Bought $700 worth of clothes for graduation. Tried to exchange a suit jacket 7 days later before having worn it to graduation tomorrow. I was denied because the do not remove tag was not on the suit. I did remove one tag in the back (picture below) when trying on my whole outfit at home. I realized it was too tight around the waist. So I went to exchange it for a bigger size. The only tag on the jacket was handwritten, clearly was a return or exchange from previous customer. It took about 10 minutes to ring it up when I bought it because it didn't have the normal tags. But they would not accept the exchange because it had the "do not remove" tag removed from the sleeve. I was sold this item without the "do not remove" tag on it. I did not remove it, but the sales clerk called me a liar. I was sold a returned item that already had the tag removed, and was unworn. And the store manager refused to have a conversation with me. Horrible experience. Horrible customer service. Horrible policies. Do not shop here. read more

Quality is ok. Store itself is well run and inviting. I wasn't in the mood to try on jeans but they looked and felt very ok to me. Unique colors - nothing too crazy but just different enough to stand out. Belt selection looked mostly dress up type. Would have liked to see one that was plain and a bit thicker. I like something a bit heavy duty. Selection online is a bit different. They have more of certain things. An option is to buy online and ship to store. Sometimes its almost easier to shop online if you know what you want. Saw a wallet by the register. Seemed very thin and I liked that but quality was not as good as the one I currently have from Nordstrom (store brand) that must be 10 to 15 years old. BEWARE Express's return and exchange policy is from the ship date not the delivery date. So you're penalized with a shorter return time period online with less time with the items in your possession vs purchasing in the store! Ordered a few items online on Oct 19, 2024. The items shipped on Oct 23, and delivered on Oct 29, 2024. I tried to return the items on Nov 23, and my return was denied because the 30 days to return or exchange is from the date the items shipped. And since October has 31 days that window ended on Nov 22, 2024. So it took 6 days after the items were shipped before I received them. So that's 24 days I had the item in my possession if that's from the delivery date to return the item. If I bought it in the store I would have 30 days, so you're penalized when you buy it online. And Express's free shipping is one of the slowest. I won't be buying anything from Express anytime soon, and will at least warn the people I know of their slow shipping which return policy that penalizes you buying online vs in-store. I've been shopping with Express online for over a decade now and the first time I ever had an issue with a return I was rejected. They said my return was outside the return window, I tried to explain that I normally return items at the their clothing store in Roanoke, Virginia but found out that they just closed down the whole store in the mall then what I get is sorry we can't do nothing for you and your basically stuck with it. Since this store is located in the mall there's plenty of parking spaces. The fitting area has more than 10 rooms so naturally there's no lines. The customer service here is fantastic, I had several questions and wasn't left without answer, even if the staff didn't know the answer they'd find out immediately. They were also helpful with finding different sizes of the clothing while I was in the fitting room. The store itself has such a good vibe, mind you it's a bit pricy but the quality and the design of the clothes worth it for sure. read more

