Love their office and their equipment is very modern. Staff are friendly, especially Mary, who goes over and beyond to assist and accommodate. The few times I've been in, only one staff could not be bothered for a smile or a genuine hello. I've given up making small talk or having her assist me even to check me in, the rest of the staff are always willing and able anyway. My glasses came in in 2 weeks, as they promised/ predicted. I advise you to call around to get multiple quotes. Many people do not realize they can (and should) do this with medical care. When I spoke with TotalVision, I was told that there would be an additional contact fitting fee between $129 - $149. Sherry could not identify the exact amount; she said the eye doctor would tell her after the session. This is the highest I've ever seen charged for a contact lens fitting fee. I have lived in Arizona, San Francisco, and here in Connecticut, and it is the highest. I've been wearing contacts for approximately 16 years. If you call Sears Optical in Waterford, you will see that they charge $50 for a contact lens fitting fee. If you call Target in Waterford, you will also find that they charge $50. I am not necessarily recommending either of them, just encouraging you to do your research before committing. I was unwilling to pay 250% - 300% more than average, so I did not end up using TotalVision's services. My review is based solely on their pricing. read more

Their website has this cool appointment scheduler questionnaire that you fill out. It asks what your needs are and when you are available for an appointment. You then fill out your email address and phone number and even when you would like to be contacted to confirm and finalize an appointment for. The problem is that any time you spend filling this form out is WASTED TIME since they will never bother to contact you to set up an appointment. At least for me, they never got back in touch with me. Not at the time I requested, nor at any other time. It has been almost a week and it looks like they don't want my business, so I will go elsewhere. read more

This place is a disaster. They switched my doctor without telling me. The new doctor gave me the wrong prescriptions and diagnosis. My new contacts and glasses were wrong, and it took a week of calling and re explaining the situation before anyone at the desk understood and agreed to actually help me. Upon return the Dr was arrogant and blamed me and the computer system for the mistakes. This was a waste of time and money, I couldn't see for three weeks. I will never go back! read more

I have been going here for 3 years and this year is the last year I will ever go here and here is why. The last time I went for my appointment they informed me that I was required by my insurance that I had to get a contact fitting which I told them I didn't want. I was informed that if I wanted to be able to order contacts I had to get a fitting again for the 3rd time. Which I was told that my insurance would cover by the front desk. After I argued with the lady at the front on which insurance I had which she was wrong. So I did my exam and the new DR. at the practice was excellent I will give him 5 stars. Then leaving I was checking out I had planned on ordering new contacts and was told by the front desk lady that the contact fitting was going to be 120 and I asked if my insurance covered any and she told me no that that was the price I had to pay. Come to find out she was using my old expired policy which I told her to use me new one but she refused. Then she rushed me out and I got to my car and realized that I hadn't ordered my contacts so I went to go in and order them where she closed and locked the door informing me that they are now closed. There was 15 min before they were closed but she wanted to go home early I guess and wouldn't finish my visit. Now I am not able to get the contacts I need. If you read till the end I would not recommend going there at all. read more

I was speaking to Sharon regarding an outstanding bill. I admitted to error and advised we would pay as we did not realize it was a medical cost and not covered under the insurance. She proceeded to be extremely condescending and when I advised I could not pay over the phone right then in there. Needless to say, we will not be going there anymore (after 3 years of being a customer) and recommendations will stop. If you are searching for a friendly staff, fair prices, and accommodations do NOT come to TotalVision. My prescription was wrong and the staff was incredibly rude to the point of me entering the office in tears. One woman (Nina to be exact!) even spoke to me beginning with "not to be nasty but maybe you should listen to the doctor next time " which I find to be incredibly unprofessional. I changed my prescription because I couldn't see and no one chose to inform me the difference in contact/glasses prescriptions. Instead, they let me order glasses they knew I wouldn't be able to see out of. Also, when I realized I couldn't see they told me I'd have to wait an additional 2 weeks for them to be fixed even though they knew from the jump they wouldn't be what I needed. When I started sobbing however, they magically found the lense in the store. Why didn't they offer this when they initially found the error? As a healthcare provider myself, there is no way I would ever be able to live with myself saying those things to a PAYING customer, never mind pushing them to the point of tears. Four visits after on my already short enough college break, I was finally able to seek some help when I burst into tears in the office. If this is what it takes to truly see some changes in respect to a customer, that is truly sad on many levels. Please save your time and money! read more

The staff has already has shown that they remember us, which makes us feel special and as though they truly care for their patients. The technicians are patient and helpful.
