I give the doctor 5 stars. However, the customer service I've received from one of his staff (Laura) is a zero stars. So I averaged and rounded down because she left me very upset after our phone conversation. I had an eye exam last week and the doctor was so patient, knowledgeable, kind, and anything you'd wish your doctor to be. He also offered to give me some contact lenses to try out for a couple of weeks to see if I'd like them. About an hour ado, I received a call from Laura (very aggressive) and while she was trying to set me up to come in to try them and pick them up, she said "just so you know, we will charge you $263.32 for trial and training." I mentioned that there was no charges discussed and she said I am sorry I forgot to tell you. My issue was the fact that she was asking me to agree to pay or she'd send the contacts back until I pushed her back and she said I'm sorry I didn't mean that. I am not sure I'll go back there. Feeling unfortunate not to see Dr. Korth again, but bad customer service is a pet peeve of mine. read more

I was traveling out of the country and needed glasses and was in a huge time crunch. We called Korth Optometry to see if they would be able to squeeze me in on such short notice (I was leaving for Europe in 4 days) and Renee kindly obliged, getting me an appointment within the next hour. The staff, upon entering, was welcoming and genuinely interested in getting me taken care of. The selection of eyewear is astonishing, I had such a hard time picking just one pair. Renee was so attentive and took the time to show me all of the frames in my price range, which was so wonderful- there was no pressure to increase my budget or rush into frames I wasn't in love with. I was in and out of the office in about an hour, give or take, and back within 3 days to pick up my frames before Europe. In short, the customer service and attention to detail is beyond. I have been going here for about four years now, and it's a great office. The staff is friendly, the wait in never long, and Dr. Korth is very thorough. He spends time asking questions and discussing problems. When getting fitted, you don't feel rushed or pressured to get something and get out. I even broke a pair of glasses, and they offered to repair them so I could use them for a backup pair. Couldn't ask for more! read more

I only get my eyes checked once every so often since I don't really have any major problems, but my overall experience during my visit to Dr. Korth's blew every other eye exam away. Every question I had about my eyes got explained to me thoroughly, every concern I had was examined with a variety of tests, there was no pain at all, and it was a big relief to find out that nothing was wrong with my eyes. Dr. Korth is probably the nicest, most helpful, and knowledgeable optometrist of all time. My wife highly recommended his services to me, and I have since recommended Dr. Korth to all my friends and family (if I hear they are in need of an eye exam). I'll start my review by saying if you are looking for an optometry office that provides great communication ,great customer service and respect . Do not come here. Last year I waited months for my glasses I didn't receive them until the first month of the following year. Because no one from the office communicated that they were ready. I had to call myself. I wrote a bad review on Yelp about this experience and lack of communication. At that time the office manager personally called me and asked to remove the post "that they pride themselves on not having negative review". She offered me a "FREE" pair of glasses for all the years of me being a good customer and as an apology. So I did remove it. I just went, to collect my "free" glasses that the office manager Renee offered in exchange for removing my negative Yelp post. She basically acted like I wasn't even the person she had spoken to. She even flat out said "nothing is free here". I will NEVER go back to this office.To be treated like this is rude and uncalled for. This is a very comfortable place to have your eyes checked and also purchase spectacles. The staff are competent, friendly and very helpful. Dr. Korth and his entire staff is excellent. Dr. Korth is very hands on. Also a big shout out for Laura and Rene that helped me pick out my great frames. I was also very impressed that the office is totally handicap accessible. A lot of medical offices say they are but they really are not. I am in a power chair and I could easily navigate throughout the office. If you have any mobility issues and need eye care this is the place to go. Dr. Korth is a mathematician genius; I wear multifocal contacts and use one eye for distance and one eye for up close vision. I love contacts and they are great for basic daily use however for specific functions for longer amounts of time, my eyes fatigue. What Dr. Korth has created for me is eye glass prescriptions for various uses. I have a pair of glasses at my desk for computer work, a pair for distance at movie theaters, a pair in the car for driving and a pair to wear curled up reading a good book! By doing this, my eyes do not experience strain because each has been corrected to perfect vision. Before I was directed to Dr. Korth, I had been to two different doctors, who tried various tricks and then said I needed to give up multifocal as they are difficult to use and at my age should go to glasses only. Dr. Korth took on the challenge and I watched him writing like crazy what looked like math formulas and then announced let's try this - just like magic. So I say to anyone that wants to wear contacts forever, go see him!!! read more

This review is looooong overdue!! Since my first visit back in 2013, I've been meaning to write this! so lets go back to my first visit with Dr. Korth. It all started when I was looking for a specific brand of eye-wear, SALT. Not many optometrist carry it, and after doing some research on the internet and making some calls, I conveniently landed at Dr. Korth's office. Since it was close to work, I decided to pay a visit WITHOUT an appointment just to check out their SALT eye-wear collection. As soon as I arrived, I mentioned to the front desk ladies that I didn't have an appointment that I just wanted to check out their selection. They let me browse without hesitations and they mentioned that if I wanted an exam, they just happened to have an opening, so I took it! I had the most pleasant eye exam experience with Dr. Korth he was so knowledgeable, since I've had LASIK he knew exactly why I needed glasses now. :) After the exam Renee helped me find the perfect frame. After trying on various SALT frames, Renee was honest and told me what looked good and what didn't. After getting a feel for what might look good on me, she went on SALT's website and pointed out a pair that wasn't at their office but that she could order for me to try on, so she did and a week later the frames were at the office and they were a perfect fit and in my favorite color, purple! Who knew they would work out so perfectly?!! Renee did. 2nd Visit 5 years later! this time I made an appointment and knew Renee would find the perfect frame, and she did, this time they were in the office and she gave me her honest opinion and I went for a slightly larger antique-rose frame, from no other than, SALT! lol. I also had an additional request for a specific style of sunglasses from Persol ;) Unfortunately they didn't have them in the office, but I showed Renee a picture of them and she knew exactly what I was talking about. She went to extraordinary length's to try and find a pair for me, by contacting her Persol Rep. and following up to see if there was a pair anywhere in the US! Honestly, I had given up hope, but the Persol Rep came through! He found a pair while visiting an another office in BH. They worked together to bring the pair of Persol sunglasses back to Pasadena and into the hands of it's future owner, ME! Love that Renee was on this mission with me, honestly, I don't think anyone else would do that for their patient. I truly appreciate all their efforts, attentiveness, and overall the BEST customer service from EVERY angle.. The doctors, front desk and technicians are truly a great team! read more