Customer service here is a JOKE! I walked inside the fitting room and tried to find an employee but nobody was inside the fitting room. So I'm standing by the registers and one employee was folding clothes I said excuse me and pointed at the fitting rooms and she said you can take any open doors. Okay? So I go inside the fitting rooms and guess what, all of the doors were closed and locked! Where's the open doors? I looked on a rack and saw the employee key hanging over. Did they want us to open the doors ourselves? What if some creepy perv noticed the key and tried to open the doors where women are changing! I found a fitting room and I went inside cause like the employee with a crop black top and a open back said take any open door, so I went inside and I get a knock and I said yes? A different employee says oh sorry but this fitting room belonged to a different customer so can you just hand me the clothes that are hanging? UHHHHHHHHH first of covid, and second HOW DOES AN OPEN FITTING ROOM BELONG TO SOMEONE WHEN ANOTHER EMPLOYEE SAID TAKE ANY OPEN DOOR! After putting on the jeans I was trying on I opened the door and gave the employee the clothes she said thanks and opened a new fitting room door for another person and started opening two other doors for other people wanting to try on clothes. Okay screw me right? Later on both me and my mom were about to start paying and she told the cashier she had a coupon, the cashier saw the expiration and said it expired on august 11th. We knew he wanted a navy suit but were unsure of how to style it with a vest. Ricardo asked questions about shoes and ties to get a better understanding of the look he was going for and made some suggestions based on the information we gave him. He went to grab other shirts, colors and sizes for us and when we couldn't find the vest we wanted he checked to see if they had it online. Don't waste your time or money in this location! This store is horrible at customer service! Saddest part is it's the closest location to me. I walked in looking for work attire and one employee was nice enough and helped me with sizes and blazers. I then went to try them on and first of all there is nobody in there to help guide you and when they are they're on their phones. This review is strictly for SANDRA! She asked me "do you have any coupons on YOUR ACCOUNT? To which I replied I might because I have an account with express, she then hands me a mobile device asking to put my number and email and I noticed it stated "add member" and I asked her if she was signing me up for anything and she replied "oh no I'm just checking your account" literally grabs the device and hits add member and proceeds to tell me " I went ahead and signed you up now" mind you she lied, and falsely without my consent added me to a program which I am already a part of. I was really upset but not to the point to go off on anyone so I asked her "what did you sign me up for?" And she said insider so I reminded her she told me she didn't and to that she replied "why are you being so rude mam" I was so taken back by this comment which made me upset. I just left and walked to the register and asked for their manager but obviously they don't do anything about it, if anything I've witness them make fun of customers right in front of me. This is my favorite Express store in entire bay area since I got royal treatment here once :) Me and my friend walked in around 5:30pm on Sunday evening and there were 90 mins left in the store closing. I didn't wanted to buy anything in particular but my friend wanted too. But reverse happened. She didn't buy anything and I ended up buying few clothes..haha. But she could select some colors and patterns, which she ended up buying online. As I was looking around, my hands were full with the clothes that I decided to try. An assistant walks up to me and asks me if I would like to keep the clothes in a trial room. She will keep the trail room closed for me :) Now who can say no to such an offer, I offcourse say yes and was delighted to have the clothes waiting in the room instead of me carrying them around. Once I was done deciding, I just walked in to try them out. Great day of shopping I must say. My friend was delighted to know that you can request an assistant to keep the clothes in a trial room if the store is empty enough. Kudos to the amazing staff and their hospitality. Came here for some Black Friday shopping. Everything in the store was 50% off before noon. After that it became 40% off. The place has a lot of cool things for pretty decent prices. I bought at sweater with a price tag of 69.95 and he rang it up as 14.95. No idea, but it worked out for me! The line was a rather strange and almost got into a dude for trying to cut, but thankfully I had some back up. If you're a dude and want some pretty posh clothing, this place is for you. read more

I like this Express because they have a bigger selection that the other stores nearby. But on the down side, this one is always more messy and busy. I've found that coming before noon means I wont have to wait in line for a fitting room and the store is not as torn apart as it is later in the day. I also really like the recent expansion they've done, and how each room is organized (professional, casual/dresses, and denim). I keep getting coupons from them in the mail, and love coming here to look around. They always have new styles and and often good sales like buy one get one 1/2 off. I've found that their denim is really soft, but it stretches out a lot after wearing it. I do wish that they carried 00 in their store. It's nice that they have pants available in short, regular, and long, but 00 is online only. read more

