It becomes a different atmosphere when milk tea becomes a closely studied object that the flavors really start to brew in more balanced flavor profiles and now you truly see why the barista is staring intensely asking if your drink is to your satisfaction. Because if the drink is not good, then the art is not good. They didn't actually do that but these drinks felt close to that energy. It's an understatement to say that this cafe is Japandi style because it's very HEAVILY Japandi style that every little part of the decor feels like some antique artifact. Did I mention this is a milk tea spot? The parking entrance is a little steep to say the least, but thankfully you're greeted with a wide parking lot once your car actually faces down to the proper aspect after a practical 60 degree incline. They do use a Yelp waitlist which actually manages their wait system. Considering the space, only a certain amount of people are allowed inside. It also accurately estimates the wait time and wait list! Remember my initial remark that this is literally art for these guys? They don't play around. Sweetness level, ice level, preferred taste profiles, how the toppings affect the drink. I don't know what type of training these baristas go through but did you guys go to a university for this specifically? Is this Toro Tea university? If that's the case, I can understand the high tuition prices hitting. Yes, this is going to be above your usual milk tea prices especially given the sizes that they offer. However, just remember that the drink searching for you is here to be found among the variety of drinks from fruit teas, milk teas and even cocktails? Crazy. What's crazier is how many times I told myself I wouldn't come back here because of the drink prices. Somehow I got dragged into this world of what milk tea is supposed to be and my list generated from most favorite to least; Mulberry Oolong (fruity and berry berry tasteful), Popcorn Milk Tea with Brown Sugar Tapioca Mochi (popcorn? yes, and it makes sense funny enough. Nutty like all their teas and very subtle in taste), Misty Oolong with Tapioca Mochi (now who discovered this?? the mochi is insane with the oolong flavors) and finally Matcha Einspanner (matcha on matcha can never go wrong). I really like this place! We came on a Saturday right when they opened and was one of the first in line. At 11:30, the line wasn't too bad yet since I heard the line can get up to two hours with the Yelp check in. We got 3 drinks (first 3 on the menu): -Popcorn MT: less sweet. My favorite!! I know it sounds weird but the drink was so good. I finished it in the car before we got home -Barley iced tea: less sweet. It's very nutty. My husband loved it. I thought it was good. -Osmanthus citrus refresher: less sweet. No ice because we saved it for the next day. This drink was the sweetest and tart. Extremely aesthetic tea spot! Staff is friendly and has knowledge of the menu like the back of their hand. Both Troy and Jenn were able to help us decide on what to order. Troy was a great multitasker, he was training a new staff but still able to advert his attention to guest. Luckily, we came early morning as they were opening and didn't experience any long lines. Worth giving a try but wasn't my cup of tea unfortunately. I wished I understood the hype.. It was good but not amazing. They open quite early compared to other boba shops since they don't need staff to come in early to prep boba. They actually don't have any boba as a topping option. Just jellies and mochi toppings. Drinks either come iced or no ice, nothing in between. Beware no ice will result in "less drink" in your cup. They're really just taking ice out and not adjusting their drink portion. Iced isn't too much ice in my opinion. Mochi has more snap than chew, like diluted konjac jelly. Good but not amazing. Can be kept in fridge overnight and won't harden like traditional boba. Bamboo Jade Oolong Milk Tea - my favorite so far. Creamy and light hints of floral. Ember Milk Tea with Barley Jelly - tea wasn't as potent/strong as I prefer. Watered down oolong milk tea almost. Barley Jelly was refreshing. Barley flavor shines through. Popcorn Milk Tea with Brown Sugar Tapioca Mochi - you can really taste popcorn, milk tea itself is creamy. Sounds weird, give it a try. Jasmine Matcha Latte - Jasmine shines through the matcha. Drink consistency is on the thicker side, a little grainy unfortunately. Matcha Einspanner - wasn't good at all, sweet foam on top is quite waxy. Matcha is extremely grainy. Sweetness can't be adjusted but it wasn't too sweet. Creme Brulee Ice Milk with Brown Sugar Tapioca Mochi - sweetness can't be adjusted for this drink. For reference, I normally order my drinks at 50% and this was way too sweet. I came here on a whim after having dinner with my friends! The exterior is very small and there is plenty of parking on a Sunday evening. The interior is beautiful and minimalistic with very limited seating. There are ipads to order but they weren't working. I was a bit overwhelmed with the options but I just got the most popular option, popcorn milk tea with brown sugar