I was referred to this shop by my dealership for what should've been a simple job: installing a hitch and connecting wiring on a vehicle that already comes pre-wired. Unfortunately, my experience matched the many negative reviews already posted. Visit #1: On the first visit, the hitch was installed, but I was told the wiring they had "wouldn't work" and they needed to order another one. This was surprising since my car only requires a basic connection and activation. I had to schedule a second appointment. Visit #2: I waited 2.5 hours before my car was returned--completely untouched. Along the way, I was told twice that the work was "almost done," even though it had never even been started. When I finally asked for the real status and said I wanted my car back if it couldn't be completed, the car suddenly appeared at the front with nothing done. The dishonesty was incredibly frustrating. As I was leaving, the manager came out saying he wanted to "make it right" by having me wait another hour. I declined. Then he called while I was driving home to offer to put two people on the job and finish it in 40 minutes. I took my parts to Total Appearance in Lawrenceville, GA so they could look at the items I had already purchased and give me a quote. After reviewing the pieces, they quoted me $920 for the job. Five days later, when I brought my truck back for installation, the final bill suddenly jumped to $1,220. To make things worse, the part descriptions were changed between the quote and the invoice, seemingly to justify the price increase. When I asked about it, the owner was rude and refused to honor the quote his own staff had given me, claiming the job "took more time." That's not how professional businesses should operate -- a quote should reflect their estimate, not shift because of their internal mistakes. I've used this shop once before without issues, but this second experience was terrible. Awful experience! Made a deal to get work done on my new 2021 GMC Sierra AT4 and after 3 visits and several wasted hours waiting the work was incomplete although I paid the bill in full upon my last visit waiting to pick up my completed truck, was flat out argued with about the incomplete work, they left bolts and trim loose that I discovered after the fact and they did not respond to my follow up texts. Absolutely the worst customer service, work quality and behavior I have experienced in quite some time. I had to take it to the dealership I bought it from to clean their mess up. I hate writing reviews after I've had previous good experiences, but this was my fourth experience at this company and this one was a waste of my time and almost my money. I am former mechanic and I went to get a simple alignment because I replaced my upper strut mount due to a broken stud. I brought my truck there and let them know this And I just wanted the alignment done. Three hours later I was called and told that I needed four new ball joints two for each side. I explain to them that I just replaced the upper control arms with fab tech, super heavy duty uni ball control arms, and this was almost impossible that they had gone bad. I proceeded to pick up my truck and I brought it back and tested everything myself. None of my ball joints were bad and none of them had any play at all. Had I listened to them I would've thrown away $1500. I took my car down the street and got the proper alignment and my truck is good to go thanks to the other shop. I guess I should have looked at reviews to this place before I picked them off the internet. My initial visit was on 1/4/25 to replace my leveling kit with Bilstien 5100 adjustable struts. I was confronted by a gentleman, who I later found out was the owner. He told me there would be an additional charge because a part was missing and they wouldn't be able to do the job that day. I was a bit irritated because I killed 3 hours of my Saturday for nothing. When I questioned him about it he was very smug saying it wasn't his fault and that he was having to fix somebody else's problem. They had my deposit so I scheduled a do over the following weekend. Came back 1/11/25 to find out they didn't order the right part to complete the job a second time. This time I'm furious! With little to no compassion they basically ignored me until I asked for a refund. He said I would be charged a 20 % restock fee, so I bought the marked up parts and left. While I'm sitting in limbo for a second weekend not getting my truck done, I'll never forget the owner chewing out a sales trainee for missing a sale. Terrible service. Owner Billy is very rude and a bully. Came in excited about my new car getting leather seats. Billy suggested autum leather seats with black stitching I trusted his suggestion and went ahead and paid the deposit. He ordered the seats I came back he stated it would be same day drop car off 8am it would be done 3:30p I came back 4p they gave me the run around pretty much my seats weren't done until 7:30pm. When opening my door is saw my seats were autum leather with the head of the seats black stitching the rest autum stitching and my console was not replaced. Billy was not present Bob was. He stated even though the invoice said black stitching it was nothing he could do because I worked with Billy and that Billy was at a GA football game. I would have to wait till Monday mind you I don't know why I had to know that Billy was at a football game. Not what I want to hear after seeing what I wanted wasn't done. Bob pulled up on his computer the black stitching and agreed it was the wrong thing. He also stated I either pay the rest or leave my car till Monday. Of course I needed my car and argued because I didn't want to pay for something I didn't ask for but ended up paying. Surprisingly Billy called me Monday said he would replace the console and that "the black stitching would look cheap" now remember he was the one that suggested it. I go back up there he replaces the console with black threading and when I state I want all of the insides to be black threading as promised. He then goes to say it's impossible to do. Mind you they've sent me pictures Bob pulled it up on the screen but Billy then says he's the only one that