safe and sound, and our already taken order, came out quickly. Two giant bowls of fresh ramen arrived in front of us. To say this was the best ramen I have ever eaten is an understatement. One was a rotating dish - I forget the name, ramen with a strong peanut flavor. The sense of umami was perfectly whelming. The second - the miso. Precisely perfect. The chicken? Never had better, it melted like butter. The broth? Perfectly seasoned. Needless to say, we left happy, full, and with a large to-go box for lunch. Thank you tori and to the chef, sorry about your car but the quality of your ramen was no accident. read more

You have to look for it off of W 7th, but worth it. Old dining car so cool and unique setting. A little pricey but delicious take on ramen and great drinks made by Jake. Had the Shoyu Fire and it was fire! Not for the faint of stomach. Spicy, yet flavorful broth. Tasty, homemade noodles and the right amount of veggies and meat. Wife had Dra(MN) which is a combo of 3 other bowls. I asked how it was and her response was, " It was delicious. I would live off it." I had been craving ramen since my trip to Toronto last November, so I was extremely excited when I saw Tori was re-opening in Minnesota. I had only been to the original Tori Ramen once but I have frequented the new place a ton since they opened. I highly recommend the Korean Egg Drop or Dramen, both of which are phenomenal. I intend to try some more of the delicious flavors of ramen in the future. Definitely stop in and support them during this pandemic so they will continue to make delicious ramen for years and years :). read more

Delicious! Had the Shoyu ramen, broth was rich and the noodles were fresh! Interesting ramen combos, on a quick trip from Chicago and we always look for the best ramen places in town and this did not disappoint. They have a walk up order window, are doing takeout and there is also some outdoor seating on a sidewalk on the non busy street side which we took advantage of so. Our first experience, had gone here a cold December night. My gal and I split a soup. We liked it then. 4stars. The second time not so much. We split another soup again. The problem they have. They serve you this soup in a big clay pot. Well the clay pot chills your soup down. One waitress had a belly shirt on. The property is gross and dirty. Not impressed. read more

The food was very nice, but the service was not good. When I got there, there was no one in the whole place, and I ordered immediately as two other parties were coming in. Pretty soon, there were two groups indoors and one couple outside. They all had their food, and I still had nothing after almost a half hour. I told the wait staff I thought my order had been forgotten, and they said they were still short staffed. I understand that, but did not get why the parties who came in after me were served well before I was. I felt discriminated against. read more
