I was looking in the sparkling wines and showing my husband a huge bottle of my favorite Asti and one of the workers suggested a bottle that was just as good and $5 cheaper per bottle. I heard the most foul language from one of their workers who obviously does not care about her physical appearance or body odor. It was some white girl with dreads. This place is so big. Isles and isles of everything you can think of. And they sometimes run some awesome deals. Example, I found Terrapin Luau Krunkles IPA for $5.99 a 6-pack. That is an amazing deal for craft beer. I know they've done this before with other beers. The staff is friendly also, my husband was asking about some whiskey and they knew what he was talking about. I went in for a quick trip to browse some beers after work. There was one I found on the app but couldn't find in store. After browsing the aisles for a while I finally found an employee and asked for help. Well he couldn't find it either and he went to the next person up. Then he couldn't find it and he finally went to the manager for help. Unfortunately they could not find the beer I was looking for but they really went out of their way to make sure we didn't overlook any area. I still ended up buying a few 6 packs anyways. It doesn't get any better than this... As far as liquor stores go, you can't beat Total Wine & More. The name is self explanatory. You get the total wine experience *and*, you get more. Recently we stopped and peeked at the Chianti section and all of sudden a guy from Italy appeared and talked us through the brunellos and some other choices, since our go-to wine was out of stock (it was our fault anyway, we're the ones who wiped them out). This place is huge, so they have all the other bases covered too. Every liquor you can think of, and lots of choices for beer. There's a half row full of mixers for every type of drink you can imagine. There has to be 10 choices for bitters, for example. And there are so many different citrus and sweet mixers, and every type of drink enhancement you can think of. it's really a Willy Wonka for drinkers. As long as we're neighbors, I think me and Total Wine & More will be good friends. read more

I have been a loyal patron at this location for seven years. It has a terrific inventory of all available alcoholic products and is my go to location for beer and wine. Unfortunately I have come across a problem that has occurred with more frequency than I think is just an " accident or anomaly". The price tickets at the product display , or location in the store , don't match what is charged at the cash register. This has now happened five times and I dismissed the prior four occasions , but today I did not buy a product that was overpriced at the check out vis a vis the ticketed price on the display. It was Sierra Nevada Torpedo IPA.(six pack cans) When the clerk scanned the product it was charging me $1.99 per can for a total of $11.92!!! The listing at the shelf was $ 8.99. I advised the clerk that something was wrong and she agreed to type in the UPS code . Ok, only problem was my bill still showed two cans at $1.99 plus a price of $9.99 for the six pack. At this point I respectfully asked the sakes clerk to cancel that portion of my purchase, I left the six pack at the counter and completed my transaction. The really disturbing part of this whole adventure is that even though the clerk acknowledged that there was a problem: individual bottles priced versus a six pack price, and that I stated on two occasions that $ 8.99 was the posted price I was ignored . I must admit, I've never shopped here for wine... their beer selection is great. I love that they have a "Florida" aisle for local brews and they carry breweries that I'm unable to find anywhere else. The staff here is pretty helpful and prices are decent. They have a free rewards club although I haven't received any rewards specifically from that. I do receive a weekly email with some type of discount on wine/liquor/beer which is always nice. I've never been here for a tasting but it's on my local Brandon bucket list. If you're looking for craft beer and other places are lacking, come here. read more

Jeff was super helpful , however Total Wines policy of having a manager "verify" IDs of younger people is a little ridiculous. We drove out of our way to come to this one to get a specific product, and we frequent the Total Wine in Tampa and have never had a problem with our IDs. Tonight, we had to wait for a manager to "verify" that our IDs weren't fakes, I offered secondary forms as well (my military ID) in hopes to skip the wait, as we were getting some looks and to be honest, it's embarrassing to be told that because of your age you have to get extra steps thrown in your shopping experience. When the manager did come it didn't feel like a welcome experience, it felt like we were "guilty until innocent" even though both of our IDs had scanned and have been updated to the Florida Real-ID. Until we get an explanation as to why this store specifically does this, we probably won't be returning. I haven't been able to find this policy on their website and have never had this happen before, and it feels very discriminatory to have in place. read more

