From there, he gave us a rough quote for labor, and then we went to his store to pick our flooring. We wanted it done in a short time frame and he said the next 2-3 weeks he was available. After a basic primmer, Tony explained the differences between various engineered hardwood products and gave us a large sample to take to our home too see what the wood looked like in the space. While the install of the hardwoods was impeccable, Tony really is an artist when it comes to staining. total hardwood floor services was hired for refinishing hardwood floors throughout and the owner came out initially to price the job, and the owner never showed up again he sent different crew people each time they didn't show up when they' were supposed to, they didn't do a good job they ruined baseboards that were very custom baseboards and lied about the fact that the cheap trim that they put along the baseboards to hide the damage was initially already in place that they just needed to put the trim back up which devalued the eclectic quality of a custom home, putting pieces of wood up to hide the damage which made the flooring look cheap. They quoted three coats of stain and only put down two coats to rush the job finished at the last minute. I would not recommend them. The owner is an absent owner and they were slow and sloppy causing us to need to wait an additional month to put the house on the market during a very sensitive housing market. read more

I think this business is closed. We had Tony with Total Hardwood Flooring install a new hardwood floor in our home. The process went pretty well and we were happy with the results. Our home had some previous flooring issues and we decided to lay down plywood before putting hardwood on top. This raised the floor about an inch causing the carpet in some areas of our home to no longer be level with the hardwood causing a tripping hazard. After the crew finished with the initial floor install, we paid for all the materials and installation up to that point and then asked if there was something we could do about the new floor not matching the carpet. Initially, Tony, the owner, responded and said he would come by in a few days. Days turned into weeks and weeks turned into months. After a few more text messages asking him if he can return to estimate the costs to finish the installation, I received no responses. I tried calling and left messages. I heard from another professional that Tony had left the country so I'm assuming this business has closed, yet I see reviews posted after my installation so I'm confused. I'm really disappointed in this company and I can not recommend this business. read more

A hardwood store where I bought materials brought in a crew to do the installation but they cut corner on subfloor prepping and generally did subpar job. There were many problems functionally and cosmetically, big and small. Tony came to the house to assess the problems, reviewed with me what he could do to fix or minimize the effects then left it to me to decide. Tony was very professional in the assessment and knowledgable in diagnosing the problems. He told me what, how and why and gave me a reasonable quote. Tony and his crew return and did all the repairs and corrections he said he would and did them very well. The results in some severe problem areas that Tony repaired turn out a lot better than I expected. Too bad I didn't find out about this company sooner or I would have it do the initial hardwood installation and avoid all the headaches. Tony is a floor artist. I wish we had found him first instead of our original flooring contractor. Our house was being remodeled in phases, and we hired Total Hardwood to do the last phase of our project, installing ~1400 sf of engineered wood over new and old subfloor, part of which wasn't level. When he came to give us an estimate, he knew exactly why the first install was already squeaking, and recommended a different underlayment that was cheaper than the one we had. Getting the floor level between the new and old areas took more time than he thought, but he stuck to his estimate and didn't charge us more. The floor came out amazing, you can't see any transitions and the boards are solid. We still have the original install in a master closet and the difference between that and the rest of the house is night and day. They had to do some challenging precise cuts in the kitchen around an island, which were super well done. They even paid attention to picking out which boards to use in different locations to create a final look, and custom cut some trim pieces for us instead of buying expensive transitions. I can't say enough good things about Total Hardwood, and wouldn't hesitate to hire them again in the future. Their price was super competitive, so you may have to wait to get on their schedule but it was totally worth it. Thank you Tony for our beautiful floor! read more

After visiting several flooring stores as well as calling around a few business, I was stuck with either waiting weeks for product delivery or installation availability or the price was going to cost me an arm and a leg. Then I visited Total Hardwood's showroom. They had a good selection of hardwood and the total price with material, padding, stair noses, risers, and installation was actually thousands lower than other bids that I got. Within 2 weeks the flooring was delivered and installed and I was impressed. The townhouse was an end unit and got lots of sunlight but I couldn't see any imperfections in the installation and the unit sold for the highest amount ever for that size in that complex, I think the hardwood had a huge part of that.
