Well this isn't a Berto's, but it is probably right about the same quality or below that level. The place is open until 10:30 only on most nights and is kind of hidden off the main highway. One of those if you need to eat situations, go here. Both red and green sauce were not good. Red had no flavor and green was tangy and overly spicy. Rolled Tacos - 5 for 5 bucks. These were not that crunchy, but not the worst rolled tacos either. Middle of the pack stuff. Rice - not good, do not order. Horchata - watery, not worth the money Breakfast Burrito - potatoes, egg and cheese. This was the best item we ordered. Eggs were fresh and the burrito was good quality. Very disappointed to talk to manager Eduardo today. He was very rude! I asked him why I was hung up on (called in a phone order) He actually said " your order was too small. I tried to call back and no answer. He said "I don't answer the phone when I don't feel like it !" Yes I was a bit shocked but there was no mistake as our whole conversation was in Spanish. Horrible, horrible attitude! I clearly ordered "Steak Carne Asada" burritos and was given pork "carnitas". When I returned with the order the drive through window was argued with that I was wrong and I ordered "Steak Carnitas" ....which isn't a thing. He admitted he knew I said steak but argued for 10mins saying I was wrong and wouldn't fix the order until I admitted I was wrong as the customer. In all my life in the service industry, I have never had someone fight me so savagely to insist they hadn't made a mistake. This attitude ruined this place for me forever. I spent plenty of time in the service industry myself and right or wrong, I never got in an argument with a customer and forced them to say they were wrong. How repulsive and disrespectful. Really rude to my girlfriend and misogynistic. I drove with her back to return pork burritos when she ordered steak. I thought the fix would be "simple" it was not. It became an ego contest with the drive though "manager" who was just a regular worker. I ended up filming it because of his attitude toward her. He was mad he had to correct the order and insisted she was wrong and wouldn't do anything until she admitted she was wrong and ordered "steak carnitas" ...which doesn't even make sense. Iv never seen a dude so arrogant. He couldn't just apologize and fix the order and wanted to strong arm my girlfriend into admitting he was right. This is the craziest thing Iv seen and most appalling behavior from anyone. If you are in the North Phoenix / Cave Creek area, you HAVE to try this amazing Mexican food. Everything is fresh and authentic. Called to ask if they served breakfast burritos, was driving so couldn't check out Yelp or their website to confirm at the time. Lady picked up the phone , didn't say hello or give me a chance to talk, she just rudely said "we aren't taking phone orders right now" and hung up. Perhaps she was busy, I don't know, but it would have been better if she wouldn't have even picked up the phone. With how bad the service is that means the food is really bad or really good. Carne Asada tacos are so delicious! Add pico and guacamole, yum! The lady at the drive through is so sweet and appreciative of tips.

We used to get take-out several times a week- but the last 3 times have been really bland. The service is great- but the food is not real cheap... which would not matter IF it was great. Really sad the flavor has gone out of the burritos (green chile, machacca carnitas) and tacos. Such a shame- we stopped going. :( read more

My son found a rock in his take out breakfast burrito. Tried to call and discuss with restaurant and was continually h/u on. Drive back to discuss and was ignored at the counter for 10 min. Every time I tried to speak to gentleman behind the counter he turned away from me. I finally got a refund but asked to speak to the manager to ensure they knew what happened to protect others food. I was told to call tomorrow and speak to manager Eduardo. I called next day, told they don't know an Eduardo, I asked for manger told he was in Mexico for several weeks. Asked for the owner, told he was in Mexico. Asked who could help me with a complaint. Lady said what is your problem. I started to tell her she said you got a refund and h/u on me. Never again! Poor service. I've had their food before and it is generally good. Today I went in to order the chicken fajitas and asked if they can put the beans and rice in a separate container (so I can give it to my son). I am on a strict elimination diet (due to Celiac disease and Crohn's disease) and react to certain foods, even if they touch. He refused. I asked to speak with a manager or owner and he claimed he was both. I asked how much the extra container (styrofoam container) is and he refused to tell me and responded by saying "I know people like you." What does that mean? Obviously customer service is not a priority here. I left. I will never go here again. If you are on a medically supervised diet, don't go here. They are not accommodating. Clearly the cost of a small styrofoam container is worth more to him than my business. read more

The reason I'm giving this five stars is the rating should be commensurate with the type of restaurant. This is a fast food restaurant basically, although they do have booths inside, it is a counter pick up. The Green sauce is really good, tortillas homemade. I was super surprised at 'customer service is terrible here' because I live off of Central and Carefree Highway and pull through here all the time at different hours. We come on Taco Tuesdays ($1 tacos), and so I'd rate those a 4, but my kids love them, they're a little sparse. The green chili beef burrito is excellent, and they are constantly busy but extremely fast, so again surprised to hear otherwise. I've been to all the Mexican foods in the area, and this is actually one of the best even fast food considered. Went for Taco Tuesday. The tacos had bo flavor and very try. Out son ordered a combo burrito and enchilada. The cheese in the enchilada wasn't even melted. Then we noticed on our bill there was a Misc charge of $2.00. When I inquired about this I was told it was because we ordered a green chili burrito. Who charges extra for a green chili burrito??? If you do make it to the window without leaving because it takes so long, they don't even acknowledge you once you're there, but they'll stare at you while your parked there waiting. It would be a bit more polite to at least acknowledge your customers while they are waiting. The food lacks the flavor. Get lots of salsa to spice it up. Skip taco Tuesday's, they are not worth it. If you're looking for Mexican flavor, head elsewhere. The price here is right where it should be. Cheap food and if you've got the time and just hungry, then it'll pass, but I can't say you'll put up with it too often for what it lacks in taste. read more