They have a lot of selection in styles, but not in sizes. We did find some cute things, and I'd absolutely go back. We ended up getting one shirt that didn't fit. When I went to exchange, the sales person was great. I couldn't find the shirt on the floor, but she knew right where to look and immediately went to grab me a different size. Being introduced to the working world in the past year, I've had to update the wardrobe. Gone are the days of JCPenneys and t-shirts from online...well Express Men was there to help me in that transition - especially on Black Friday (sorta) First, the shirts are a great fit for someone like me - a bit slender of a build and definitely down with the slim shirts. They look great and actually last quite a while. But alas you get what you pay for...these shirts go for about $60 each. Luckily there are sales from time to time...which gets me to Black Friday... Black Friday - one word, lines. A line to get in, almost a line to check out shirts, and a long line to checkout. It was a bit cray, but the retail workers were busy trying to make sure everything was in order, which I appreciated. Aside from the hectic-ness and waiting, I was able to get three shirts at 50% off - that's insane. Half off these $60 shirts? Basically the only reason for me to come to VF at midnight on BF. I bought 3 button downshirts and a sweater for such a steal. the button downs were 70 dollars retail, then with end of season clearance, went down to $40, then additional 50% off clearance took it to $20. THEN I filled out an online survey for my shopping experience and it was 15% off of that so $17 for 3 nice shirts. The sweater I got was $88 retail then went down to $21. after clearance and survey discount. $72 for 4 items at Express. I'll definitely be coming here again. read more

The manager there used to be a staff there who was also unfriendly and still is unfriendly. Inventory wise not good. Express Men Valley Fair - 1 Word Description : Lackluster Came here for the New Years sale. Was not really that impressed since it seems like Express is always running a sale. Love the clothing design, patterns, and the way they fit. But they lack material quality. Let me tell you something about it. Always running into issues with their material. I have had clothing fade from here, buttons pop off prematurely, crotch rips, [you name it]. So I purchased this beautiful red iridescent large size fitted shirt, that gripped my bulging arms perfectly. So it is the big day, going to an important business meeting, put the shirt on and wam-bam I discover a snag....... Bummer... Bummer... So I screamed out expletives privately, and rushed out of the house with a less powerful shirt. But wait it get's better... trying to exchange. The worker bees give you the stink eye when you do not have any tags attached. Come on! Well luckily they were willing to exchange it. They were also questioning when I bought it, even though I had the receipt and physical tags in my possession, and the shirt had it's own mannequin display, and a 10 foot section of rack. Ay Carumba! Stopped going here for myself years ago but recently came to buy some good looking shirts for the boo... came in a week later for a size exchange only to find many of the items purchase only a week ago were now on sale. No big deal we thought as we had the original receipt and figured they could just price adjust at the register since the item #s were on there as well as the original pricing. NOPE. My fiancé and I were the second people in the store this morning upon opening. We were never greeted even though there was an associate who watched us walk in. They walked past us several times as if we didn't exist. No one offered help at any point. I was standing next to an associate while I was trying to find a better pants size for my fiancé while he was in the fitting room, and while I was struggling to reach (I'm vertically challenged) he didn't offer to help. When I was in line to check out there was a couple ahead of me who took a VERY long time to check out, but when it was my turn the associate didn't apologize for the wait. They are not training their associates on how to do returns until customers are there in front of them, you have more people on the floor helping than you do on registers (doesn't make sense - revenue is waiting for you to check out...should prioritize checking out). Express always has cute and affordable clothing options for women. They have snazzy shirts, cool dresses, and sylish office wear. With that said, my little sister's birthday and Christmas are two weeks apart. So I came here in early December to get her birthday and Christmas present all at once and effectively kill two birds with one stone like O.J. Simpson (allegadelly) did in the '90s. Now that was a dated pop culture reference. For the holidays, they were a bit understaffed. But even with only 3 employees, I saw them all helping customers, assigning them fitting rooms, checking inventory, ringing customers up, and folding clothes when the lines for purchases were short (or non-existent). Now that is what you call multitasking. They can definitely put that on their resume. And so can O.J. Wow! Two O.J. Simpson references in one review. That has to be a record. Anyway, one guy who was working the cash register, took the time to find smaller sizes in the back for my vertically challenged sister. I ended up getting two nice work outfits for her (with the fashion advice of La Novia), so when she when she earns her master's degree in June, she'll be properly attired for work. That is, if she can find a job in this economy. Overall, this was a 4-star gift shopping experience. As I was paying, I tried to use a coupon that was mailed to me (since I shop at Express Men) and sadly, it was expired by a day. He rang it up anyway and I got $40 off. That lifted my holiday spirits! And well, that merits an extra star. read more