knows. Smooth, slick talking, with the looks and tone of someone that will please and make everything perfect. There are many serving time with these same features. They will lie to you an tell you this is what you need. Sale you the items and after learning that they sold you a JL Audio speaker that wasn't fully compatible with JL Audio Amp. The owner Billy said it was the one I needed. I made the purchase and went out to car and called JL Audio and was told that was the wrong speaker that it would give 200 watts less power due to ohms. I was returning it 15 minutes later. I had not even left the parking lot. Oh Billy boy with no decency says, I would have to pay the restocking fee. We argued to no avail. He said he could order the other one and have it the first of next week. It took over two weeks. BAD BUSINESS. I got the speaker and it sounds great. What a hassle man, what a hassle. There is more with my adventures with Billy. To sum it up, lies, lies, and more lies. They quote you low and and then charge you three times as much. Saying they have an automatic mechanics lien on the car and couldn't release it until paid. Paid for it and leave then realizing they screwed up my system. Turn around 15 minutes later and back and the "ProTech" wanted to argue and blame everything else. Except for admitting that he was incompetent to be able to perform his work with knowledge and authority. It is a big problem when his employees are ignorant, incompetent and unskilled. Maybe Billy is lying to his employees and telling them that they are great perfect in every way. I don't know. Please, forgive me Lord. If you go up there, really pay attention and double check all work that's been done. Any quotes have in writing and that you are not paying any amount more than quoted unless you are contacted and you approve it by signing. Just write it on the paperwork and make a copy for yourself. . I guess customers not knowing what's going on is how they have got by with it for so long. I said okay fine. We wanted a 6" lift kit stage 2 brand new 37 x 13 tires, an alignment, powder coat the lift kit (and then of course labor to do all that) the price was $5,584.17. My husband then asked how much he would charge if he wanted to get his side mirrors painted the same color of the truck & the emblems the color of the lift kit. he QUOTED "Side mirrors and emblems 295" the next day we needed to give him a color to paint the lift kit & if we wanted to go ahead & do the side mirrors & emblems. Well BILLY decided that he wasn't going to charge us 295 anymore that the side mirrors were gonna be $600 and the emblems were $450. So now our price was $6,634.17 because he said when he was talking about doing the side mirrors he was only talking about the chrome part (which is less than the top half of the side mirrors) I don't know about you but when you tell someone SIDE MIRRORS you assume it's THE WHOLE THING. No this man just basically BULLSHIT the price. On top of it YOU have to be calling them to figure out when things will get finished because BILLY will never call you. His whole stupid shit was "I'm the type of person who wants to make you happy. I could easily just ignore the experience you guys had with us because we always have customers but that's not how I am." Well I call BULLSHIT. Worst customer experience I've ever had. Extremely unprofessional and rude. Told us we only had to wait 30-45 min to tint one window and ended up waiting almost 4 hours. When we got to the car the window tint was all scratched up. When we told the guy he grabbed my mother and pushed her out the way. HE SHOULD NOT BE TOUCHING CUSTOMERS. I went in and I saw Jerome to install a CarPlay kit in my 2014 Mercedes. Everything went perfect. The install was completed much faster than expected. The technician went over the details with me so I understood how to operate it. I had one small issue after I left the shop, which could have been contributed to operator error however, Jerome was eager to have me come back in so that they could take a look at it, and ensure there were no issues which I did. They checked the installation all the connections. Everything was fine. I haven't had an issue since then and I would have to say this one of my more pleasant experiences in a long time I would recommend Total Appearance to anyone, and by all means ask for Jerome his professionalism, and overall courtesy made this experience one of my most pleasant ones in a long time. I found it was leaking a lot of water when raining day after two days that bedcover installed. On 11/14/19, I went to the store to try to return this bedcover, they test it, and it is a fact to leak water when I dump a small bottle of water to the top of the bedcover. But the manager in this store said they couldn't accept the return. I said I was not notified this item can't bee return; either the receipt doesn't show that it can't return. Meanwhile, the manager took out a printed paper "can't return or refund" post in the front of the cashier. Before that moment, that paper did not post there. I was shocked by his behavior. I was told that the only way is they take my car and to fix it. I saidI paid the professional labor install fee for this bedcover; It's the third time here to get this bedcover. I don't want to wast more time here. I would like to return it. Then the manager accuses me that I am liar just I said the third time I came here, he said I am the first time here for this problem. I explain the first time; I came here to deposit money, the second time, I came here to install, now is the third time. The manage still accuses me that I am a liar loudly again and again, and he said he refused to talk to a liar. The manager try to use this point as an excuse to refuse my return request. I would say I paid full price to purchase a brand new bedcover and also paid the professional labor install fee; the result is the bedcover is leaking water now. Wow. Do not even waste your time. It's taken 4 days and 6 trips to this place to get ladder racks and running boards on company trucks. They told me Friday it'd be an hour and a half to get ladder racks and running boards installed, came back after two hours nothing had been installed. It's Tuesday and the ladder racks are installed but only with a few screws. You cannot put a ladder on a rack with a few screws, if I have to slam on my breaks and this ladder rack falls off and kills someone that's going to come back to haunt this place. Like I said don't waste your time. It's also taken over half an hour and counting to install 5 additional screws to safely secure the ladder rack. Just Don't. read more

