The decor is very smart, black and white art deco-inspired, which has really cheered up the site which always appeared rather dark in the past. Sabroso caters for a more sophisticated clientele and should be very popular with the more conservative Holland Park set. Back to breakfast, though, which was great albeit not particularly Spanish. They offer a choice of pastries and cooked options. I have never been given the choice of half an English breakfast before and just couldn't resist I'm scared to imagine what size the full portion would have been as the half was very generous and good value at £4.95. A vegetarian alternative is also available (full size only), as well as the usual egg-based dishes. Sabroso offers a soothing alternative to the aforementioned cafes which are dominated by yummy mummies and their offspring at this time of day. The service was particularly friendly, and I will try and find an excuse to visit again soon.

The menu changes on a regular basis this is one of the reasons you have to come back for more, and the other is to taste all the cheeses (about 20) it costs £5.95 for 3 cheeses of our choice, crackers and bread. The manager here was incredibly kind and managed to seat me between reservations anyway, which I truly appreciated. Unfortunately, I didn't quite finish my meal in time before the next party arrived, but instead of rushing me, they graciously moved me to the bar so I could enjoy my dessert. What really struck me was the atmosphere. While I was sitting there, several people popped in just to say hello to the staff, which speaks volumes about how welcoming and family-esque this place feels. Hands down some of the best wait staff I've experienced. The food was fantastic. I had the ham croquettes, white wine, and churros with chocolate and having just been in Barcelona recently, I can honestly say this was the closest I've found to authentic tapas in London. I'll absolutely be back the next time I'm in London. A gem of a place with heart, hospitality, and incredible food.

The paellas are also fantastic and proper sharing food for a romantic dinner or date! Star of the night was our lovely server, who put up with the endless musical-chairs action to get people what they ordered (mind you I didn't participate in that revelry; I kept my alleged rightful place at table's head, people can come to me). But the rest of the group swapped like it was speed-dating day. Since we were "private dining" the menu was a little smaller, but still had plenty of choices. The salmon was light, excellent, flavorful. Others enjoyed the Ragu and Salsiccia, and even the Vegana looked tasty. I smartly saved room for dessert (mine and a friends since that's how I roll). Actually somebody ordered a cheesecake and vanished so I added some of that to the list after polishing off my "selection of ice creams" (yes plural is always better with ice cream.
