I have had countless surveys ordered in the past without a hitch... this office cannot get their act together to give anyone any information. They wont deal with anything over the phone. They just repeatedly ask for more money and go through countless emails with whatever disorganized woman works in the office (Im guessing "Kevin's" wife). Kevin tells you one thing and then nothing ever gets done because its pawned off onto the woman who answers emails and doesn't give any information or do what she says she's going to do. Such a headache and a waste of time.

I received another proposal for the same scope from Rittiman Surveying for $750 with a $150 Rush Charge. I sent a message to the Ash and Associates surveyor about the proposal. He stated that the estimate included drive time, office time, and site time. I could not see how this justified an estimate that was 3X what the other surveying company was proposing. It's like pulling teeth to get anyone on the phone, they do not bill according to their proposals, they do not do site visits to see what they are actually engineering and quite frankly, they really are not doing any "engineering" over there at all. Most of their "calculations" are based off a very vague and generic chart and when asked to have them "engineer" my actual water needs based off of how my business operates, number of employees, etc., I was told they don't know how to do that. Nancy Turner is apparently the head engineer over there and is on a serious power trip. We also asked her to please review our sewer tap design and get it back to NBU because I am currently in a shop with 5 employees with no sewer because Urban has taken more than 6+ months for a simple sewer tap design. She then has the nerve to email us and tell us that she was unable to do that this week because we questioned something on our bill and "she had to take time to itemize those descriptions" for us... which she should already have if I'm getting billed for it. They have absolutely NO regard or care for their customers, their needs or their circumstances. Most unprofessional engineers I have ever dealt with.

We hired ATS to inspect a gas line for a pool project. Their inspector came out and approved the…read moregas line, despite it not meeting city regulations. After tracking down the inspector, he denied responsibility and demanded he talk to our contractor vs tell me if my pipe was safe. The conversation ended by him hanging up on me by my questioning if we had an issue with our line, yet him already approving it. I then went to report the incident to his manager, who confirmed the pipe should not have been approved, and he would get back to me with what I needed to do. I followed up with him three times, and he's ignored every message. We paid for an inspection from ATS to know if our gas line was installed safely to have a tech approve an unsafe pipe, deny it, communicate unprofessionally, his boss ghost us, and after 3 weeks, we still do not know if our gas line is safe. Flagging for the city that ATS has approved an unsafe line and will not communicate nor follow up after multiple attempts.

Progress was slow, emails / calls asking for status were ignored, and final approvals for the City never provided (I gave up and hired a different firm to finish the job). This team has real trouble keeping track of its projects. But oddest of all, when I picked up the plans a nervous office manager implied I didn't intend to pay my bill simply because I wanted a quick glance to review them for accuracy. Apparently she thought I would run out the door with the plans in my hand. Really? If this firm is worried about getting paid for slow work and poor communication, perhaps it would be smarter to ask new customers for a deposit upfront instead of insulting them.

I would've rated them a one star the first time, but I was afraid there would be repercussions from the landlord because that's the type of management they were. I lived in 4 apartments in San Antonio and LOVED management for all of them, very professional and did everything the way they're legally suppose to. Had great relationships with all When we moved out from here, we received a letter in the mail stating they were keeping our ENTIRE $1500 security deposit...we left that place nicer than we even got it because when we moved in it clearly hadn't been cleaned so I'm not sure what the $250 charge for a "cleaning fee" is that they put in the lease for everyone..it was dusty and gross and I was pregnant and had to clean the entire place before moving my stuff in. I'm pretty certain they pocket the cleaning fee just like they do your deposit. It's SO fishy. We received an "itemized deductions" list of all of the stuff that they were basically keeping our security deposit for. I know that's typically what they have to do and I appreciate that, but it was super broad and didn't even make sense what they were charging for a lot of the stuff... They charged us $625 to replace the carpet and $350 for stucco damage, also $150 for door repair... we made sure that carpet was in tiptop shape and our dogs weren't even allowed upstairs so it seems like they just wanted to replace the carpet at tenants cost, I've seen property managers who do this and I've always done a good job of avoiding them, but I was warned and still rented from here. Most of the stuff we were charged for that were big charges didn't make sense and I even have pictures to back up damage to these before moving in. We always treat the places we rent with a lot of respect and barely even cause normal wear and tear because we are both working and we're rarely home. I've never had a deposit even kept, that's how good of a tenant I have been at every single apartment that I've lived at because I make sure to get anything repaired before moving out at my cost so that I can get my deposit back. I know this was super fishy and that this manager probably does this to a ton of tenants as well..it's scary that they are allowed to do that. When we emailed them a few weeks ago and asked for actual receipts from the companies for these and proof of who they hired to fix this stuff showing that it was that much money to fix these, they didn't even respond and we are still waiting. We have had to contact our lawyer now as it seems this is reoccurring for other tenants as well and it all has been so frustrating and could've been handled so much more professionally. We aren't standing by and letting this happen to other tenants. The most frustrating part is I think this manager is or was military and so are we both, I was separating from active duty service and moving across the country with our one year old so we made sure the place looked perfect so we would get our deposit back and fully expected to. This place is definitely scammy.
