My experience with Canada Vein Clinics (Toronto location) was extremely disappointing and stressful. From my first consultation through multiple procedures and follow-ups, I felt that what was promised did not match what I actually experienced. A procedure that was described as painless was, for me, extremely painful. Over time, my symptoms worsened rather than improved, despite repeated reassurances. I was advised to undergo additional procedures without feeling that all options or risks were clearly explained. Communication was poor, including long delays and confusion around something as basic as my compression stocking prescription. One scheduled procedure was cancelled due to an error during needle insertion, which resulted in months of additional waiting and disruption. I continue to experience numbness, tingling, pressure, and discomfort in my leg, even after multiple vein closures, despite being told these symptoms would resolve. Given the financial cost, along with the physical and emotional toll, I do not feel I received the level of care or coordination that was promised. I've cancelled all future appointments and am seeking a second medical opinion. I strongly encourage anyone considering treatment here to ask very detailed questions, seek another opinion, and make sure you fully understand the risks and possible outcomes before proceeding.

In the past month I have been told that because they forgot to charge me with something (even though I double checked before I left) that I would have to come back in and pay. They called my phone repeatedly, but every time I missed it and would call back, nobody would answer. I offered to pay during my next appointment, but apparently that was unacceptable. I told them there way no way I was driving in to pay because I was on some pretty heavy pain killers and can't walk or drive. Eventually, after arguing with them they attempted to run my credit card over the phone, it worked even though she was adamant it wouldn't work, low and behold it went through. Second time, basically the same thing, but now all of a sudden giving payment info over the phone doesn't go through. There's no concern, and it's always "you need to come in". No, you need to stop making mistakes and pushing me to fix them, especially because there's not really anywhere to park. There's a side street, but no guarantee it has somewhere open. I'm so frustrated with the receptionists I'm considering looking for another doctor. Too bad, Dr. Is the best.

They had two, recently, leave who were very competent, polite, and endearing workers who were good about their work and took it seriously, they didn't treat it as the in between work it was until they landed whichever medical reception job it was they wanted, or technician, etc. The current reception (as of the first week of August 2018) is disorganized and uninformative. I gave them all the information required of the patient the doctor was to be seeing, without being told the full scope of the process and that the patient could wind up not being seen at all due to the circumstances at hand. I wouldn't have brought this person along with me had I known this was a possibility, because I would have known the possibility would have been a reality and told this person to not bother right now - they are someone who just doesn't have $65 laying around so they can see a family doctor. It was very frustrating for me, as well, because I am not kin to this patient and the reception kept coming to me for information and talking to me and COMPLAINING to me about the situation as if I knew of and had control over what was going on. They were in breach of so many confidentiality agreements by speaking to me on all of these matters and yet this receptionist continued to berate me on the subject as I waited to go in for MY OWN doctor's appointment. Do not go to this clinic for walk-in purposes. Only go if your general practitioner is located here. Otherwise you're playing a game of Russian Roulette on what the reception is going to be like and who it's going to be and how they're going to (mis)treat you during your, hopefully, brief visit. There is a computer monitor showing the patients and approximate wait time, including anyone with an appointment; there was one patient scheduled at 08:15. There are 4 cubicles. Cubicle 4 has a door that closes and has a medical bed. I was asked to go into cubicle 4 at 08:24. The technician started at 08:29. I finished at 08:32. I was told that Saturdays are their busiest day but starting at 10:00. I'm glad I came early. There were three technicians, one of whom handled the reception. There is a fourth person who seems to only do administration. The lab is wheelchair accessible.There is no free WiFi. There is one gender-neutral washroom, which is wheelchair accessible. I don't understand why people complain about the front desk staff not being friendly chatty etc... they are no there to be your BFFs, they are there to do their jobs... If you want to chit chat, go find yourself some friends! I think they are very efficient and they do their jobs well. Remember that along with checking you in, they are also answering the phone and email and a bunch of other things, so have some patience. For a downtown walk -in, the wait time to see a doctor is very fast. Doctors are great and will take time to listen to your issues. Now with COVID, you have the opportunity to send an email to have a doctor call you back and a doctor calls back within one hour! They can diagnose over the phone and even send emailed prescriptions to your local pharmacy. I really have nothing bad to say about this doctor's office and I truly think it's the best one in Toronto!!

Before anything, let me be fully clear, Doctors/ Physicians in the clinic are amazing, I am with my family doctor from a long time, however the admin team has been a nightmare. I underwent surgery in March 2026, which lead me to be bed ridden for recovery till May 2026. I lost my job, my OSAP went into overpayment, I am under extreme financial hardship and I was attacked racially on the streets of Toronto. I was recovering, hence could not make it to the appointments, when asked about it, I was told about "policies" and "fees" I must pay before I see my doctor. I gently asked to waive it OR allow me to delay the payment till I am capable of giving it / do it in instalments. It was relayed to my doctor as I am asking to waive fees and I was informed it cannot be done. The email had issues lines up, I was looking to get my doc to fill in some forms, insurance/ hardship related, I was told how much that would "COST". I had to leave it on the side. I received an email saying I am no more on ROSTER because I missed appointments! I was genuinely taken aback. My psychiatrist had stopped the practice, so my files was being transferred to family doctor. Admin team at UHN did it, honestly, multiple times. It never reached my doctor. During my current hard time, facing depression, anxiety, adhd and an attack because I am a different race, with no money, poor credit fighting to get a job, I started overcoming my issues. I asked again for an appointment, because UHN confirmed that I was still with this clinic, they replied with "policy rules", "admin fees"! I have an entire email chain! The admin from UHN helped me with getting the records, and I PERSONALLY SENT THEM! My doctor understandably could not read everything because there were more than 200 visits to be read! So from whatever time I was a patient of this clinic, UHN did send the records, and they NEVER reached my doctor, until I had to find a way to provide it to them! Finally after asking for an appointment I finally got one last week, I finally saw my doctor and we had a plan, from the conversation I noticed he was relayed with selective information, and when he said he supports the admin team, I reassured him I understand policies and why you are supporting them, however, my MAIN CONCERNS have not reached you! Me and my doctor had a plan, I requested for one of my forms to be signed on Friday, according to clinic "policy" I was late with the email so they were going to answer me next business day. Monday has passed by, Tuesday is almost coming to an end, and I am ghosted yet again! It is extremely hard not to take this personally, I have been clarifying asking giving feedbacks in a real positive light whenever possible. BUT THE ADMIN TEAM HAS ABSOLUTELY NO EMPATHY! WORST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE DURING MY OWN ROCK BOTTOM! I have a steady rapport with my doctor, so I cannot even go anywhere else, but to get to him, THIS HUGE HURDLE is just an impossible task! And get it right, they are VERY RUDE with their responses too! I am extremely disappointed! Isnt this the care team I can rely on when I need support? Apparently not! Very very displeased with the EXPERIENCE!!!!! I wish I could give NO star or a half STAR, and again, THE DOCTORS ARE GENUINELY GREAT! Also, I myself am an internationally trained DENTIST with 5 years of experience, now pursuing healthcare research! Never in my life I would have imagined a team who cares nothing about the people in need!
