    Birria taco time!
    Stephy S.

Delicious! It was finally time to try this trending birria taco. We came to the Union City location. Cash only! Parked by a small metered parking lot. Make sure you pay bc we saw the meter police looking for expired times. Once you order they will take your phone number to txt you when ready. We ordered six birria tacos and two small consomes. Delicious! And the tacos were generously stuffed w meat. I'll be back! PS the definitely use the orange sauce with your tacos. And PPS don't forget to drink leftover consome!

These birria tacos are IT!!!! OMG!!! Literally the best! If you dip it in the consomé it's even more delicious. I recommend 100%. I was in the mood for some birria tacos and have heard nothing but great things about this truck that's located in Union City so for lunch i decided to treat myself. Since i only have an hour lunch i decide to call and pre order for pick up at 12pm. I got there and my tacos were there already made waiting for me. It was such a fast process. I was amazed of how delicious they were and i was super full with 3 tacos. I can't wait to order from here again!

This food truck is worth the stop! I came by to try the tacos and they were worth it. Pour plenty of salsa onto the tacos and follow up with dipping these cheesy tender shredded beef tacos into a delicious broth. Move aside Al pastor and carnitas tacos. This is the trending taco on the east coast. Show up and order some! (You can order 4 for me while you are there) Their tortas look delicious and will have to try that next. Besides how can I not try one if thats their name? See ya soon Torta Truck!

You might miss this place because of how small and compact the truck is but trust me you will not regret getting online and waiting for this steaming hot meal! Taco's are hands down one of my favorite foods to eat and this place was such a DELCIOUS! find! This place seems to pack their taco with flavorful shredded beef, refreshing herbs and an amazing sauce that pairs perfectly with the tacos. After I ate my 3 tacos I was ready to take a big nap because of how stuffed they got me! Small but extremely mighty. I crave these the next day when they are all gone and I cannot wait to travel back and eat here again in the summer.

Omg, so delicious, tasteful and great. I love me some quality tacos. One of my favorite places to get Mexican food. I tried this location for the first time.

So, I've been quiet for awhile, but being that summer is over, I got my workout in, and I'm not in a bikini anymore I figured why not. I'm a sucker for a food truck and I've heard quite a bit about the Torta Food Truck - so when it was parked outside my place, I had to try it out. I tried both the tacos on the menu and the torta that the girl taking my order recommended (the beef one). Honestly, I thought I was gonna be obsessed with the tacos but the torta wow-ed me! I also ordered the consome which is like a stew/slash dipping sauce that they offered - I highly recommend getting this, I dipped everything in this!!! Also with the tacos they gave you two different hot sauces, a verde one and an orange-ish colored one (which packed a little heat). I used both! For the tacos, the pork one was good but the beef one (birria) was my favorite hands down. Also, they offer to put cheese on it and I did that as well. Both were flavorful, but the beef outshined the pork in my book. Really juicy and with the crunch of the shell it was perfect. I had both with the meat, cheese, and cilantro (you know I hate onions). The beef was seasoned very well, I assume with chiles and different types of spices. Pork was pretty flavorful as well. Now on to the torta, the bread was what made this sandwich, it was fresh and toasted. You got a bit of a crunch with every bite, it came with a four cheese blend, and mayo, which at first I wasn't going to put on but it came that way so I kept it and I'm happy I did. I dipped this in the consome as well and it added even more flavor. I would hands down be ordering from here again. Make sure if you see this truck around the area... STOP. Their menu online shows quite a bit more then what was offered tonight, def hope I get to try out their empanadas!!!

This food truck didn't disappoint with the birria tacos. I've been looking everywhere for these tacos. I ordered, they texted me when they were done and they provided extra cilantro for free upon request. Fresh. Affordable. So good. Do yourself a favor and check them out.

Go there around 4 and they only had 5 birria tacos left.. so get there earlier! The consome was SO GOOD!! Dipped my tacos into it *chefs kiss* first time trying birria and not disappointed!! Also tried the pastor tacos, also amazing! They even had pineapple in them, definitely recommend anyone trying to find birria in the Hudson county area!

    Birria tacos and birria torta
    Teresa C.

INCREDIBLE!!! Got the birria torta and tacos with a side of broth for dipping. The tacos came with two salsas and lime wedges for additional flavoring. The Birria torta was the best torta I've ever had. The meat was tender, the bread had a nice crisp on the outside, and all the flavors melted together beautifully. The Birria tacos were also delicious but definitely a little more oily, maybe because of the additional cheese. I will definitely be going back!

Amazing definitely recommend. I went when they had their $2 dollar special I had the birria tacos and they are legit! Better than chofi tacos for sure! They are located in union city & jersey city. If you're in the area definitely try it out

So glad I found this place! And will be going back again and again. I've never had birria tacos so I have nothing to compare to, but in general they were amazing especially with the consome. The Al Pastor was a little too sweet for me but still good. Also loved that they did not skimp on the meat!

Amazing. I could eat that consome everyday

First time trying birria tacos and OMG I think I'm in love with them . One of the best tacos spots in NJ. Can't wait to have some again!!