tapiochi. I didn't really like my drink because it was too lightly flavored and tasted watered down. I liked the tapiochi texture though. I did like the crème brûlée milk with tapiochi as it tasted better but nothing I would drive 20 minutes for. Toro tea is by far one of the best boba places that I have ever had. I wish they had more locations because everyone has to try this place! The drinks are on the more expensive side but the quality and flavor of the drink does NOT disappoint. On top of this, their mochi "boba" is so unique but tasty! There is not a lot of seating inside of the shop unfortunately since it is a small shop, but there is a bench waiting area fr what you get your drinks. This place does get busy especially on weekends so make sure to waitlist online or get there early to put your name down. The parking looks kind of small, but the shop itself is also small -- so I imagine a lot of people just come and then leave. I picked up around 10:30am on a weekday and there was no wait! - Dalgona Cloud Top Koan-Im Oolong Latte ($7.50) - SO GOOD. I loved the actual "tea flavor" and it wasn't too sweet. The Dalgona Cloud Top also complemented the tea perfectly without overpowering it -- definitely had a good balance of sweetness. I drank it all way too fast and definitely wanted more! - Crème Brûlée Ice Milk with Brown Sugar Tapiochi ($7.50) - It came with so much cream on top! The tapiochi was so good, I like it more than regular boba -- it was the perfect chewy consistency but also jello like and not too sweet. - Jasmine Matcha Latte ($6.95) - Good matcha flavor with a hint of jasmine. The matcha was also mixed/blended nicely, so you don't get any chunks or grainy textures. - Osmanthus Citrus Refresher with Passion Fruit Jelly ($6.25) - Not too sweet, but very refreshing. Great if you are looking for something caffeine-free and dairy-free. My mom didn't care for the passion fruit jelly, but my dad thought it was a nice sweet addition to the drink. Aesthetic's and drinks are chef's kiss! So far I've tried 4 drinks and their chewies: 1) Calamansi Oolong Twist (not pictured) 2) Cassia Milk Tea with Brown sugar tapioca Mochi 3) Misty Oolong tea with Barley tea jelly 4) a Milk tea they were sampling. From the four, I really like the Misty Oolong tea. It was really smooth and refreshing. However, they're all really good and I enjoyed every sip and chew. I appreciate that they're consistent with how the drinks are prepped. I say this because they were all smooth and didn't leave any film on my tongue. As for the chewies, I like them all. I definitely like their take on toppings. I would suggest getting the tapioca flavors with milk teas and the jellies with their pure teas or mocktails. Just makes sense lol. Also, their "perfect sweet" is what I've been wanting from every tea spot. They just get it! I love the wabi-sabi aesthetic. It's unique and different and definitely a vibe. Came here to pick up some tea after a recommendation by a gf who lives nearby. She mentioned that it reminded her of the now-closed Orobae in Irvine so I absolutely had to try. Immediately I was able to tell that this was a popular spot since it offered a wait-list option on Yelp, something that I didn't expect from a boba place. It didn't necessarily hold your place in line imo but appreciated the effort. I tried their Bamboo Jade Oolong MT (perfect sweet) which was supposedly their seasonal drink and my friend got the Koan Im Oolong MT (less sweet). I'd say the Bamboo Jade was a bit more tea forward in comparison to the Koan Im but both were good. Koan Im was nuttier and milkier. The drinks were really high quality and totally met if not exceeded my expectations in taste and quality. I went on a Saturday and apparently there's always a queue to even order on weekends, and I waited about 45 minutes after checking in via the attendant standing outside who uses Yelp as the platform to manage the wait list, so be prepared for that on weekends at least. The matcha einspanner cannot have the ice volume adjusted and it's literally filled with ice so there was literally almost nothing in that cup and I was done after about 3 sips. The barley pure tea can have no ice so I got that and added the black tea tapimochi, and this one blew me away with how it tasted way fruitier than I was expecting and I absolutely loved it... I think it was really great for my body and digestive system too later on that day! The vibe was pretty chill and I commend the staff for gracefully dealing with the owner's unique ways of doing things. This tea is really special! Similar to boba spots, but not boba. We went around 4 pm and there was no line, but a line quickly formed behind us. We ordered the popcorn milk tea with brown sugar tapiochi, and the misty oolong milk tea with passion fruit jelly. Both were so delicious. After a few parties didnt show up from the waitlist, he let us in to... the line inside. They offered samples on some of the fruit teas and had many options for drinks, toppings and customization. I really enjoyed the milk tea here, but I think the tapiochi might be what keeps me coming back! The