Dr Korth has been my eye doctor for over 12 years. He is knowledgeable, professional and so kind! His wife and staff are all incredibly nice and helpful. I'm always happy with my prescription and they have a great selection of designer frames. The ladies that work there are very sweet and always adjust my glasses, even when I haven't noticed they needed adjustment. The office is clean and recently remodeled, they have a few toys to keep my little ones busy and are always helpful if I have them with me. My oldest son (11) now uses glasses and they have helped me with a few accidents he has had (boys!). I will never go to any other eye doctor. Even after moving, I drive far to see him. Yesterday, my husband and I went to Korth Optometry for the first time, and we have found a new home for our eye care. Dr. Korth examined my eyes and Dr. Noritake examined my husband's. My husband and I both felt like our eye exams were absolutely thorough. We weren't rushed through our exams. Our questions were answered. Both doctors are very professional, and they are just lovely people. And if that isn't enough, the rest of the staff is also wonderful. Simply everyone. Renee helped us as we were struggling to find just the right pair of glasses. She knew what styles would look good on each of us, and we had plenty of glasses to choose from. And if you are looking for a good selection of glasses? The selection is fantastic! Great brands, great styles (classic and trendy). Since Renee does the purchasing, she knows what is in style. We drove to Pasadena from Rancho Cucamonga to see Drs. Korth and Noritake. We had tried a couple of other optometrists closer to our home, but I wasn't satisfied with the service provided. I have been coming here for over the past 10 years and Dr. Korth is truly the BEST!!! So personable and caring...which is very rare for anyone in the medical profession. My husband and I had out eye exams done a couple of weeks ago. Originally, I was looking for a good eye doctor that would make the process easy and non-invasive. I found this office through Yelp, and made an appointment online. They had an opening that week, and were able to accommodate my schedule. The entire staff there is great! Everyone is friendly, helpful, and understanding if you're really uncomfortable with eye exams. I'm very squeamish with eye exams, and Dr. Noritake was very kind and worked around my inability to sit still. I'm a pretty bad patient - I can't even sit still for eye drops, and I usually feel pretty embarrassed by the time I leave an optometrist. I was also really happy with how prompt they were. I had a 5:15 appointment, got there a few minutes early, and they had the nurse (?) do the imaging/basic questions as soon as I got in. I was with Dr. Noritake by 5:15, that never happens in any doctors office. My only (very minor) piece of constructive criticism would be that I wish they would make the prices on the frames a little more clear. I accidentally tried on and really liked a pair of frames that ended up being $390 for the frames alone - yikes! I only found out at the very end that there was a special drawer with frames my insurance covered that were also much cheaper. Although, to be fair, I never told them I was on a budget nor did I ask the price until I had made my selection. So I think I'm mostly at fault here. read more

Vision therapy is a scientifically unsupported alternative treatment that will cost you upwards of $20,000 and many, many weeks and hours of time. If any optometrist refers you for vision therapy, go straight to a ophthalmologist for a real medical exam. Vision therapy is a complete scam and is not supported by medical professionals. It's a money making scheme. Dr. Korth should know this. My opinion of Dr. Alison Noritake still hold true. She's professional, knowledgable and has a great bedside manner. My experience at Dr. Korth's office simply could not have been better. I am a first-time glasses wearer and was a little apprehensive about the process. I am not one to review however my experience with Dr. Korth and his staff was too good not to share. I normally go to Linden Optometry to get my annual exam and prescription because it is just more convenient however this time I decided to take the time and support small business. And what a difference in service.You can book your appointment online, with a variety of times available. Dr. Korth was very nice, and took the time to ask me questions about my vision, and concerns I may have, and went through and explained what he saw based upon my current prescription and what he would like to recommend. He explained his rationale of looking more long term in modifying my prescription. We started off with some contact lenses that I tried out for several days. I came back for a followup and told him I was having a bit of difficulty adjusting, and he scaled the prescription back. He told me to try it for a few days. When I felt comfortable with it, all I had to do was call the office and I finalized the prescription right then. No further followup needed. I was even able to order the new contact lenses over the phone, and Laura shipped them directly to my house. Needless to say I will recommend Dr. Korth to anyone that needs an optometrist. I will definitely bring my family here for their annual exams. Although I have no baseline to compare pricing, for me the overall experience overrides any bargain or convenience. read more

