The platter comes with perfectly seasoned chicken over rice, along with fresh lettuce and tomatoes. I got the famous white sauce and hot sauce on the side so I could add as much as I wanted, and both took the dish to the next level. The chicken was flavorful, tender, and paired perfectly with the rice. The portion was generous and incredibly filling, making it an excellent value. Everything tasted fresh, and I honestly enjoyed every bite. That said, it was so good I could probably eat two platters! The line was long, but don't let that discourage you it moved steadily and was absolutely worth the wait. Whether you're a local or just visiting NYC, this is one of those iconic spots you have to experience at least once. it!

I don't go as much as I use to, as the price has more than doubled since 2017/18. However, that has nothing to do with my rating. My problem is that meats have gone downhill. I used to love gyro meat - never sure what it was exactly lamb or beef - but now it is just gross and greasy. The chicken which used to be excellent is now very dry. The white sauce is great and the rice is fine, but that is it. Not worth getting anymore. Maybe one of their competitors is better, can't really be worse.

White sauce is added on top and other sauces (hot sauce, BBQ, and green sauce) are packed in small plastic containers and available to take on the side. I really enjoyed the food here; it was fresh and tasted better than most Halal carts in the city. There's a bit of a wait, but it's worth it! Service: Service is nothing special; there are many people cooking and 1-2 staff members taking orders. This halal cart opens at 6pm every day, and a line starts forming along the sidewalk well before 6pm. There were about 20 people ahead of us in line, and we waited for a total of 40-45 minutes before it was our turn. Once it's your turn, your order comes out pretty quickly. Ambiance: This cart is located on 6th avenue and 49th Street diagonal from Radio City Music Hall. The cart itself doesn't have any seating, but there are many tables and chairs directly across from the cart that are open to the public. Overall, I would HIGHLY recommend this spot!

For about $16 or so you get a ton of meat perfectly seasoned, tender and moist served over a bed of yellow rice plus a couple of narrow slices of pita bread and just the right amount of white sauce by default. Absolutely delicious! Straightforward to the point service. Street Vendor Casual egalitarian Street Food kinda vibe. PRO TIP: (as others have said): Long lines here yes, but you can skip most of it if you just order ahead for pickup from GrubHub, as they have TWO carts here - a new cart dedicated for these online orders, and their original cart for walk-up orders with the longer line.

My go to is the Liège waffle with strawberries, speculoos, and fudge, and it is out of this world. Her S'mores waffle had the whipped cream, graham cracker, and chocolate, and it was just as good. We were both very, very happy. I first had to find the cart's exact location in Washington Square Park--he's in the southwest corner by the playground. Then I had to find his schedule--he generally works 4 variable days per week from 10:30 am-2:00 pm. It's best to follow him on social media (I use Instagram) where he posts his working days. Then come early or be prepared to stand in line! He's a one-man show and waits of +1 hour are not uncommon. Pretty much everything is made to order. I arrived a bit after 10 am; Thiru was still setting up. He does have a helper for set-up. Three of us were early birds. He offered me hot tea for the wait, then shortly began preparing my pondicherry dosa. This man is such a kind, trusting soul! A nanny approached and wanted some samosas for her toddler. She didn't have cash or her phone (NY Dosas accepts Venmo and Zelle), so her gave her 2 samosas and told her to pay him later! Also, he does not seem to check if your payment went through. His love of what he does (he's been at it since 2001) shines through his actions and interactions with customers. He takes photos with pretty much everyone. This was my first dosa ever, and it was delish. Everything here is vegan/vegetarian. The rice and lentil crepe had a crisp texture and was filled with veggies and potatoes. There was a coconut chutney alongside, as well as a small cup of lentil soup with veggies and 2 sauces, a spicy green one and a sweet mango one. He has a variety of drinks available also. I also ordered a samosa, which are premade out of necessity, and it too was delish. Overall a great cheap meal made by a genuine star. Nearby Michelin-starred Southern Indian restaurant Semma also serves dosas, which I'm sure are also delish, but perhaps not star-made.