The bus already had a step ; however, I wanted to make it wider in order for my customers has a better experience getting on and off the bus. ( see attached) . Since I wanted to be sure that the width of the step you will install, was exactly what I expected, I demanded few times to your sales person to show me the step as soon as you will receive but unfortunately without luck, always said that will be exactly as the one I asked for. On the other hand, your associate told me that the whole installation will be 3 hours job, but instead took 3 days I was so disappointed when I came to pick it up, 3 days later, for my surprise the step was similar width at the one that I have already installed at the van. The quality was poor and it was nothing like the product that I assumed I was buying. I did not want to pay for a job that was not done following the specifications clearly stated from the beginning of the job requested. I did have a deposit of $500 To even make it worst your team did not want me to get my van back without received the full amount, even I stated that I did not have any issue to pay for restocking and the labor involved (clarifying that it not was I asked for - to see my good faith) , but not the $2000 for a job that was not what I not performed as ordered Really I would like a full refund for my purchase, as is not what I asked for. I have known them for 15+ years now and if I was not completely happy with something they definitely took care of it to make it right. Today was another one of those times where I had an issue with some LED headlights that we had swapped out and after only a couple of months they had both gone out within a couple of weeks of each other. This is my wife's vehicle so we had some time constraints due to her having to get our kids from school. We payed a small deposit and schedule for today at 2:00 pm, My wife and our two children arrived at the business, they quickly came and took care of everything; they have a nice waiting area with couches, TV and water and let me not forget the showroom is amazing. I left work at 4:40 pm and headed straight there, my wife was already finished by the time that i arrived. I had questions and concerns about the tinted windows, we were outside in the parking lot and employees were asking us if everything was fine. This shows the dedication and pride in the work environment, Kris came outside and we started talking. Mind you i never got a chance to meet kris in person or any other employee there prior to today. Great person, great attitude and personality, these are key signs of good customer service leading to a great customer experience. Let me share a story with you all-customer be aware. Below is my original review I put on another website and how this place handled it. I have had more issues with them than not. It started with the dealership that didn't describe the added safety features and continued with Total Appearance. I don't know if it is because I'm female but they are not very helpful and try to get off the phone with me or usually question what I describe. I live an hour away and have had to drive down there twice to get an issue on their end semi fixed. Still isn't fixed the way it should be but I need a break from driving down there. At least it is slightly better this time. And, did you know, there is no way to turn off the annoying beeping ( that still goes off way too often) on after market blind spot monitoring? I get it is a safety feature ( which the guys said and hurriedly got me off the phone) but you can turn it off if built in. This you can't. It just beeps loudly which isn't fun when you drive a lot and on the phone a lot for work. Wish I could get my money back due to the high price this safety feature was, the way the dealership ( totally at fault there) described it, and the continued issues I have with it beeping with nothing around. Two appointments to get the beeping to more tolerable but still goes off for nothing!!! Who wants to drive another hour to sit for one to two hours to have them treat you like you are inconveniencing them?? Updated and it has gotten worse- Flash forward to 7/30 . I called to get the sensor fixed because we are close to a happy medium with getting it right and I just couldn't take the beeping anymore (I went a third time when the sensors still weren't fixed and, with the luck of fate before I could take the hours out of my day to head back down there, a guy nicked my bumper while I was parked-I DID tell Total Appearance that when I went back a third time because,even though the back bumper was better due to the body shop placement of the sensors-which I wasn't used to because the back bumper used to beep all the time, the side sensor still wasn't set right. The owner was actual cordial but, it seems, the sensor was set to pick up lines on the road). Total Appearance are normally good getting me in a day or two. The guy I talked to gave me a 4:30 time on Tuesday. I said I am an hour away is there another time? He said 8 am wed which I agreed to. He said "I will see you at 8 am Tuesday." I called back to verify Wednesday and not Tuesday and the guy on the phone said yes, 8 am wed. By the way, they open at 8:30 according to their website. At 12:17 on 7/30 the owner calls. He said "You know your are leaving the car for five hours, right?" Ah, what? I am in sales. It takes me an hour to get there. I can't do that. I asked why because it has never taken that long. To summarize the next 12 minutes is him going on and on about my review and how he has to live up to how bad it was . I asked multiple times if he was punishing me with the review. He keeps saying sarcastically about living up to it and said verbatim "If you change your review.... " He also said with glee "You just wait until