Both my wife and I visited Charles J. Korth, OD. She had an eye exam (with follow-up) and I bought a pair of prescription sunglasses. With respect to my long, onerous search for frames: they had a terrific selection and provided lots of feedback and advice. My wife was also impressed with the level of service and attention she received from Dr. Marcolivio. Everyone went above and beyond providing great optometric services by entertaining our active 22 month old. My eyeglasses exam RX was fine, and Dr. Korth more than lived-up to his great chair-side manner and skills; although, because of the unusually high price quote for the lens RX, I declined to put the lenses through his office lab, as I am not insured, and Dr. Korth's invoice fees for his uninsured patients are the same as they are for his insured ones insurance invoices. Frame selection is limited as well, unless you have $$ to burn! I found the frames I needed online for $82 versus similar frames at Dr. Korth's for $400! And lastly, I wasn't at all comfortable with the cheap synthetic (chemical odor), plug-in room freshener plugged into in every outlet in every room. My daughter, who was waiting for me in the car noticed the odor I walked out with on me! I checked a few other optometrist's prices against Dr. K's before I made my decision to take my RX elsewhere, and his charges are quite excessive in comparison for exam, lenses and frame selection. But, if you have good eye care insurance, this is probably the right optometrist for you; unless the smell of plug-in room freshener annoys you. read more

I've been seeing Dr. Korth for approximately 6 years. I also have been seeing an ophthalmologist concurrently figuring the physician is most qualified to determine matters of eye health. But, I must say, in terms of getting a prescription, Dr. Korth has been much more patient with me. My astigmatism makes going through the eye exam frustrating for me and, presumably, anyone running the exam because it's difficult for me to tell if "A" or "B" is clearer, as a slight movement of my head can change everything. Dr. Korth has always been very patient, whereas multiple ophthalmologists over the years expressed frustration after a short time -- which, mind you, I don't blame them. I find the whole process of the eye exam very embarrassing and frustrating myself because I know it's going to take a while. I've been wearing contact lenses for some 35 years, and when my ophthalmologist prescribed lenses specifically meant for astigmatism I was excited, but it turns out, they didn't work well for me, whereas I discovered with Dr. Korth standard lenses, for whatever reason, worked much better. Anyway, I'd recommend this optician and his practice in general. read more

I had a really great first time experience with Dr. Korth! Parking is plentiful and free, which is a rare case in Pasadena medical practices. Excellent, friendly service from start to finish. Dr. Korth gave a thorough exam, was engaging and easy to talk to, and really explained his recommendations to me in a way that made sense. I've been seeing him for over ten years, he set me up with my first contacts and keeps me up to date with attractive back up glasses. He is knowledgeable about the latest changes in contact technology and has recommended me to change brands when better types come out. Short story: I came away with my exam, Ray Ban vintage frames (like Malcolm-X), transitional, progessive, non-glare lens. Total cost $1165. After insurance, my cost $299! I was unhappy with my previous eye doctor so I decided to make an appointment with Dr. Korth hoping to have a better experience. I didn't just like Dr. Korth and his staff, I LOVED them! The office staff was friendly, caring, and very knowledgable. I was preparing to go out of the country and needed new contacts before I left. Renee, the office manager, was able to squeeze me in before my trip even though I waited until the last minute which was a life saver! Dr. Korth was prompt (which with medical appointments is unusual, I'm used to waiting for at least 20 minutes). That was not the case here! I'm a little nervous about any kind of doctors appointment but Dr. Korth and his staff put me at ease. Dr. Korth is such a gentle and caring doctor! I can't say enough wonderful things about him. He was attentive and really listened to my concerns. He quickly identified the issue with my prescription but took the time to explain it to me and answer my questions. He was so kind and patient, I never felt rushed the entire time I was there. I was able to pick up my contacts the same day I ordered them and the new lenses in my glasses are fantastic! The techs in this office are so amazing! I walked in a few years ago searching for a pair of Lafont glasses with my mom and even though they didn't have the style she wanted, the staff was so patient and informative. Even without purchasing a pair of glasses, they were all so polite. I went back yesterday to take a pair of Gucci frames for my grandmother. She'd gone to a more popular place wooo let's just say *clears throat* has a slight fondness to owls =).The nose guards were loose and needed replacing; simple right? Wrong! They were already yellow, wobbly, and one screw was falling out. I walked in to Dr. Korth's and was greeted right away with a smile and a pleasant "how can I help you?" from Laura. It took less than 10 mins for her to replace the bridge and screws to make sure they were just right. The office is very comfortable with an extensive collection and ample lighting to peruse each case. While waiting, I could overhear the other techs taking their time with each client. I highly recommend coming in to Dr. Korth's office. They will make sure you are very well taken care of. read more

I called based on the good reviews from yelp and I was SHOCKED BY THE COST of the services. I wear glasses and soft contacts. I was advised the Eye Exam for glasses would be $125. And the eye exam for contacts IF I KEPT THE SAME EXACT contacts I currently have would be $105. But if I wanted extended wear contacts or any other type of contacts the cost to EXAMINE my eyes would be an additional $225. Why is there an ADDITIONAL CHARGE if you want another brand of contacts? I think all these eye Dr.'s have had to up there fees because so many people are getting their eyes fixed with LASIK. Maybe I will too. read more
