Employees are being treated terrible, not only that but are also exploiting their employees. I come in very frequently and just from overhearing how this one employee talks to the staff is baffling (I'm assuming she might be the manager), they really need to do better and treat people like people. read more

Customer service can make or break places for me. This Torrid is broken. For the past 2 1/2 years, I have come to this location regularly. I quietly come in and try on my clothes, spend lots of money, and leave. The current staff these past few months make me so uncomfortable. I can't believe how judged I feel and that is the last place I expected it. It's saddening and upsetting because in a plus size store, with employees often plus size themselves, I didn't expect to feel unwelcome like this. If someone does ask if I'm doing ok, it comes off insincere and like a formality and the sound of annoyance is frustrating. I purposely go on weeknights while it's not busy and they still find a way to make me feel like I shouldn't be there. As much as I enjoy their products and appreciate the closeness of this location, I just cannot come here anymore. I refuse to support businesses that can't even offer common decency. read more

Great selections to choose from, everybody is welcoming and definitely a friendly atmosphere and inviting place to shop at. As someone who isn't exactly 'plus sized' I could fit myself into a size 00, I usually buy their workout wear because it's tight in the right places and it's very flattering looking and all their pieces have unique designs. Will continue to shop here and will definitely be telling more of my friends to shop here as well. :) read more

This location has really nice and helpful staff. They keep it cool on hot days and the store has enough space where you don't feel suffocated but it's definitely not the biggest location. The clearance area here isn't as nice as other locations I've been to but it is better than the next closest store. The store is clean and well organized but some signage could be more clear whether or not it's on sale and what the sale is. read more

Terrible that the manager and assistant managers just sit around all day and do nothing but trash talk the other employees. I loved the customers, but working there was a disaster. Heard my manager Lorraine call my mother in law an idiot and a bitch for calling to make a complaint. Jen is amazing! All the ladies who work at this Torrid go above and beyond. They are very accommodating, kind, and uplifting. The selection is always fluctuating due to the vast catalogue of clothes torrid carries. If you see it, try it on, and love it... BUY IT!!! It will be gone next visit. Items sell so quickly. The fit, quality, and attention to detail is amazing with torrid products. What I love about this location: - organized - large clearance section - helpful workers - fans in the dressing rooms - new and fresh - parking is never hard to find (esp. behind the building) - close to other stores / shops My favorite things about torrid: - HAUTE CASH (haute cash you earn when you buy, and then allows you to get $25 off $50) - torrid membership (I don't do their credit card, I do however enjoy the perks of earning $10 rewards that I can combine with receipt coupons and other items to get my items and a killer price) The only negatives: - this particular torrid has VERY tall racks. I'm 5'7"-5'8" and I have to really reach in order to get some items down. - the prices can seem a bit steep, but I honestly believe you get what you pay for in torrid clothes because the quality is amazing!!! - buying from torrid is addictive!!! I visted this location a few weeks ago during my visit michelle helped me with every question i had very patiently and helped me pick tons of clothing to fit me she shared her experiences with torrids clothing which better helped me with my purchase she set me up in a fitting room and helped with all my questions throughout my 45 min visit this woman deserves a raise or a promotion she is very attentive and had no issues fitting me for a bra i had one of the best experiences With her ive been to a few different ones across the east bay and no one compares to her and this store! read more

I bought boots on clearance 3 weeks ago for a Christmas party tomorrow. I STILL haven't received the boots. I talked to a customer service rep and he said the boots would for sure be here by 12/13, yet they're still not here. So frusterating that customer service rep said that and that its taking this long to receive.. When online it says that your items ship by 4-10 days. On top of all of this.. You guys don't accept returns/exchanges for clearance items, so I'm stuck paying for these boots that I won't even be able to wear tomorrow. I still haven't even recieved an email that these boots have been shipped out. I will never shop here again. - a very unhappy customer. read more