you see my response to your review. You just wait." I tried to remain calm and was in shock. He said I said I was mad about the beeping that couldn't be turned off. Trying to recall how he worded it but it was twisted, I wasn't mad but just annoyed that no one told me and think people should be aware. He also said every call with me was recorded. Hope they were. I said I was never rude. He actually agreed to that. I hope this call was actually recorded. It shows him trying to bully me-a woman. Anyway, I say all of that to say I would be an idiot to bring my car back and people of authority have agreed that I've spoken to. If the owner behaves this shockingly to have my name flagged and purposely keep my car for five hours ( even if they kept it two and had me ride with them that would make sense- five is just spiteful), I would not put it past them to do something to my car. We went to Total Appearance to put upgrade our wheels and Tires on 2 cars. We worked with Steven and he did an excellent job attending to us and making sure that we got what we wanted. The manager Wilcox was also very hands on and responded to all our inquiries. We also tinted our windows which we have not had any issues with. I used total appearance a few weeks ago to get a lift installed on my truck. I purchased the lift from total appearance, and upgraded the shocks on the lift to fox shocks which cost an extra 239.90. The lift was installed and I was charged for the lift and upgraded shocks. A few days after my lift was installed, I took a look around underneath my truck. I noticed I had black shocks with no decals added onto them. For anybody who knows about Fox shocks they are known for having silver shocks. I was charged for a product and was given either the stock shocks for the lift or a generic set. I contacted total appearance and was told I could not receive a refund until the next day when my salesman was at work. The following day I did not hear from him so I had to reach out once again to get answers. I was told even though everything was ordered at the same time "the fox shocks took longer so we just put the shocks from the lift on until they arrived, but they are here now so just come get them put on". Mind you, I live an hour and a half away. How do you charge somebody for a product and make them pay without telling them it was never installed? Isn't that important information to relay to the customer? I have a strong feeling if I hadn't called I would never have been contacted. I have come to the conclusion that it was an attempt to rip me off. Sometimes cheapest/fastest isn't always best. read more

Worst service ever. When I when to place my order I saw many customers complaining because they didn't have theirs cars on time. Anyway I call them hours later to confirm my order. They said everything was ok. My order was supposed to be there the next day, (Friday) so I called them on Friday and they said they forgot to put my order on the system, so they would put it now and I'd get my fox socks by Monday. Y called them Monday and the same shit. Told me they forgot once again to placed my order. Made me waste my time. Don't recommend them. This is not the first time I go there and it's always the same. Keep forgetting how poor the service is. read more

Horrible customer service!!!!!! Historically, I use to be a loyal reoccurring customer of Total Appearance for many years (dating back to when they were at the old location), in which they use to be really good with customer service and quality of work/deliverables years ago. However, nowadays the customer service has significantly gone downhill and the quality of work has diminished. I recently got a tint job done on my truck by Total Appearance, in which the window tint had bubbles in it after 5 days. I went back later to Total Appearance to see about getting this situation rectified (since it's warranty work) and they told me they didn't have anyone there at the moment that could fix my issue and scheduled me out to a later date. Also, on separate note, I had a "confirmed" appointment to get an alarm system installed in my truck, but when I arrived at Total Appearance to get the alarm installed (the day of my scheduled appointment), the manager (Billy) told me that I wasn't on the schedule and he would have to schedule me for the following week. Since I was in a rush to get the alarm installed in my truck, I went to another place to buy the alarm system (instead of going with Total Appearance) at this stage, in which I actually found the alarm system for a cheaper price at the competitor. Prior to any installation of the alarm system by the competitor, I came back to Total Appearance and asked the manager (Billy) for my deposit back as well as to see if he would be willing to price match with his competitor that was selling the alarm system at a lower cost. The manager (Billy) definitively said (with an attitude) that he would NOT price match with that competitor, instead he told me the catch phrase "good luck" as it related to his competitor. He didn't even attempt to retain my business in any shape, form, or fashion. Therefore, the moral of the story is this business appears to roll out the red carpet to "some" of its customers, but other customers not so much. read more

These guys installed my sunroof when I first purchased my car a year back. The roof broke, they Warranted the damages, worked with me on scheduling a time that was good for me, helped my get to a rental facility and kept me in the loop as to the status of the work. They gave me hints on how the roof might have broke and advised me how to care for it but said if it did break again to bring it back. Unable to install the stereo package I wanted after spending 2 hours finding exactly what I wanted. They installed the stereo but it didn't control any features that I specifically asked for. They were extremely defensive about the work and even blamed me because I didn't didn't specify what I wanted even though I did. They tried to intimidate me with claims of recorded conversations of the transactions. I just wanted what I paid for. I was able to get a refund after hours of discussions, but it left a sour note on my day. read more
