Stopped here very hungry after working the night before til midnight without dinner and having to fast for 10 am bloodwork. This was my first time seeing Flagler Beach so I went with a restaurant with a view. I love Reuben sandwiches so thought I'd try their twist on the classic, made with redfish. The sandwich just wasn't good. The fish was slightly undercooked. I'd have to describe it as watery. I'm not the type to send food back or I would have. Having kids who work in the restaurant industry I appreciate a hardworking waitress and usually give more than 20%. Not today though. When you have to hope to see your server and hope to catch her eye or you won't see her til the check's ready that's just not good let alone exceptional service. Fun place on Flagler beach . Started off with cocktails and fire cracker shrimp. The shrimp had. a delicious glaze not too spicy. Then off to a Cobb salad enough for Two. No need at add any protein . Great food and service as usual. We sat outside in the sun, which made it just perfect weather to enjoy the beach across the street. Calamari is always delicious with the jalapeños in the bottom of the dip. Grouper sandwich was very nice and was actually ordered by the people next to us because they saw what my wife got and fell in love with it. Everything we ordered was way too salty. And I like my salt and seasoning. The bruschetta had a weird taste to it. The firecracker shrimp was like popcorn shrimp with sauce on it and some of the pieces were literally just breading. We got the mahi fish tacos and they were very over seasoned. The Cajun pasta was literally like putting straight pepper in your mouth. Like ground pepper. Poke bowl was okay. But maybe 4 slices of tuna. And not raw. It's seared. Definitely wouldn't recommend. We came to eat here in what was seemingly an interesting night as a rock band was playing, lots of local bikers were spilled out onto the street and there was a visit by a firetruck and ambulance which made for a unique experience. For me, the best part of our meal was our young waiter who had an impeccable memory and great service. It didn't make up for some of the shortfalls of the food itself - the ribeye was an insulting portion and the shrimp and grits weren't even edible for my tastes. Great spot right on A1A nice view of the ocean. Might go to is the Flagler fish Reuben. It's a large hunk of red fish on the sandwich. Always delicious. I often catch good entertainment here and the staff is always on point if you haven't been to Tortugas, you need to check it out. read more

I was driving home from Orlando via A1A and decided to stop at this place for a late lunch. It was a great decision. It is about a block south of the Flagler Beach pier and has a great location. There is a big outdoor seating area on the ground floor as well as an outdoor bar, and an upstairs seating area. The host asked me where I wanted to sit and I pointed to one of the nice blue outdoor tables. He said they were usually reserved for four people but because it was a slower time he would seat me there. I appreciated the gesture. My waiter, Jonathan, quickly came over to get my drink order and offer menu suggestions. He told me the firecracker tacos were his favorite item on the menu. I had already been considering this item so his recommendation solidified the deal. They were fantastic. The menu also offers plenty of appetizers, salads, sandwiches and entrees. Everything sounded good. This was my first time visiting but based on the food, service and ambiance, it probably won't be my last. read more

Service was great from the start to finish. The host checked upstairs and downstairs for an outside table for us. Found one upstairs and he accommodated us with our extra needs. They "stuck" us inside after waiting for an outside seating for 45 min. The inside seating SUCKS. It's muggy and feels like an afterthought table storage that everyone walks by to get to the bathroom. We ONLY came there for the sunset only to be stuck at a lousy little table against the wall where you enter. Lame. Ruined our last night dinner out with our daughter. FYI to the mismanagement: Tell customers to expect a phone call instead of a text like most restaurants. As for the food; the fish & chips were the worst I've ever eat and overpriced for how bad they were. The breading was about a 1/2" thick with not much fish inside. We were on the second floor which had a great view of the Atlantic Ocean with no wait time. I was not sure I wd like the conch chowder, so Harriet, our waitress brought me a sample taste of it. I loved it and ordered that and their side salad with their signature honey lime cilantro dressing. Everything was delicious, my only thought was to offer a large bowl of soup rather than just having a cup sized. Harriet was friendly and very attentive, we will surly be back. My husband and I decided to try Tortuga's for the first time. We were seated at a table with a stand heater. Beautiful view of the ocean from our table! Our server David was very friendly and cheerful, he took our drink order which was margaritas. When he brought our drinks we placed our appetizer which was the pork belly bites. For our entrées, my husband ordered the fried fish that came with sidewinder fries, I ordered the fried shrimp which comes with the sidewinder fries, coleslaw and tartar sauce. The service was very good as far as the pork belly bites unfortunately wasn't very good. The bourbon maple syrup to dip them in was fantastic but the actual pork belly was very dry. The margaritas tasted very good. The shrimp was amazing, plump and so juicy and the fries were very good too. I would definitely order again. The fish was fried perfectly could have had a thinner batter but still very good. read more