misty oolong milk tea was really light and refreshing. The WORST customer experience I've ever had. We joined the Yelp waitlist 1+ hour in advance. Once we arrived, we placed an order for the popcorn milk tea, jasmine matcha latte, and matcha einspanner and stepped outside by the door because it was way too packed and crowded inside. Before exiting, we asked one of the associates holding the iPad outside to confirm that we would receive a text message when our order was ready and she said 'yes'. We waited nearly an hour before going inside to see what was going on. Given the popularity, we thought they were just swamped and wanted to give them some grace. Turns out our order had been sitting out for 35+ min... The cashier laughed in our faces when we explained that we were told we would get a text. We kindly asked whether our drinks could be remade given the situation. The entire lobby could hear the baristas in the back talking trash about us and how it wasn't their fault -- even though this was clearly a miscommunication on their team. After that, they told us they couldn't remake the drinks because it would be "too expensive" despite their customer satisfaction policy on the bottom of their receipts? We had to escalate this with a manager (which was extremely uncomfortable for us) and push for a full refund after waiting nearly 2 hours. It is apparent that the front and back of the house are poorly trained and have no idea what is going on. We did not appreciate being gaslit into thinking it was our fault for stepping outside to wait for our order (see note on receipt for management's thoughts). Even Starbucks would never. Came here with my girlfriend because she was a huge fan and wanted me to try it out. We came on a Saturday evening and there was a really long wait. Thankfully they had a reservation system through Yelp, but apparently the worker said it wasn't fully functioning as it showed 74 parties on the waitlist (which I assume wasn't correct). He told us to wait in the car and come back in 5-10 minutes. Fortunately it didn't take longer than that, and we were able to go inside and order. Inside, the space is pretty small and probably holds maybe 8-10 people max, which makes sense why they make you come back. The worker at the front was really friendly (probably more so than 95% of other boba shops), and was very helpful in giving suggestions. I ended up getting the Popcorn Milk Tea, with I think 50% sweet because he said it was a bit on the sweeter side. We didn't really wait too long for our orders, and thankfully there was a bench inside to use while we waited. The drink itself was really good, especially the mochi topping inside! However, it was like $7.61 or something around that for a regular sized cup, which seems a bit on the high end. The quality tasted good, but not sure if the value was there for me. My girlfriend got the brown sugar tapioca mochi, which was also really good. I probably would get full sweet next time I go. Overall, service and drink quality/flavors were great, but I would have liked the price to be closer to $6, which would make me want to come back often. Parking can be tough especially during peak hours but you can find one in the plaza especially on the other side towards 7-Eleven. There is literally always a line here and they only open online orders during non-busy weekdays. On peak weekends it's only order in person with there queueing system, which is often at least 30-45min waits. Yes they have order limits also to not overwhelm the staff. There is NO WHERE to sit inside so only a grab and go type of place. If you can handle the long wait times or come on off-peak weekdays the menu is very unique and all delicious! The absolutely most try items are the popcorn milk tea and the Koan-in oolong with the cloud foam topping! The staff are super friendly and will help you order the exact drink you're looking for. They often have free samples at the counter to try first too. As the business improves hopefully they will fine tune there output to help quicken the order wait times especially during peak weekends. Unfortunately, I think this place suffered from online over hyping. I'll start with my favorite part- the mochi jellies in the milk tea were delicious. A bit chewier than grass jelly, it was such a a fun texture. I loved it. The milk tea itself was good but definitely didn't taste like popcorn which was really disappointing. I've tried many popcorn ice creams and I was really looking forward to the sweet yet buttery taste I expected. The service was fast- I ordered online during a weekday around lunch. The price was ridiculous. I got two drinks and it almost cost $20! Definitely not a boba place I'd go to again purely because there are so many local boba shops that taste as good or better, and are not as expensive! read more

A vibey crafty tea shop. Tucked into an un assuming plaza we enjoyed our craft drinks! They have these jellies that they add to drinks and allow you to adjust sweetness. Service was kind & we had some samples to get a sense of Perfect sweetness. Will return a light flavor airy and delicious.