I am SO happy that they opened a Total Wine in Brandon right by where I live. This is the go to place for not only wine but I like to get my Rekordlig from here too! I love all the different options to choose from and I love the different wine tastings available. Being able to come into a one stop shop location where I can also taste different varieties is amazing! I used to drive all the way to the location on Dale Mabry just to enjoy all that this store has to offer. This is perfectly located in Brandon and everyone that I have encountered that works here has been extremely nice! I normally don't leave bad reviews but my son brought in his little sister because she had to pee and they wouldn't sell him anything because she (an obvious minor) wouldn't present her ID because she wasn't paying or planning on drinking the case of beer he was getting. My son nicely explained the sign outside says minors can be inside if accompanied by an adult. the manager said he couldn't sell because a minor was there at time of purchase. He wouldn't explain why just he kept saying it's policy. He nicely asked why his cashiers have let it happen before because the same thing happened a few weeks prior with no issues. He just apologized and said he could not sell. My son didn't want to cause a scene so he left. But it was awful for my daughter who they made seem her feel so uncomfortable because everyone was staring when she said she doesn't have an ID because this beer isn't for her she just came in to pee or she would've just sat in the car. She came out crying because she felt like everyone was staring because of the management called over. Horrible experience, definitely won't be going back. If they have a new policy of no minors allowed, then change the sign on the door and I would have no problem with them. Horrible management. read more

I have been able to find so many great, but normally hard to find European varieties, as well as a huge gamut of American craft beers. I usually come here only for beer, but the wine and liquor sections are extensive as well. For example, this is the only place my girlfriend can find her favorite Bunratty mead. Ordering alcohol for our wedding with this location was a complete disaster. We placed an order for a substantial amount of alcohol for our wedding a month in advance of the date we would need to pick up, and had to request TWICE for them to confirm the order with us, which they finally did. This was with an associate named Drew. We also followed up again with Drew 2 days before pick up to confirm we can pick them up at 9 AM when they open on 2/28 for our wedding on 2/29. We were told yes, no problem. We got there at 9 AM and low and behold NONE OF OUR ORDER WAS READY. Not a single item was pulled. The manager on duty had the staff pulling items for us while we stood at the front waiting. They also did not have our entire order in stock. They were missing half of our cider order (we ordered 10 cases, they only had 5 in house to give us). They did not have a single bottle of one of the wines we ordered and had to replace it with another brand. They also did not have a single bottle of the sour mix we ordered, again having to replace it with another brand. They also were short one case of the beer we ordered. They were short on cans of certain products and had to sub with bottles. We sat there for an hour and a half waiting for them to try to fulfill an order we placed a month ago. It was an absolute joke. Drew was nowhere to be found and when asked why this happened the manager on duty just shrugged and said he didn't know. In the end, their compensation for this chaos was only 15% off our order. The only saving grace was an associate Adam who was so apologetic and assured us that they screwed up but he would try his best to fix it. He stayed calm, cool, and collected even after I was a "bridezilla" (which I think was justified here). He even helped my fiancé load all of the alcohol into his car. So Adam - you're awesome. Drew and the rest of the management team - do better. I am still in disbelief this even happened. So any bride out there considering using this location to place your order, I hope you're flexible and can deal with them not having your order ready and swapping out all of your alcohol and mixers! Not like we spend hours and hours and hours planning this stuff right? read more

It's also fun to just look around and see all the different selections you haven't seen before. They even have classes you can sign up for to learn about the making of that particular wine or beer and have free tastings in the weekends. It's like an adult candy store. This store just opened for the soft opening today and I got a good look while there was hardly anyone in the store. It's well-designed and very inviting. It is easy to get lost in the mile of isles and the staff leave nothing to question. I am highly impressed- it reminded me of shopping for wine in large wine stores when I lived in Germany and Italy. While I have yet to buy anything here yet I will do so soon. In my first venture in a Total Wine I was honestly a little over whelmed. My entire intention was to buy some unique craft beer and the more I looked the more I found and there were so many choices I wasn't sure what to buy and left empty handed walking next door to Publix to buy Bud Light. I do like the store and will be back at least to buy some Christmas presents for my fellow beer loving friends. Selection selection selection is the name of the game here and you can find most any type of distributed alcohol here liquor, beer, or wine, but I I was disappointed at the premium they charge for it. I can understand them not being cheaper than others stores for Bud Light, Miller Lite etc. But I thought they would maybe be more competitive on the craft beer as I figured they would have some buying power there but nope all my favorites still $12 a 6-pack. Anyways its a fun place to explore and I will be exploring again but I doubt I leave empty handed again. read more

My husband and I stopped by after having dinner with his aunt and shopping at Costco in Brandon. The store manager was very friendly. I did not have a phyiscal coupon with me because it had just expired. We got a 6 pack beer and saved $2 after I asked for a coupon during their soft opening. Typically, in the email you'll receive a $1 off coupon for beer and depending on which coupons you receive, at least a 15% off select wines and $10 off of $50 purchase of alcohol. The manager graciously handed us a coupon and we left happy. We only got a pack of beer because we had already purchased alcohol from Costco, but I came back the following week and bought $50+ in alcohol and used the $10 off of $50 coupon. I can't wait to return to this location. It's clean and a majority of the employees are friendly. I only encountered one that was not eager to help, had an earphones on, and you could tell he'd rather be stocking the shelves. read more