What was confusing about this store was that there's two Express stores in this mall but one floor was for men's and one floor was for women's. The staff must have been reading these reviews because I was instantly greeted and constantly asked if I needed help getting anything or had any questions. I was probably asked 4 times in a span of 3 minutes. I love that they have slim fit that is ACTUALLY slim. My boyfriend and I are always on a hunt for some nice shirts that fit well and most places with "slim" fit make me question what these designers define as "slim". Great fit, great material, but a little pricey. Some of the items have understandable prices such as the blazers and jackets but some of these shirts are really casual and or ugly and they start at $59++++. I definitely appreciate all the great deals and and coupons I got to take advantage of this holiday. I've always loved the clothes for it's quality and value here. I just have a minor criticism with the cleanliness of the place. I was in the fitting room trying on a sweater and there were dust bunnies all over the floor. It definitely looked like no one had sweep for a long time. The dust got all over the merchandise and all over my jacket. I was quite peeved by that. During my last recent visit here I wanted to take advantage of my "fast cash" coupon before it expired and was looking at these sweaters wraps which were on sale. I found a black one in my size and then went to proceed to see if they had a grey one in my size. The has a light grey one but right when I put it on, a wrench smell of body odor quickly filled my nostrils. I was quite disgusted. But here is what I think about Express as a store Pros: - great selection of clothing - professional, dressy, casual, lounge, sporty - an extensive offering of JEANS! - store is well organized and divided into sections that make sense - good selection on jewelry and accessories - always trendy and just a little bit of funk (which is what I like) - you can get a rewards card that is not a credit card - this particular store has the most selection as compared to surrounding locations Cons: - from talking with friends, they only seem to fit a certain body-type, so you may need to get some tailored - due to the size of this store, sometimes it's hard to flag a staff Being a one-stop shop kind of woman, this is my go-to for anything I need in terms of clothing and accessories. TIP: Take advantage of their Express Next card and be on their mailing list because they don't spam very often and they send you sales and discounts off and online! read more

Helpful service and good selection of clothing/accessories! Found a very sophisticated and fashionable dress for my boyfriend's company dinner. I love how the dress hugs my body in all the right places and isn't too revealing either. It was kinda pricey ($80) but not too bad for the quality and comfort that it provides. Funny thing, I went to Icing (another store on the other end of the mall) to look for... duh -- icing (cheaper/affordable accessories) and showed one of the employees my dress and she fell in love with it and said that after she was done with her shift, she was going to go over to Express to buy herself the same dress! This is one of my favorite clothing stores. They usually have chic yet edgy and stylish looking clothes here for ranging from business wear to evening outfits. Today I got an awesome blue violet mens cut shirt here that is cuffed at the elbow. It's fitted so and stretches so it's comfy yet sexy. I also got a beautiful metal chain necklace with some purplish beads in it that matched the shirt very nicely-:) It wasn't cheap, the shirt was $39.50 and the necklace was the same price. I was certainly bad today! But I deserved it! The necklace will go great with a few other items I have. It was the last one left so I had to get it. Right now if you buy one jewelry item, you get the other one 50% off of equal or lesser value. Also, they're having a sale on clothes and scarfs. If you buy one scarf, you get the second one free. I love this store even though most of the stuff is usually expensive. When they have sales though, you can find some really great stuff at bargain prices! I've found some super cute tops here in the past that used to be $60.00 and went all the way down to $15.00 or less-:D I hope this store stays around forever! read more