We ordered: Borracho Tacos (fish) $22 Esquites Gratinee (corn) $10 Truffle Ribeye Burrito $27 Black Chili Crunch Guacamole $14 The borracho tacos aka fish tacos were very small and disappointing. They are very overpriced for what we received. One small piece of fish per little taco shell. Flavor was ok. Are they worth $22? Absolutely not. We will not be reordering these. The Esquites Gratinee corn side dish was bigger than the guacamole portion and flavorful per my boyfriend. I don't eat corn so I didn't have any. My boyfriend really liked it. Said it's unique and 10/10. He would get this again. The truffle ribeye burrito is delicious. Though I didn't get any truffle flavor? If it was there, it's minimal. I didn't taste it at all. The ribeye was cooked perfectly and it's a good portion of meat. Tender and flavorful. No chewiness. Sauce on top is amazing. Rice and beans cooked perfect. Would order this again. It's worth it. Even without truffle flavor. Great portion size too. The black chili crunch guacamole is the star of the show. While it's a small portion, it's very flavorful. Love the garlic. Love the crunch. Fresh avocados. This is worth it. We would definitely order it again. Highly recommend the guac. Small but mighty haha.

That occasion had been a few years ago and had involved an insanely strong margarita, an experience that I would not want to relive. However, my friend suggested grabbing dinner there recently, and since it was a nice evening and their outdoor dining was right on the main thoroughfare of Washington Street, I agreed to at least go to enjoy their excellent people watching. I certainly vowed to skip the cocktails, but was willing to give their food another chance. We started with crisp, lightly-salty tortilla chips and a rich, bold salsa. I then ordered Vegetable Fajitas, which included green and red bell peppers, zucchini, and onions. The peppers had been sliced so thin that they were barely noticeable and made hardly any flavor impact. The sizzling platter was also about 85% onions, of which I was not a fan, so I sent back most of them in the end. The whole thing was also rather greasy. The flour tortillas were delicious and not artificial tasting like most. The DIY platter was also served with a side plate of refreshing sour cream, well-seasoned guacamole, sliced jalapenos, and fresh pico de gallo. I wished the portions of these condiments were larger, though, and the guacamole, in particular. The staff was so friendly, allowing us to linger at the table after we paid and even refilling our water during that time. They all provided service with a smile, which also helped ease any frustration a diner might have about the fact that they apply an automatic tip of 20% to the check for any party size. While I still had a decent experience at East LA, it was much better than I had remembered, and I would be willing to return.

It's an also an opportunity to thank Tacoria for the "small" nachos, currently $10 and not small. When I discovered the JC branch circa 2020 Uber delivery, it was definitely one of the cheapest non-pizza options in coastal NJ. The golden avocado is perhaps the best of the main ingredients but multiple versions benefit from the escabeche peppers. A cashier immediately tried to stop her from going, even though we were clearly customers already waiting in line to order. What made the situation worse was what happened next. A manager identified as Justin and another cashier began arguing about the situation in front of customers. Instead of calmly explaining any policy, the discussion turned into an awkward back-and-forth between staff members while we stood there waiting. The entire interaction became uncomfortable and embarrassing, and it felt like we were being treated as if we had done something wrong simply for asking to use the restroom while waiting to order. If the restaurant has a policy that restrooms are only for paying customers, that's completely understandable. However, there was no visible sign anywhere explaining that policy. Situations like this should be handled professionally and respectfully, especially when customers are already in line to make a purchase. What could have been a simple moment of customer service instead turned into an unnecessarily uncomfortable experience. I hope management reviews how staff communicate policies with customers and considers posting clear signage about restroom access so situations like this can be avoided in the future.

Christ on a chopstick, I haven't seen an $8 sandwich since I was in grad school (back when dinosaurs roamed the earth)! We started with the Tamal Cubano, which was fantastically delicious, though the accompanying sauce wasn't hot at all. A shame, because it was well-flavored--just needed a lot more capsaicin. My Cubano was very well done, but barely had any pickle in it, which made me sad. I opted to add fries and wasn't sad about the small, thin ones I got (very McDonald's-shaped). However, the Pechuga de Pollo Adobada con Escabeche de Calabaza was a disappointment. The grilled chicken was drastically overcooked, probably because they used really lean breast meat. The accompanying Caribbean pumpkin was interesting, but too small. The other side of rice and beans was perfect, though--great bean texture and lots of savory flavor. With tax and tip included, our meal came out to $33. $33! You can't even get lunch for one person for that price at 90% of Manhattan restaurants south of Central Park. The outside has always made me walk past, but I finally decided to try it tonight as I've gotten sick of Chipotle. Plus it's always a good feeling to support our local businesses. While I wouldn't call this spot a "hidden gem" of Hoboken by any stretch, I did thoroughly enjoy my burrito. I got a regular grilled chicken burrito and everything that came with it. Upon my first bite it was apparent that the chicken was more like hibachi chicken than grilled chicken (not a complaint but not what was advertised). If you try it you'll know exactly what I mean. No complaints about anything else. They could have made more of an effort in evenly distributing the contents of the burrito but thats just me being picky. If it means anything to whoever may be reading this...the burrito felt like it weighed 5 pounds and I found myself eating the entire thing. So why 3/5 stars? This burrito cost me $16! While the ingredients were fresh and the portion was huge, it's hard to justify one burrito at almost 20 bucks. Complain about Chipotle's portions all u want, but my bowl there only costs me like $12. I'd definitely go back again at some point, but it just didn't taste good ENOUGH to justify the price tag.