We came here since my Mom lives in Ormand Beach, so about a 10-minute drive up A1A. A decent spot overlooking the Atlantic Ocean that offers good vibes and drinks as well as decent eats, Tortuga is a solid spot if you're visiting or in the area needing a good fix we discovered. Grabbing a high-top table on the open-air second floor, we enjoyed Mai Tais and Miami Vices before enjoying our meal. The Bacon-wrapped plantains were delicious. In hindsight, the waffle burger was probably a bit decadent after that, but I was throwing caution to the wind. But the sidewinder fries were solid. Grabbing a table on the top floor is a good decision if you like gazing into the Atlantic Ocean or watching the cars roll along A1A. Plus, there are plenty of flat-screen TVs to catch one of several football games usually played during the season. read more

Amazing environment! We sat in the outdoor/indoor area next to the bar and it was freaking great!!! We had amazing mahi mahi tacos which had an amazing remoulade. Then I ordered their firecracker shrimp which was ok, but their skewers were amazing!! The environment was lively and our waitress was amazing. She was so interactive and nice. Stopped in during a lazy afternoon in Flagler Beach. It's right on the main drag next to the beach. It's GREAT people watching. We sat on the lower level next to the street in the "comfy seating" booths. We had a few drinks and a couple appetizers, including the wings. I got the Thai chili sauce. The wings were really, really good. The other appetizer was the caprese salad. It was kinda blah. The service was fine...it was a little rocky at first but got better as the afternoon went on. JUST WOW! The food there was not what I was expecting at all. From the street it looked like your typical sports bar that would be minimal on decor other than beer and liquor, signs and have basic bar food. But instead, I found a menu very diverse with its offerings and to my surprise very tasty. And the decor was quite tasteful as well. Definitely nothing typical about this place. I had the pork belly bites appetizer and the fried conch wrap. This was not just some thrown wrap. There were several fresh items inside that I don't recall like mango and some else with a kick to it. I was raised in Miami and spent a lot of my time in the key and Bahamas. It is hard to find anywhere that you actually get real conch other than just minced up stuff in a fritter. While the pork belly bites were good, the conch wrap was stellar. My friend had the fish Reuben and she said it was delicious as well. And I cannot say enough about Kate, our server/bartender. Not only was she so sweet and helpful, but extremely proficient. I could tell by talking to her about the menu choices that she was knowledgeable about the offerings there. I started off with a beer, but wanted something a little more festive being at the beach.She made me an excellent margarita, with the caution I do not like sweets - and she actually listened... I don't often order them because even though I tell a bartender, I don't like sweets they don't seem to either hear me or not able to accommodate. I was camping at Gamble Rogers State Park nearby and I had paddle that day for over two hours and was quite hungry and wanting to relax. Having driven The strip, looking for a place that wasn't too packed given that was the start of bike week, I totally scored landing at Tortuga's. I look forward to the next time I'm down that way camping. It will definitely be a destination. read more

All I can say is they are not there for food. It was awful! My spouse ordered Grouper tacos and was served some kind of fish that was not Grouper and was not even hot. She sent it back and got egg rolls instead. I had a hamburger that I could have went to Publix and got better burger. I will say the bun was good but I also expect it was from Publix. The reason they get 2 stars is that the service was pretty good and the location is okay. Could be a lot nicer if they did not allow smoking around the porch area where people are trying to eat. read more

We visited on a Monday in the late afternoon between lunch and dinner so it was not busy. Like most businesses, they are understaffed, but the bartender who also was our waitress was amazing. She was friendly and helpful despite being very busy. We also saw her running food up and from the kitchen that is downstairs to all her tables in between taking orders and tending bar. I was impressed with her positive disposition and skill and also very appreciative. As for food, we ordered the sweet and spicy shrimp appetizer and it was very good. It reminds me of bang bang shrimp from Bonefish. I like bang bang shrimp better but this is very tasty. And it was a good portion. For our entrees, my son and I got tacos. I got the fresh catch (mahi) and my son got the pork/pineapple. We both enjoyed our dishes and would order them again! My fish tasted fresh and well cooked- not dried out like fish can get very easily. The sauce was nice and not spicy. Also, I do not like sour cream, so it is nothing like that. My husband got the mushroom burger and he said that although it was simple, it was very good. The fries were unique and very good. I thought they were onion petals but they were fries. I would have ordered a whole basket of them! We only had tea to drink and their sweet tea was excellent! The upstairs view was also fantastic. We thoroughly enjoyed watching the surfers and the waves crashing along the beach. I would recommend coming here if you are looking for a nice view, some good food, and nice people. read more

If I would have to rate the drinks would be much less stars. Like 3. I had a lemon drop, I like strong drinks but this was too much even for me. I sipped it forever and it got hot since we were sitting outside looking at the ocean. My friend got an old fashioned, he asked beforehand if the bartender knows how to make it coz if not, he would go and help him. Server said she's sure he can. Well... nope Even just by looking at the drink we knew it won't be good. It wasn't. 5 star goes to service, she was absolutely amazing just as the food. We had more people joining us so we moved to a better table upstairs and it wasn't an issue at all. I think we got the best seat in the house. We were very pleased. Calamari was perfect and the Baja egg rolls were divine. We switched to Prosecco for drinks, at least that cannot disappoint. :) We had a really good time, our server was very attentive and spent some time with us too.
