Love this restaurant! Always great food served here and by a wonderful family. They have been here for years and have never disappointed.

Roberto's was featured on Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives. After seeing Roberto's on Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives, I was excited about the idea of finding some really good food at a gas station restaurant. Not because I like to eat at gas stations, because it seems like a really unique situation. With that being said, I was a little disappointed when I arrived at Roberto's to find it as a standard strip mall restaurant, and no longer being located in a gas station. I decided to order a Beef Chimichanga combination plate. It was a pretty good chimichanga, but not the best I've had. The beef was tender and tasty, and the rice and beans on the side had a nice fresh taste to them. The service was fast enough and friendly and the prices were lower than expected. The biggest complaint is that it's located in Anthem which is close to an hour from where I live. I'd probably go again if it was located closer to the city. Above average food along with great prices give Roberto's an above average rating of four stars. read more

Great simple Mexican food in a family-owned business. Good value on everything and decent portion size, too. The restaurant seating area is pretty small but there is an outdoor patio if the weather is decent. My wife loves tamales and can't get them here but otherwise the menu is diverse. I like the fact that the owner is often around to greet diners and supervise things. read more

I hate to give them 3 stars, bc the owner (uh, is he Roberto? I dunno) is SOOOOOOOO nice! I felt a little star struck when I was talking with him, as I had just seen him on the Food Network. Anyways. The food here - I dunno, maybe it tastes better when you eat IN the gas station? which, btw is quite nice for a gas station. At any rate, the prices are quite decent, but the food just wasn't. Maybe my expectations were sky-high bc of Guy Ferretti's ravings on his Food Network show. I dunno. The carne asada wasn't very juicy, the tacos al pastor were also dry and quite flavorless. On the flip side. The service is amazing. And within a certain radius, you can get free delivery with an $8 order. So, that's cool. The 3 stars is mostly bc the owner is really awesome. The glowing Yelp reviews brought me here and it was good but not (in my opinion) deserving of the rah-rah-rah. Note that this is an order-at-the-counter type of place as opposed to a restaurant-restaurant. My fish tacos were tasty although a bit bland. The actual fish was delicious and well prepared but the tacos themselves could have used a little zing. I did add the salsa that was given to us and that helped but it still felt like it missing something. read more

I ordered the Carne Asada platter. The photo on the menu above the counter shows mouth watering slices of grilled sirloin. What came out on the plate was warmed up pre-cooked hamburger. My wife ordered the chicken quesadilla and the chicken appeared to be the stuff that comes out of a can. The manager was kind enough to offer a refund on the dinner, but honestly I am confused how this place stays in business. They use the cheapest possible ingredients. There are very very few times that have found any South if the border food that didn't taste like all the rest. I'm not even a fan of most the food. Beans I consider cheap replacement or a plate filler. At Tortas Chano the had many choices without the Bean and there amazing. The California Burrito, Beef Stew wrapped in a 14' inch 16oz beer can shell and fill to the top. We are in from Iowa, only regret not coming back. read more

Well, we tried this place a couple of years ago and were not impressed. I read a review raving about the Mexican pizza. The reviewer said it was the best he had ever eaten so I tried it today. Pretty bad. I had to spit out brown chunks, I assume were beef, and everything else was tasteless. The red sauce is like plain tomato sauce. And the guacamole had no flavor at all. Two tries is enough for me. I'll go to Taco Bell. read more

Ok, most stuff I have had is OK! But I adore the chicken chimichanga, red enchilada smotheted style. Their enchilada sauce has cinnamon or nutmeg or something special in it that just makes my taste buds sing! My hubs loves this dish too and he is a beef eater at heart. My girly likes the quesadilla, but to be honest, Chipotle has the best chicken quesadillas. Their salsa is tasty. The portions are large. It's worth a try, but go for the chicken chimi. read more

Rip off. Ordered $29 dollars worth of food for delivery. The young lady showed up and told me she didnt have any change holding her wallet. So she took $40 since "she didnt have change". The service was good, the food didn't taste bad, pretty standard fast food Mexican food. Kind of bland but okay. Salsa, even the hot variety wasn't very hot and didn't have much flavor. Best salsa I have ever tasted! I didn't stop in the restaurant. I just happen to have the pleasure of speaking to Roger on the phone through my job. Let me tell you how great it was speaking with him. If he run his businesses like he does his personal business then I know they are all wonderful people. Now this salsa is to die for! Dear Tortas Chano "Authentic Mexican Food", I'm really sorry to tell you this but your food is far from "Authentic Mexican". For starters, Cheddar cheese is not used in REAL Mexican cuisine. Your attempt to make red salsa is terrible. Your attempt to making it spicy by adding black pepper is offensive. Your food is comparable to Taco Bell, somewhat better, but not by much. Food is lacking flavor and is very bland. Unfortunately, the current situation has discouraged anyone from traveling but you could really benefit from traveling to Mexico and TRULY learning what AUTHENTIC food is all about. I hope you can take this as constructive feedback. There are not many Mexican restaurants in the area and the residents deserve to experience authentic Mexican. read more

The food is consistently between 3 and 4 stars. The one thing that is always 5 stars though, is the service. If you call in an order and they tell you 10-15 minutes, it will be ready in 10. They are so on top of their customer satisfaction game, and it shows. The restaurant is also super clean, which is nice. I recommend picking up from here, as their dining area isn't huge. That said, it's a great, casual place to grab lunch with a friend. They make great carnitas and I'm a big fan of their wet burritos. Also, they never do me wrong with some good tacos or burritos. I like that the food isn't super greasy. Sometimes, the food is more flavorful than others, so I wouldn't say their food is SUPER consistent, but it's never ever been anything less than good... it's just not always GREAT. Come here for some good takeout for the family and say hi to the wonderful staff! read more

Looking through the reviews you'll notice the bad reviews come from people that seem to really not know Mexican food one guy calls it "Connie Asada", another calls it a "chimmy Chunga", and finally I stopped after seeing another person call it a "chicken Casadilla".