I just had the "MOST" amazing shopping experience in this store. I didn't know shopping could be so much fun. I am very insecure about my body, so my sister usually does my shopping for me. She hasn't been available so this time it was up to me. Motivation...I have a second interview and my closet is very, very sad to say the least. I've allowed myself to wear some very unattractive clothes because of where I work and just not caring about how I look. That said, back to the motivation...I really want this job and need to look the part. I walked in and was greeted with a "smile"! I didn't know what I wanted so I grabbed a few items and the sales rep, Lynda ask if I needed some assistance. Well, she knows her job. She picked out some awesome outfits, took the time to explain their size system and when I tried on the outfits she picked out, I purchased all, but (2) skirts because of my budget. All in all, I had a GREAT experience and can't wait to go back to add to my wardrobe. Lynda had to leave so Jaz picked up where she left off. Great customers service and some good discounts. I loooooove this store!!!! The people here are so very genuine and nice and helpful. They have GREAT sales, some as good as buy one get one free. Which rationally I know is 50% off, but one free is so much nicer somehow! The clothes are very well made, the fabrics are amazing and the prints are young and trendy without being trashy. They also give you "haute cash" that can be used towards any purchase, even a sale item. Their dressing rooms are very nice, the mirrors are quite easy to work with, you can actually see yourself! The store is well lit and always clean, the clothes are folded nicely on the tables, never have I ever seen anything look like it has been "rifled through" They have awesome fun accessories, not like some other plus size stores that have a slim selection. Another thing, the clothes and bathing suits here ARE indeed built for us bigger gals but they don't look dumpy or frumpy or like they are trying to hide you. They are here to celebrate your curves and do so in good taste! Not your Grammas polyester here. No way! The only thing I don't like here is their shoes. While trendy they are not well made but they do have much larger sizes for those that need it. And since they are trendy you won't be holding onto them for a long time anyway. I love Torrid and this is a great store! The clothes are cute and are plus sizes. I found some great clearance deals. The staff are helpful and they have rooms that they reserve for you by writing you name In erasable ink,plenty of room to hang clothes and a mirror outside of the rooms to see all angles of what you are trying on. Torrid also has on-line shopping so if you don't find you size at the store they can order it for you, or you can order it for yourself and have it delivered to your door. Shopping is free if you have a minimum order, if not they will ship it to the store for free. I wore the dress I bought this weekend today and got tons of compliments. I wish I lived closer because this would be my go to store. read more

HORRIBLE RETURN POLICY!!! So I normally love Torrid However their return policy is horrible and forget it if you buy something online with your much earned haute cash because you will not be able to exchange it and get the same price!! You lose all of that savings!! Not to mention they there return SUCKS!! Come on you guys get it together your clothes are not cheap in fact they're expensive if you want us to shop there don't make it so hard to do exchanges!!!!! read more

Usually I'm not one to sit and write a review but honestly after today I'm displeased with my service..I walked in to return 2 items a bra that was the wrong size and some pjs that weren't the right kind....so nobody's in there it should be easy I have my receipt and card no problem.....I get helped by this one woman not sure of her name and as she's ringing my stuff up I see my items coming up as a different price that I paid so I grew concerned I let her finish my return and tell me my total printed my receipt then I looked at it my total was off I asked why am I getting less back then what I paid and she looked quite.... then an associate jumps in says tax that I paid online won't be the same tax I get back in store....how is that I paid a certain price therefore I should get what I paid for......then the manger who usually is pleasant grabs the receipt from me and rudely says we can fix it it's already going back to your card...I said so you need to figure something out I want the rest of my money.....then she's going to basically walk away and come back with my difference that I was missing and throw it in my hand and said here it's not worth doing all the paperwork.......I feel that I shop here way to much to be treated so rudely and the fact that she then after write in my receipt that's these items have been returned and dated it like I would try and do some fraud type thing is offensive.......torrid you need to train this staff at the Brentwood store because this is unexceptionable by all means....
